In mortgage world, we use 2080 as the denominator to calculate hourly wage (based on 40/hrs wk).
Why? That's for 13 months instead of 12.

We do too in gov contract pricing, but it assumes no unpaid time off.

You don't need to have everything to enjoy life, you already have life to enjoy everything.
You also do not run a business to get in shape for business, you get in shape for business before you run it.
Big mistake people make is never getting a mentor, never understanding equity, and never truly understanding leverage.
Experience is truly the best teacher. Take leaps of faith, meet people. You will learn that business is more about people than it is about money

Codie, I subscribed as I like your style and I'm hoping that some of that positive money vibe will rub off on me. Many people think they want to get rich so that they can retire and live an easy life; but living involves activity. In fitness it is often said, "use it or lose it", I think the same applies to life. I decided some years ago that whatever happens I never want to retire. Slow down maybe, but never do nothing - only corpses do nothing.

It's good to be generous and helpful within the confines of a company or career where reciprocity exists. However, remember that givers must set limits because takers never do. Be on guard against the narcissistic users in and outside of work. They will take whatever you give them without feeling they need to reciprocate.

Imo the concept of "not buying Starbucks" to save money applies to a certain type of person who's eyeball-deep in debt from being a mindless consumer and can barely afford to live because their grasp on finances is so poor, and that's the first of many steps to getting out of that hole they've put themselves in. It's meant for the people at the bottom who don't yet have the position or mindset to be entrepreneurs. But I do see and agree with your point that's not the deciding factor that will turn you into a millionaire.

It is really hard to do that in a developing environment (country) with less opportunities and resources.

I agree with what she is saying, however, I disagree about saving your way to $100,000. That is something you can do - and I did. And I think it teaches you a lot, so would do both!😊
I literally saved my way to my first $300,000 by 30 with a completely average annual income $55k/year so that part of your advice is bunk, but you are correct that true wealth, the tens of millions, has to be attained by earning instead of saving.

4) Kept all social activities under $5. Joined hiking groups, mountain biking, house parties instead of restaurants, theaters, etc.
5) Kept a strict budget to analyze my odds and ends spending to ensure it never exceeded $100/month.
6) Invested every penny I made that didn't cover these bills into 3 index funds, one that tracked the whole market (10%), one that tracked S&P 500, (50%), one that tracked the NASDAQ (40%).
This kept all my monthly expenses under $600 allowing me to invest over $2,000/month. Now, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this exact strategy but it absolutely works.

Uh, *I* saved my way to my first $100,000. You exist in a very narrow world. I took a job in Dubai where the employer paid for my luxury housing for 6 years and my salary was tax free as Dubai has no income tax there & US didn't charge me taxes as I earned under $100,000 a year. I am only a teacher but was able to pay off tens of thousands in student loans, travel the world on my loads of vacation, and rack up my savings. Salary only $50,000. I've got a half a million portfolio right now in my 40s and compound interest works magic for me every year now. Learn more about the road less traveled, Codie.
You need money to invest or other things. Not buying coffee doesnt cost your future, but cut all unnecessary spending and try save the most money if you can.
If you earn 3k and save 2,5k your have more money than someone earn 10k and save 500.
Better learn something which give money, than go from 3k to 10k.

I am doing it I have been saving up for the last 3.6 years no investment just putting it in the bank in the savings account I am $15000 out to complete the challenge if everything goes well I will finish in august . So then you ask what after . I am been studying a lot about investing ready books watching videos like yours and others . I don't take the "Skip the Latte" advice literally. I consider it to be more of a metaphor that, when applied at scale, small, seemingly insignificant decisions can produce huge positive impacts or result in "death by a million papercuts". Choose wisely.
You may not be able to save your way into wealth but you can certainly spend your way out of it.

1903 hours per year? I'm used to this being 2080 hours (52 * 40). Taking a full month off - even without pay - is not a bad idea. I don't know of any construction-adjacent industries that look kindly on this level of vacation, however. Which industries do you see allowing for this?

I dont have many friends so I surround myself with education videos like this because they rub off on you too. Also Ive reached out to a few ppl in real estate groups youd be surpised how many successful ppl are down to earth & willing to help you. You just have to know how to talk to them & figure out how to bring value to them.
