Hi Michael, I always enjoy listening you talk about things you like. Your enthusiasm rubs off on me and makes me enjoy my own collection more. Thanks for the boost today
Aww, an older cousin of mine would have loved that. He was huge fan of the character and his ship. He liked it so much he made a rough version in shop class out of sheet metal. He was very proud of it. He passed years ago but was part of a fandom who's generation always had to improvise and was a fellow artist who taught me to how to innovate.
One of the most underrated yet coolest ships from that time period after StarWars. I have always wanted this ship when I was a kid and never understood how something that screams "Toy" on a TV show never was made. Incredible job! This is the lost holy grail to my childhood!
I remember Buck Rogers very fondly, both seasons. I was of course 10 years old so my critical faculties were so-so. Pretty cool toy, please do update the hawk figure when you can. Thanks for the content
Will we also get a figure of that crap robot who could only put its hands on its hips? Love this, I remember being so confused at the start of season 2 but Hawk really saved it. Hawk’s ship really captured my imagination.
Maaan this thing is amazing. Hawk, Colonel Dearing, and twigi were my favorite characters on Buck Rodgers. Hawks ship was my favorite ship, followed closely by Bucks starship. I just always liked the shape, and look of both ships. They look like they're going a hundred miles an hour, even when they're setting still. This new Hawk ship is out of this world though. Lol yes the PUN was intentional. Lol another great review as always. Thank you.
Looks good! I agree about the second season, when they tried to imitate Star Trek (I liked both shows, I didn't want to see one turn into the other). I also didn't like how they sidelined Colonel Deering, Erin Gray deserved a lot better. Hawk was cool, though.
Holy Cow! You call your storage room Area 51!! So, too, does my brother call his!! Great (collecting) minds think alike. Hawk's ship is really sweet. Glad you continue to feature Geek Candy Lab's creations/ accomplishments!
Oh, look. A positive video from Retroblasting. Actually, there are no negative Retroblasting videos, it's just Michael professing on things he is passionate about. Great vid, sir! Again you prove your prowess in your unique style and thoroughness...
As someone who watched all of the 80's Buck Rogers with my dad and actually really enjoyed it but would watch it on MeTV or whatever, you could see the changes happen randomly and notice some great concepts just get thrown away for no reason.
As someone who grew up loving everything Larson I was fascinated when I tripped across this because I couldn't remember ever seeing Hawk's fighter - I had plenty of Corgi Starfighters over the years, but not this of course. So the big question for me is, does he ship to the UK? I'm sure I've seen one on eBay but I don't know if it was one of these so I'd prefer to look at one that's been thought through... Similarly intrigued by the Viper that I've only become aware of in the last few years, the only example I have is the rather lovely Eaglemoss one because I'm allergic to painting kits!
I’ve never seen Buck Rogers, but it looks like a wild show. I know you hate remakes-and so do I-but I think it would be interesting to see a faithful reimagining of the show today.
Always great to know about what other options are out there besides the big toy makers. Most of the big ones now rest on their own laurels and brand name to propel them and ignore quality and innovation.
I have all the og Mego figures in a light box case, always wanted more. Thank you for informing me about this..I will seek out everything they have on Buck.
Had most of the Buck Rogers figures in the early ‘80s. A great pity they never produced (to my knowledge) any of the season two characters. Hawk would’ve been good. Also the wine-swilling, half man - half goat dude - with his armoured horse. Would’ve also been thrilled to have the Vorvon (Space Vampire) figure from the first season. Bummer.
As much as I like the deep-dive research episodes, what I love about ones like this and the Stan Solo ones is that its like being that little kid again who spots something brand new in the toy isle from one of their favorite toy lines. Very cool!
Michael, thanks for posting. Because of your segments, I acquired the Viper. This looks awesome and it’s something I never imagined anyone would build.
Holy nadsack Batman, your storage room looks like a goldmine to my eyes. What are your coordinates? I need to inspect something. Just kidding Michael, yeah that ship looks pretty cool. I never got into Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers but I remember them on TV. You know what I really liked back then? Remember "Flipper"? and "Gentle Ben"? Those and Lassie were a huge impact on me.
If you had said that was from the late 70s, would have believed you it's that authentic to the others. Hope you find where Hawkman has nested in storage.
Oh wow -w e aren't the only one who recycle Chewy's boxes for storage! Great Video. I don't remember much from S2 of Buck Rogers, but all I do remember is Hawk.
That ship is amazing. If I was a kid I would have begged for it for Xmas or birthday. I remember how cool Hawk was! Nice video and now I'm curious about what else is hidden away in all those boxes....
I tried building one out of Lego back in the day. But I'm sure the landing claws were not very sturdy and would not grip the Star Fighter very well like they did on the show.
As a kid I would have killed for this ship. Hawk and his ship was the best part of season two. Wish you would have show the pilots inside and the wings closed would be great.
Hi Michael - great review! Question though: Do the wings collapse in to the body as per the show's clip in your video? This would be an amazing play feature!
Thanks for making this video! If I hadn't watched it, I wouldn't have known about this great toy. Got to the 2:22 mark, then went to etsy to order one of these bad boys (the brown one). I make stop-motion animations, and I wanted to have a cool DC comics Hawkman ship, and this one looks better than the Hawk ship from the Black Adam toy line. I remember this ship from Buck Rogers, but I wanted something that was also slightly reminiscent of the Hawk ship from the old Filmation Hawkman cartoon. This one will work for me! Thanks again for your video... cheers!
Hi Michael, I always enjoy listening you talk about things you like. Your enthusiasm rubs off on me and makes me enjoy my own collection more. Thanks for the boost today
That Hawk Fighter was probably the coolest thing to come out of Season 2, and this is a very cool representation.
I think the Movie was the best, and they fell off with the series. They clearly couldnt grasp any audience so they made bad choices.
Hawk and his fighter, was the only saving grace of the show. Only wish they had showed more of the fighter
Fans do the Best Work!!
That ship is awesome.
Raptor could borrow that ship from Hawk lol
Aww, an older cousin of mine would have loved that. He was huge fan of the character and his ship. He liked it so much he made a rough version in shop class out of sheet metal. He was very proud of it.
He passed years ago but was part of a fandom who's generation always had to improvise and was a fellow artist who taught me to how to innovate.
That’s freaking awesome!
One of the most underrated yet coolest ships from that time period after StarWars. I have always wanted this ship when I was a kid and never understood how something that screams "Toy" on a TV show never was made. Incredible job! This is the lost holy grail to my childhood!
Being a maker myself, I love watching and seeing how makers are crossing over to the toy collecting hobby to give us all the things on our wish list.
Ok that’s freakin awesome!!
"Awe man !!!! What a treasure! Those are beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing!!! 😉👍
Looks cool. I think it could fit in with a silver hawks collection as well
I remember getting buck Roger's ship and I though it was the coolest thing i loved that ship!!
I remember Buck Rogers very fondly, both seasons. I was of course 10 years old so my critical faculties were so-so. Pretty cool toy, please do update the hawk figure when you can. Thanks for the content
I wish the wings fold in like the show. I’m in between getting this! Great review as always!
Most people just display the ships so the extra cost for the retractable wings would be an unnecessary expense.
This is Electric!!!
That Hawk Fighter is soooo coool! This was my generation of Sci-Fi era. Congrats and just a tad jealous. ;)
One of the coolest looking ships ever I think.
Poor Wilma-“Welcome aboard the Searcher. Escape pods are located here 🫱🏻, here 🫲🏻 and behind you 👋🏻. Hawk, we hope you have a pheasant flight.”
Bought Hawk's ship and also bought a figure to paint too. Thank you for this video.
Wow, that looks great and glad we don't have to deal with Haslab or crowd funding to get it!
Great job I'm glad I'm not the only one with alot of my collections of stuff in boxes .always like your videos
This is why yt is great. I remember a little about the show and remember the characters. Cool
Was unaware they did a more show accurate color scheme. All ready got the current one in all darker brown...might have to get the other.
More incredible work Michael. These kind of videos always inspire me to take up more creativity myself.
Will we also get a figure of that crap robot who could only put its hands on its hips? Love this, I remember being so confused at the start of season 2 but Hawk really saved it. Hawk’s ship really captured my imagination.

I would do anything back in the day to get Hawks ship. But now it looks like I can I love this channel with all your help and info
Incredible! The fans are absolutely doing the best work right now.
love seeing stuff like this. fans doing the best work
Looks good! I agree about the second season, when they tried to imitate Star Trek (I liked both shows, I didn't want to see one turn into the other). I also didn't like how they sidelined Colonel Deering, Erin Gray deserved a lot better. Hawk was cool, though.
Love this ship i just had a model kit of it 3D printed for me to go with my monogram Buck Rogers model kits 👍
Gorgeous piece! Excellent!
Holy Cow! You call your storage room Area 51!! So, too, does my brother call his!! Great (collecting) minds think alike.
Hawk's ship is really sweet. Glad you continue to feature Geek Candy Lab's creations/ accomplishments!
I love when you show off the fan created stuff. It always looks so good.
Absolutely Outstanding!! Great video and Hawk fighter.
Oh, look. A positive video from Retroblasting. Actually, there are no negative Retroblasting videos, it's just Michael professing on things he is passionate about. Great vid, sir! Again you prove your prowess in your unique style and thoroughness...
That is pure awesome , Buck , and battle star deserve more love ❤
As someone who watched all of the 80's Buck Rogers with my dad and actually really enjoyed it but would watch it on MeTV or whatever, you could see the changes happen randomly and notice some great concepts just get thrown away for no reason.
Wow, I definitely wished I had that.
Looking very sharp today Michael! You are so smart to know all this cool stuff! :)
As someone who grew up loving everything Larson I was fascinated when I tripped across this because I couldn't remember ever seeing Hawk's fighter - I had plenty of Corgi Starfighters over the years, but not this of course. When Michael is happy with a toy, he’s effusively happy about it. Great video, made my day.
Always great to know about what other options are out there besides the big toy makers. Most of the big ones now rest on their own laurels and brand name to propel them and ignore quality and innovation.
This is amazing!! Take my money!!
That ship is so cool! Would have loved that as a kid Hawk is my favorite character from the show.
Geek Candy Labs did a great job on this! I think it's great that fans can put out toys that companies like Mego never created back then.
😎👍 great work & great video!
Yep in many ways it is the fans making everything worthwhile.
I have all the og Mego figures in a light box case, always wanted more. Thank you for informing me about this..I will seek out everything they have on Buck.
Had most of the Buck Rogers figures in the early ‘80s.

Would’ve also been thrilled to have the Vorvon (Space Vampire) figure from the first season. Bummer.
This is beautiful work being done by fans.
That thing is sick dude. Great review!
I wish they made a hawk figure back in the day
Ok, Geek Candy labs..time to make a GUNSTAR!!!
As much as I like the deep-dive research episodes, what I love about ones like this and the Stan Solo ones is that its like being that little kid again who spots something brand new in the toy isle from one of their favorite toy lines. Very cool!
I like this better than the (un)official BG and BR vehicles. Like you said design and color wise spot on for 1970's.
Jesus, Hawk Fighter evolution into the Quinjet - disssssscuss!
+ new subscriber today. Loving your content!
Awesome, thank you!
Fantastic.
Correcting a 40 year-old oversight. Nicely done!
I really enjoyed both seasons of buck rogers
Michael, thanks for posting. Because of your segments, I acquired the Viper. This looks awesome and it’s something I never imagined anyone would build.
To Geek candy labs...TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!
oh, I'm looking forward to the day GeekCandyLabs will produce the Scorpion fighter from Season 1 of Buck Rogers.
Thanks ! Just bought the last one !
That is so cool, love to see stuff that I would have enjoyed as a kid - thanks for sharing!
very cool
Hawk was such a great character, definitely the best part of the second season, except the invisible wall, that was hilarious.
As a kid, I was crazy over this ship.
Now you need a Hawk figure to pilot it.
It’s a cool ship 😎💜
Very nice. I am always impressed with what people can do with a little engineering and designing. Just fantastic.
Great little review!
If you had said that was from the late 70s, would have believed you it's that authentic to the others. Hope you find where Hawkman has nested in storage.
Hawk, the only good thing about Season Two of Buck Rogers In The 25th Century.
A perfect review, Michael. :)
I like the darker brown version more.
Hawk is hiding from you preparing to strike just like the first episode.
Another win for the fans!
magnificent
Another wonderful video!
me and husband has 4 days off and we love your videos!
need more DB and Gi Joe skirt!
👍👍👍💯💯💯✅✅✅🔥🔥🔥awesome
Oh wow -w e aren't the only one who recycle Chewy's boxes for storage!
Great Video. I don't remember much from S2 of Buck Rogers, but all I do remember is Hawk.
I'm impressed with how well it's weight balanced, so that it doesn't appear to have or need any kind of strut or skid under the nose to stand. 🤔
that is fantastic!
That sure is some great work!
How about the Scorpion fighter from Buck Rogers?
such an amazing ship! i wish he would make some of the playmates seaquest vehicles that never came out because he does such great work!
That ship is amazing. If I was a kid I would have begged for it for Xmas or birthday. I remember how cool Hawk was!
Nice video and now I'm curious about what else is hidden away in all those boxes....
Anyone remember/like the Space Vampire episode, or the War Witch?
That's Awesome! I didn't realize anyone was recreating Hawk's fighter. So cool!
I tried building one out of Lego back in the day. But I'm sure the landing claws were not very sturdy and would not grip the Star Fighter very well like they did on the show.
Fantastic !
That’s glorious.
Reminds me of Duck Dodgers and the 25th and Half Century 😊😊😊
As a kid I would have killed for this ship. Hawk and his ship was the best part of season two. Wish you would have show the pilots inside and the wings closed would be great.
Hi Michael - great review! Question though: Do the wings collapse in to the body as per the show's clip in your video? This would be an amazing play feature!
No, the wings are removable.
Hi Michael, what figures do you think are missing from Season 1 of Buck Rogers?
"For example, I liked the way the Transformers looked as G1 toy colors more than I wanted the variants that had cartoon colors" - PREACH
That’s very cool. I must admit I debate this one cause I had a fondness for that series but nothing from it survived into my adult collection
It’s soooooo beautiful…😍😍😍
Thanks for making this video! If I hadn't watched it, I wouldn't have known about this great toy. Got to the 2:22 mark, then went to etsy to order one of these bad boys (the brown one). I make stop-motion animations, and I wanted to have a cool DC comics Hawkman ship, and this one looks better than the Hawk ship from the Black Adam toy line. I remember this ship from Buck Rogers, but I wanted something that was also slightly reminiscent of the Hawk ship from the old Filmation Hawkman cartoon. This one will work for me! Thanks again for your video... cheers!
IMMWAOO *Hawk* was the best part of Season 2.
