I know people hate these cars because they’re not really a Toyota, they’re a BMW hence the nickname “zupra” . I actually love the styling of this car .
A few years ago I owned a BMW 335i manual. A favourite of mine for sure. I treated it a 1 speed manual once it was moving as it would perform in 5th in most circumstances. And that left 4 more gears below that to wake me up if I needed them. This reminded me of that car. I bet it was a pleasure to test. As usual good video. Thank you.

A well put together review Sir Pete. This car is one I really would love to own some day. I’ve seen a few in person and one of them was in yellow which was a fantastic color for this car and the other a light blue. Maybe some day…
Hi Ped Enjoyed this one very much. Always had a soft spot for Toyota dating back to my purchase of a Celica many years ago. Very well built but flawed as a drivers car, handling needed sorting. Fast forward to the 90’s a very good friend of mine with contacts in Toyota, loaned me a Supra gen 4, fantastic. From memory performance was in 911 territory. Joining a motorway ( no traffic) managed wheel spin in 3rd gear ?00mph. Funny how some things remain in the memory bank. Current Supra yes I like it very much.
Well done as always, Pete. I really appreciate you being able to provide your commentary on this car. I love the look of this car and like you, have always wanted a "Supra". It was on my final list but for supply/dealer/delivery issues, I put it to one side and opted for the M240. I am very, very happy I went forward with the M, especially now! The only items the Supra has a win are the manual and HARD BUTTONS for the HVAC. I have the idrive8 in my car. Great system but they eliminated the hard buttons, ARG!!!!
I sat in one of these for the first time at my local Toyota dealership whilst waiting for my GT86 to be serviced. It’s a fantastic looking car in person, and the interior really feels top quality. I do wish it was a 2+2, though…the rear seats in the GT86 are perfect for my dog to come along on road trips!
I drove to Aberdeen & back from Glasgow a few years ago in my flat mates Celica and the things that stand out about that memory & drive were the biblical down pours the rear wing on the car and the gear box which was really nottchety which I really liked. That supra in red reminded me on an Alfa from the back until I saw the badge. The colour for me is perfect as I just bought the Honda Civic in red on the strength of you review so thanks for that and I did mention your channel when I bought it so you might get another follow from my salesman.
Loved the video and the car Petrol! First time I saw one on the road in Canada it looked solid and beefy and stylish. This was a great review, and glad you didn’t try and gun it in those conditions. So on the highway did you feel any right pull on yr legs? ( would that translate to a left pull for cars with left side?) Or was there any notable affect? At any rate, top video again, very en. Cheers buddy👍
I have the exact same spec, but left hand drive 😊. I come from owning BMWs and this thing is the best drivers car at its price-range+. The biggest challenge is perpendicular parking; if someone gets too close, you will have to contort some to get in. Other than that it is one of the greatest Toys you can get! Excellent review 👍 Didn’t know about this channel until today and is now one of the few I will watch moving forward.
Great review..many thanks for this. I was given 2 hot laps round Road Atlanta last October in a Skip Barber School car by the pace car driver before the Petit Le Mans race…calling out the gears as we went. The only car I would swap my Cayman S for.
Really, really want one of these. I had the 340i touring and the engine is exceptional, can only imagine it's great paired with the manual. Also I was obsessed with the FT1 concept a few years back, styling is ace.

I've the chance to drive it last monday and it's a fantastic car. Indeed, you can drive it all day long in 3th gear, there's always a lot of power (i'm sure, it's more than 335 Hp). The gearbox is almost as good as my fk8 type R. (It's difficult to find the reargear but after a while i've got used to it ).

I've been waiting for you to review a Supra. As a current 3.0pro (auto) owner, the only other car that appeals to myself is a Boxter 718 GTS. Can't recall who owns one of those......I daily my supra. What are your thoughts comparing the 2 cars? Having never owned a convertible, the GTS seems like a similar car on paper. I look at the Supra and have no regrets, yet fancy a convertible, maybe just once, to own for a year or so to see what the fuss is all about through all of our UK seasons.
Good balanced review. I've test driven a couple of Supra's (ZF8) in the last month with the intention of buying on to replace my sold F-Type. Couple of questions... 1) You didn't say much about the sound, too quiet or just about the right volume for a "sports car"?.... 2) As someone of similar age to yourself, I'm worried it's a bit boy racerish, although think that's in my head. Did you feel at home driving it?

Beautiful thing, Pete, but WHY the fake vents? It would have been so easy to make them real aero. "Stuck on iPad". Saying that, I would (if I had the money)! Great review, mate.
I like this Supra. Mind you, I’ve always associated Supras with inline-6 engines. Like you, I can’t help but think Toyota missed a trick by not calling this LOVELY manual transmission inline-4 a “Celica” or “Celica Supra.” If I were to buy this car…I’d be sorely tempted to use a heat gun and fishing line to remove the “Supra” badges and then put on ‘80s-vintage “Celica” badges, LOL! I appreciate your showing me just how GREAT this car is in adverse road conditions!
Toyotas have never really been known for their interiors have they, they’re - well bland, but cars like the Supra are not about the interior! Love the lines from the rear 1/4 following on to that spoiler 😍

And I would die to get that car on the track....But after l long drive via the M1 and the Fosse way last Friday I realise I probably wouldn`t have my Licence for very Long with a car like that !!! .... Good as it is..... :-))
No matter how good to drive I just couldn't live with those looks, loved every previous gen but not this one. Just have to look at the roof and all I see is a Peugeot RCZ, which I do like. Also feels quite cramped.
It's a pity the weather wasn't playing ball so you could explore the power more which is higher than Toyota qoute as it beats BMW's z4 m40 in a drag race.😉
Not a lover of fake vents, its not a bad price for what it is, Toyota used to have its own 3 litre so why the bmw, my brother had the old supra back in the day which was a good car.
Think the problem with the supra is the Cayman. Even with the 4 pot it's still a more engaging drive with, let's face it, a much more premium badge. I think Toyota should've priced these in the low to mid £40's in order to attract the Cayman/M2 owners.
maybe in the UK or europe they may be similarly priced but in all other major markers the supra price undercuts the other two by a margin. there is no other new car giving you this much performance for the money along with exclusivity
I have its sister car, Z4 M40i, with the same fuel tank. It's pretty small but fuel economy on a long motorway slog is better than mentioned. Mine is well run in and gets 35mpg in adaptive mode. My previous 320i only got 40mpg so it''s pretty economical for the performance. I'd better not mention fuel conumption with more spirited driving :-)
I checked out the Supra at the LA auto show.......I was not impressed.....getting into the car, seating position, overall feel of the cabin, visibility .....all of this is by far not to a Porsche Cayman Standard. .......adding fake vents only takes away from the car and diminishes it to a "pretender". In comparison, the old Supra was much better and legendary, whereas the new Supra will not be missed as it ages and becomes either forgotten or replaced. In contrast, the smaller brother GR 86 is excellent and better in every aspect (except the overall performance of course).
I know people hate these cars because they’re not really a Toyota, they’re a BMW hence the nickname “zupra” .

Sadly not here 😢
"all the sports car you'll ever need"
yea, unless you like driving with the windows down....
Interesting looking car, but I am not convinced.
Not a lover of fake vents, its not a bad price for what it is, Toyota used to have its own 3 litre so why the bmw, my brother had the old supra back in the day which was a good car.
Sharing platforms is common practice these days as it saves a lot of money 👍
Hello pal, reallllll tasty. 👍👍🇬🇧
Hello 👋
Think the problem with the supra is the Cayman. Even with the 4 pot it's still a more engaging drive with, let's face it, a much more premium badge. I think Toyota should've priced these in the low to mid £40's in order to attract the Cayman/M2 owners.
Good point 👍
maybe in the UK or europe they may be similarly priced but in all other major markers the supra price undercuts the other two by a margin. there is no other new car giving you this much performance for the money along with exclusivity
290 miles on a tank - almost EV levels or range hee, hee. Bigger tank needed.
