Whoever was on the sound desk for this should get a good slap. Her vocals are completely lost in the quiet bits. I dunno, maybe that's unfair - maybe they got no time for a rehearsal/sound check and they were just winging it? And as for the audience? Yuck. You can see a *few* people are really into it, sitting quietly with their eyes glued to Chinchilla. But most people are basically ignoring her, almost as if she's an unwanted interruption. I can see that you loved it though, Mrs Realistic. This is one of my favourite Chinchilla songs - it's fighting it out with Fingers for top spot in my head. Lovely reaction as usual. You get such a great smile on your face when you like something, it's impossible to miss. And yeah, that lyric "I keep on jumping in cold cold water... and trust me with your beautiful heart" is brilliant. You can feel the sadness, remorse and hope all rolled up and poured out in her amazing voice. I really hope Chinchilla takes the time to do a new live version of this song, even if it's just her and a piano in a rehearsal room recorded on a smartphone. :o) This song is too good to leave us with the slight bad taste in our mouths from the audience and the sound problems in this particular video.
I would have to agree! The sound seemed off. It's too bad because in her Fingers performance she showed just how amazing she is live... and I think they let her down on this one! I wanted to smack those audience members!
This wasn't the best live performance from her but the sound was definitely off... like the sound techs messed up. But yes, I actually LOVE her live stuff!
The audience is infuriating. I would gladly take their place. I could be wrong but I don’t think she did a song with Sting she was on his European tour. She really is spectacular in my opinion. I agree with the Janice Joplin reference 😊
😆 Well I'm right there with ya! We used to listen to Janis Joplin like crazy when I was about 15. She was one of our favs... even tho she had already passed by then... she's pretty timeless. But we also listened to a lot of older music like Pink Floyd, Led Zeplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd...Ah, good old days...😊
This is so beautiful. Reminds me of Sia & Joan Armatrading. (I agree that you can can hear her earrings thwacking her glasses). So much effort and a great performance to a bunch of lifeless mannequins sat at corporate tables ...
You just know she made that costume too. She loves doing that. She came out on the other side just fine these days. Those dum dums don't even realize what they were hearing.
I was thinking, "Why are you even here?" Was this just a huge party for some, who were not actually interested in the artists on stage? Stupid dummy-heads.
Janis Joplin is a great comparison... I always say she's Elton John, Lady Gaga, Byonce mixed with a spice of Chinchilla on top! What an amazing talent she is and I'm so blessed to have found her through REN! ❤
Thank you for checking this one out, I personally really love the song and it being live performance (even though the award show fluffed the sound a bit in several places being too low) and the mannequins at the tables do pee me off lol.....but they're probably music corporate bigwigs or artists themselves not showing any kind of interest during but glad she got their applause and whoops (probably from the norms out of eyesight). I definitely see/hear Sia a lot in the range/power and creativity of Chinchilla that was my go to but yeah I can see Janis too though I haven't watched performances of J but must do!
Thank you! Yes, the sound people bit it for sure! Given that her live Fingers performance was so spectacular, we know what she can do! She definitely has a powerhouse voice like Sia, altho I only know a few of Sia's songs.
She is Janis Joplin meets Aretha Franklin meets Beyoncé. ♥️ Just give me goosebumps every time I listen to her. Talented AF. She is so young in this video, but her voice is so mature for her age.
I love your reactions. If I'm lying, I'm dying that I knew that you were going to say she reminded you of Janis. Janis Joplin was ritually sacrificed by the way, as are so many other singers, actors, etc. that supposedly overdosed. The real information is out there about Janis and others who want to dig for it. The music industry is pure evil. I'm 53, by the way, and love Ren and all his collaborators. I notice you are a Mrs. and not a Ms. You're beautiful!
Yes, Janis's story is so tragic. She was so young! There are many artists who have either been "suicided" or "overdosed" and the stories are just too fishy. Chris Cornell apparently committed suicide, but he was also going to be speaking out against the cabal and child trafficking... then all of a sudden, he's found dead? I don't buy it. One of the most amazing singer/songwriters ever, and now he'll never sing (or expose anyone) again. Thanks for your comment!
@MrsRealistic Thank you for responding, and especially seeming to know as much if not more than I about this realm we're in. We're lied to about everything. Almost every facet of our daily lives isn't what it seems, but "they" control the narrative on everything. I have to say again that I truly enjoy your reactions, and I really resonate with your messages in the videos you do. Thank you for doing these. Take care.
@MrsRealistic Sorry, also the singer from LinkIn Park committed suicide supposedly. Both he and Chris were abused as children, and they were friends. They were supposedly going to reveal the underbelly of the music industry. This is what I've heard anyhow. Thanks again.
Last comment, I promise. I basically just repeated what you said about Chris Cornell exposing the darker side of the industry. My mind is getting soft.
@@timishere1925 You're right. I don't believe anything the main stream says because they're in it for profit. Fear porn, all day every day. To be fair, I don't think this is a performance to be proud of; couldn't hear what she was singing in the softer parts and she was definitely off key at times.
I think the sound was off as well. Knowing what an amazing live performance she did on Fingers... I'm wondering if they didn't do sound checks etc before she went on...?

Aww, thank you, you're very kind!😊🙏
Shes too good, i cant wait to see more of her new independent music
Me too!
She's just fn phenomenal❤
She sure is! It's so rare these days to find this kind of talent, and not some manufactured sound!
Yep 🙋🏻♀️old fart here. This one just brings out the emotions in me everytime.
Wow i guess I have missed some ..... That's cool that means I have new stuff to watch. This girl is somethin special!❤😊

Nope... they screwed up lol!
A beautiful reaction to a beautiful song ❤
thank you for reacting to my favourite female artist ❤❤
She's becoming one of mine as well!!
They did her dirty with the sound.
Yeah, they really did!! I should find another version of this so I can hear her slay it the way we know she can!
Yeah, she was wasted on some of those audience members. I shall look forward to more Chinchilla.

She played support on a Sting tour (not sure she sang with him - but maybe ?)

+1 on the Janice Joplin refrence, I agree.
Thanks Michael. I have a feeling a few people might be looking up who Janis Joplin is...🤣
