Fort Max VS Metroplex: City Mode: Fort Max: Looks like a base Metroplex: Looks like a city Vehicle Mode: Fort Max: Max got drunk one night Metroplex: Metroplex got inceptioned while in city mode Robot Mode: Fort Max: AWESOME! Metroplex: AWESOME! Cerebros VS Scamper: Alt Mode: Cerebros: IT'S A HEAD Scamper: What the hell? Robot Mode: Cerebros: Well made deluxeish/voyagerish figure Scamper: Exists Results: Fort Max: Buy him Metroplex: ...Buy him
I think it'd be awesome if they made a Titan combiner. Like instead of them being 2 ft tall, they could be a bit thinner and shorter, and combine into a 3 ft tall robot called Titranos or something. The head could be a combination of the headmasters from the various limbs. They could combine into super city, super base, super battlecruiser, or the ultimate titan. Idk. What do you guys think?
i love the way he came out and the way they mixed parts up it doenst even look like a remold. excellent job! awesome review. i can see how happy you are with him. my favorite part of the review was the cats, lmao
As a tip...keep the bubble wrap from BBTS shipping box and take out the plastics from the toy box. He fits and the wrap secures the figure for storage.
So awesome. I hope the retail price for this isn't too crazy. This is one I would love to get, and I'm looking forward to the whole Titans Return line. Headmasters have always been my favorite. Also, cute cats. :-) Funny enough, my cat walked in front of my screen when yours did. lol
The only thing I respect the Takara series for is correcting the Sunbow mistake of resurrecting the redundant Optimus Prime. Little else to redeem it otherwise..
+Toolala Personally, aside from Soundwave, I was more of a G1 fan from The Movie onwards. I preferred the more futuristic designs over Cars, trucks and jets. I thought what Sunbow did in culling the original cast for The Movie was bold, but also the right decision.
I was hoping one of your cats would make an appearance. I was not disappointed at all! And I am now incredibly excited for this figure! Thanks for reviewing this as always Paul. Especially so early!
+Wireless_Phantom if they make metal ratchet joints that could support the wait that wouldnt be a problem. lol if that happens were looking at a very VERY expensive combiner
I'll be honest, I'm only pumped for this toy because of the takara version and how it looks spot on to the headmasters cartoon, and the awsome sound gimmicks and show phrases he will have. But also, the takara version made me see and understand some of the Design choices of this toy, such as the ab section is meant to look like how it did in the headmasters cartoon complete with the autobot insignia in the middle. Though to be honest again, when we think of FM, we think of the original toy
His robot mode looks awesome. His city mode leaves a lot to be desired. His ship mode is just an after thought. I think they dropped the ball on his city mode. 150 bucks they could atleast make it worth it by giving us a decent city mode ala his g1 self
Great review! I just want to tell you that in the Japanese series Fortress did have the small mode. That actually is true form, it was revealed in a flashback in one of episodes.
+optibotimus Yeah I just can't see buying Metroplex again. I have the Encore 23 and love love it. I just got Pandinus in the mail the other day. I am going to wait for Trypticon and hope that Hasbro chooses Omega as the next Titan release.
i agree i will definitely have to save my money for trypticon. i wanna pose my metroplex with a trypticon to explain some of the damage my metroplex figure has taken. in the heat of battle!
+Noah Davis Metroplex is so hard to get into a dynamic pose and knowing that I can't take a chance on Fortmax 2.0. Metroplex is sitting in my man cave waiting for Trypticon. Paul I can wait till you get a copy of the Trypticon because I will be hitting the link the description below!
really good review, the cats were a plus gave a good comparison to how big Fortress Maximus is. I am a fan of the old G1 line, the city mode doesn't bother me too much though the G1 city mode does look better. only issues I really have is the toy itself is kinda back heavy. If I want him standing straight I have to put his back to the wall or else he dreadfully leans backwards, and I'm half afraid of him falling over. Second the section inside his legs where the knees are screwed in looks pretty weak and flimsy in my opinion don't know if anyone else has noticed it, but it doesn't look like there's enough support there to hold the weight of the upper body. other than that this toy is very nice, and makes a wonderful addition to my collection. Now if only they would make a Titans Return Scoponok then I would be truly happy.
I noticed a lot of different takes on the entire line. Seems the Japanese "TT" go for interchangeability. While the American "Hasbro" approach is stand alone. There is peg holes like on the mini tank, that can be used for a plug on "gun with master-seat" So a titan master can ride it. However so far I can see only Optimus has those on his shoulders. I did see it with Scourge > "TT" version. He has that plug on seat-gun. Another thing is the mini sets with vehicles do not seem to exist in the TT line. And the vehicles are packed with deluxes, upping the price a bit for that extra vehicle. Now the japanese will not release those extra heads. But headmasters do come with each legends figure in their line. Adding one with Wheelie and Shockwave etc. So in the end you get the same amount of extra figures. With some they are simply uselless like Soundwave. Yet if you got the Leader class or a deluxe with vehicle then you can use them there. That is where i go with the interchangeability. Where the Japanese do not really give you a single toy that can function to its max alone. But add items to their figures that can be used with other sets. Which really makes me lean to getting the TT Scourge and Hardhead.
You need to understand that you and i are a bit different. I do reviews as a career. Buying something for that cost is a business investment and NOT just a collection type of thing. In the long run, i will earn my money back on the investment. If i was just a casual collector, no way would i pay that much for this
+Leatherface I can see Trypticon being much better since it won't be a remold like Fort. Max. Feel that really crushed any possible potential, at least when it came to the city & alt. modes.
Metroplex's city mode redefines "urban sprawl." But more to the point, thank you for posting the review of the new Fortress Maximus! I'm not sure if I'll be getting it or not; I think I prefer the G1 version (which I have) - and I don't really have room to own two cityformers.
Thanks for letting us know about being able to remove the guns! I just got mine today, and I've removed both of them and pegged them into the palms. They will be my Fort Max's guns until my Perfect Effect gun arrives in October. I was late to late to the party to get Metroplex at a decent price, so getting Fortress Maximus from BBTS at $150 is something of a bargain.
I wish i had a 3-D printer, I have a whole host of ideas, such as hip cannons. I need to hunt hunt down minicons and micromasters now since the scale excellent with the city.
Well he is not a mess like broadside.Bot mode and carrier mode are good but jet mode looks like he gave up transforming 3/4 of the way through. I think Hasbro like torturing fans. They have to put one minor flaw in every line. So we have to buy the next one to get it a ideal version.
great review optibotimus, it put some of my concerns of the figure at ease. I like so far how fortress maximus turn out, i was very concern of it been just a minor retooling like the combiner wars line ( new head mold and the figure been just recolor). Cerebro and spike( or emissary) looked great specially cerebro that looked very g1 cartoon as far i can remember. Im soo glad to see that fortress maximus has head articulation to look side to side. Im a bit sad it didn't had the giant gun from the box, but at least im glad they gave him 2 guns in the form of the giant cannon on its leg. Looking forward on getting this guy which it might not be perfect but still looks pretty sweet, in fact your 2 cats seems to like the figure very much so its recommend by them at this point hehehe. Im really curious about the shoulder hinge that it has, i never expected it was still functional. I assume if one wants to display fortress maximus in city mode like metroplex perhaps the option is available to us? after all its still using metroplex mold.
Ross just started shelving this for $54, just bought mine today. another one of their good sale is the combiner wars Bruticus set, which has 6 figures, sold at $35.
Another awesome review man, thanks. I couldn't help but notice, every time you do a Fort Max review, you have some cute helpers pop in hahaha. I remember watching the Encore Fort Max review same thing. Good times :)
The green panel was actually blue in _The Headmasters_ notice that the antennae was dark blue in _The Headmasters_ and LG-31 Fortress Maximus but in the G1 toy it was a grey with silver sticker so TakaraTomy could actually be aiming for a toy accurate to _The Headmasters_.
Just got the sdcc edition for my B-day. Hasbro had them in stock and on sale. Its only a $30 bump for so much more. It looks great and is much more when you have it in hand. more paint apps and bonus audio as well. Plus lets not forget, the sword!
With the name of "Emissary" and the box art describing Fort Max a more of a weapon than a being, it sounds like this version is very much along the lines of Fort Max from the Car Robots/R.I.D. cartoon. Lorewise at least.
This Fortress Maximus is based on Maximus from G1 Season 4. There Spike's father rebuild old abandoned city into cerebro and Fortress Maximus. So in this version Cerebro is not headmaster. The head of Cerebro in this mode is also accurate to Season 4 version
Tom Hanks in Big was the one who asked why kids would want to play with a building, I would personally like something I have to spend that much money on to transform into something a little cooler :c
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT METROPLEX!!! also optibotimus have you heard of this thing where you can make your own figure of yourself!! sean long, emgo, and shartimusprime have gotten one
thanx for the review. my only complaint from what I can see is that he doesn't appear to have the giant waist cannons like the g1 version has. that would have been amazing.
Additional ramp extensions would help this figure's City mode out a whole lot. But knowing how much this will cost does it make sense to pay even more for 3P addons.....? I'll see what Takara's doing then go from there.
takara verison has an master sword, new stickers most not re-used of old stickers, and an better paint scheme but I wish it had the things the g1 verison had
I recently caught him on Amazon for LESS than retail. Already got Blaster...kind of want Soundwave. Would like to find Powermaster Prime cheap...Can't wait to see Sky Shadow I think it was and of course...Trypticon. Imagine the floor space needed to link Maximus, Blaster, Prime, Soundwave, Sky Shadow (or whoever the other leader/base Con is), AND Trypticon?
this is awesome, fortress maximus has always been on my childhood "must get" list. sad I never receive one. and now they are making an updated version? nice!
Fortress was the headmaster in the japanese anime. He just never turned into his smaller form because...only highbrow thought it would make sense to speak to humans on their size level.
watching this review ...reminds me of a deja vu with your cats! lmao! didnt one of your cats do the same thing with your G1 Fort Max review? lmao! none the less...this was a great review overall! like how they re-molded this figure from Metroplex into Fort Max very well done indeed! I definitely have to get this one! Your reviews are top notch in my opinion!! :)
In the Japanese series Fortress/Cerebros did have a Headmaster named Fortress. Both the small head and his larger transtector were both called Fortress, and both were shown in the series. :)
+Jetfire48 Actually, only the Japanese box art for the takara toy called the headmaster cerebros. The headmasters show always referred to both the head and the head combined with the transtector as "fortress" with the city and ship being called "maximus".
I never understood why they choose to randomize the sounds in any toy with sounds. Doesn't that just kill the play value of it? How is a kid going to work the sounds into their play if they don't know whether the next sound is going to be weapon fire or the guy saying his name? Ideally I would like a little dial so you can select the sound you want to play, or have many buttons, there was a big robot toy I had as a kid, I don't even know what it was but it had lots of buttons concealed all over it and each one would trigger a different sound.
Cerebros in the Japanese series did in fact have a smaller robot controlling him, he just doesn't really transform into it during the show. All of the Headmasters were diminutive, Fortress just built himself two different transtectors instead of just the one. There are a few times in the show where is does chill out in his smallest body, but I think in total it's only two or three very short scenes in the whole show. Within the JP Headmasters canon, the smallest robot's (US Spike) name was Cerebros, the middle sized robot (us Cerebros) name was Fortress, and then Fortress Maximus was the full robot. Usually the show just referred to both the smallest and middle robot by the same name (fortress), and didn't make it very clear that the middle robot was also a transtector controlled by a Headmaster the same size as the other Headmasters until much much later on in the show. tfwiki.net/wiki/Fortress_Maximus_(G1)#Japanese_Generation_1_cartoon_continuity
tfwiki.net/wiki/File:Hm7_fortress_small_bot.jpg vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/transformers/images/8/8d/SpikeHeadmasterRebirth1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20070107222539 Like I said, he only shows up a few times for very short little bits, usually in flashbacks and only later in the series. They never refer to him as a different name when he's in his smallest form, so it's easy to miss. That's kinda a general thing tho - most of the Headmasters (save for Scorp) didn't spend much time in their smaller robot modes until much later in the show, and even then it was rare. They're all usually connected to their Transtectors.
I was not planning on getting this behemouth. But nw, oh yeah. Nice review, my friend. Looks like my Titan Metroplex is goung to have a friend to keep him company. Now we need some Decepticon Titans. ;)
Emesarry should actually be Spike unless this is the RID1 version. We never got a toy of Brave Maximus in the us so would be nice if they released this figure in those colors.
i just thought of something in the american g1 (the episodes i'm referring to weren't aired in japan instead they got headmasters) cerebros was modified not only to have a head master but to be one so what was his alt mode before not like you can just scan a giant head lol XD and before anyone says anything i know he actually turns into the tower in alt mode but originally fort max himself was just an ordinary city it too was modified into a giant robot
The only thing that would have made this perfect IMO, is if one of the sound clips was "Deceptions. Prepare to face... Fortress Maximus!"
Mark Drakan that would've been awesome!
(Decepticon!)
Probably the autocorrect screwed it up
Fort Max VS Metroplex:
City Mode:
Fort Max: Looks like a base
Metroplex: Looks like a city
Vehicle Mode:
Fort Max: Max got drunk one night
Metroplex: Metroplex got inceptioned while in city mode
Robot Mode:
Fort Max: AWESOME!
Metroplex: AWESOME!
Cerebros VS Scamper:
Alt Mode:
Cerebros: IT'S A HEAD
Scamper: What the hell?
Robot Mode:
Cerebros: Well made deluxeish/voyagerish figure
Scamper: Exists
Results:
Fort Max: Buy him
Metroplex: ...Buy him
Good luck buying Metroplex in 2016 since he's around $450.
Scamper, the greatest Transformer of all time!
@@kyoudoku and when you want to import it to Europe: double that price.
Metroplex is like $800 :/
I think it'd be awesome if they made a Titan combiner.
I like how your cats make a guest appearance :)
his cats did that in the g1 version
The Final countdown lol
its not a fort max review without cats
yey
yaaaay
+Lance Arquillano :D
Yaaaaaaaaay
It's Fortress Catimus
I don't know if it's the same one as in the G1 version review, but your cat really seems to like Fortress Maximus.
Exactly..
As a tip...keep the bubble wrap from BBTS shipping box and take out the plastics from the toy box. He fits and the wrap secures the figure for storage.
finally after years of waiting... fortress maximus has come himself!
So awesome. I hope the retail price for this isn't too crazy. This is one I would love to get, and I'm looking forward to the whole Titans Return line. Headmasters have always been my favorite.
Also, cute cats. :-) Funny enough, my cat walked in front of my screen when yours did. lol
I highly enjoy Fort Max in all forms!! its so well made and love how u can build a mini cybertron by combining bases!! Can't wait for Trypticon!!
I know you're not the biggest fan of the Japanese shows, but putting that Headmasters theme at the start was an AWESOME touch.
The only thing I respect the Takara series for is correcting the Sunbow mistake of resurrecting the redundant Optimus Prime. Little else to redeem it otherwise..
They're far more entertaining in my opinion
I don't think I've ever gotten past season 1 of G1, its far too cheesy.
+Toolala Personally, aside from Soundwave, I was more of a G1 fan from The Movie onwards. I preferred the more futuristic designs over Cars, trucks and jets. I thought what Sunbow did in culling the original cast for The Movie was bold, but also the right decision.
The movie's still good, the show is just a little too 80's for my tastes.
Indeed. It's why I still consider Beast Wars the best Transformers series ever made.
I was hoping one of your cats would make an appearance. I was not disappointed at all! And I am now incredibly excited for this figure! Thanks for reviewing this as always Paul. Especially so early!
I loved seeing the cat in the background! I was actually more fixated on the cat than Fort Max. lol!
Kittytron is attacking Fortress Maximus! :D
Next toy line for transformers .. COMBINER TITANS RETURN! combining titan class figures to a massive combiner
Lol
that would be awesome! imagine a bot the size of fort max as an arm!
+Wireless_Phantom yes! granted it would be hell of expensive but its worth it!
Lorenz Retiro and I don't think there are ratchets in existence that could work for shoulder joints
+Wireless_Phantom if they make metal ratchet joints that could support the wait that wouldnt be a problem. lol if that happens were looking at a very VERY expensive combiner
Ah. Eventually you'll learn, like Smooth McGroove, that the cats are the stars of the video and you're just their token human. ;-)
It is about time that they brought back Fort Max. Awesome review. Also, great camera quality.
8:16 out of nowhere changes from reviewing a toy to playing with a cat lmao
I'll be honest, I'm only pumped for this toy because of the takara version and how it looks spot on to the headmasters cartoon, and the awsome sound gimmicks and show phrases he will have. But also, the takara version made me see and understand some of the Design choices of this toy, such as the ab section is meant to look like how it did in the headmasters cartoon complete with the autobot insignia in the middle. Though to be honest again, when we think of FM, we think of the original toy
I know that it may not be official, but comparing him to the Planet X Genesis would be pretty great too
Sooooooo happy this is getting reissued. Already put my order in
That cat is the REAL Star of the show...
>:3
His robot mode looks awesome. His city mode leaves a lot to be desired. His ship mode is just an after thought. I think they dropped the ball on his city mode. 150 bucks they could atleast make it worth it by giving us a decent city mode ala his g1 self
I don't see a city, I see a decapitated Fort Max laying down. That's why I'm not a fan of city-bots.
gg
Austin Hinton GG means Good Game.
Exactly
+PATBACK Andy why exactly would "good game" make ANY sense in response to the OP??
Lol
Great review! I just want to tell you that in the Japanese series Fortress did have the small mode. That actually is true form, it was revealed in a flashback in one of episodes.
Great review Paul! This toy is a pass for me. I'll save my money for Trypticon!
+bsav 2 that's a year away
+optibotimus Yeah I just can't see buying Metroplex again. I have the Encore 23 and love love it. I just got Pandinus in the mail the other day. I am going to wait for Trypticon and hope that Hasbro chooses Omega as the next Titan release.

My problem were his stickers. They were horrible at staying on so I just tried to get as many of them to stay as possible. And after wards I gave up
really good review, the cats were a plus gave a good comparison to how big Fortress Maximus is. Now if only they would make a Titans Return Scoponok then I would be truly happy.
It's actually bigger than the original Fort Max! It's beautiful! If only he had forearm, hand and waist guns. GET TO WORK THIRD PARTIES!!!!
All you have to do is pull off the guns on his legs people. They have handles.
Edit: Whoops, you were talking about waist guns, sorry.
If you think about it, the cats bombing the scene is actually a good size comparison. LOL
I still have my original Fort Max... and just saying, this guy looks flimsy...
SockMonkeyPrime he’s not
I noticed a lot of different takes on the entire line. Seems the Japanese "TT" go for interchangeability. While the American "Hasbro" approach is stand alone. There is peg holes like on the mini tank, that can be used for a plug on "gun with master-seat" So a titan master can ride it.

I enjoy collecting stuff, including transformers. That being said, paying $370 is bat shit crazy.
You need to understand that you and i are a bit different. I do reviews as a career. Buying something for that cost is a business investment and NOT just a collection type of thing. In the long run, i will earn my money back on the investment. If i was just a casual collector, no way would i pay that much for this
+optibotimus I'm not saying you because I get why you bought it. I'm saying the average collector. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Trigger Happy, got mine for 90 dollars on entertainmentearth.com I got it for Christmas, so I'm assuming it was a Christmas deal.
*8 years later* There re releasing him👏👏👏
So we have Metroplex and Fortress Maimus. When will the Decepticons get a Titan to go against them?
Next year
+optibotimus trypticon I believe, I hope Hasbro does not mess up this one!
Do you mean if he is a Titan Master or it isn't overall very good?
Poor Scorponok, the long forgotten Citybot.. Forgotten by Takara/Hasbro at least :(
+Leatherface I can see Trypticon being much better since it won't be a remold like Fort. Max. Feel that really crushed any possible potential, at least when it came to the city & alt. modes.
Metroplex's city mode redefines "urban sprawl."
But more to the point, thank you for posting the review of the new Fortress Maximus! I'm not sure if I'll be getting it or not; I think I prefer the G1 version (which I have) - and I don't really have room to own two cityformers.
*Sigh* God it's majestic.
meh
+DapperWolf11 - GTFO!!!!!
Mmmmneh
+DapperWolf11 - I swear I will find you and take away all that is dear and near to your heart. ;)
Ummmmm k let me get my revolver first so we can do this WESTERN style ;)
Thanks for letting us know about being able to remove the guns! I just got mine today, and I've removed both of them and pegged them into the palms. They will be my Fort Max's guns until my Perfect Effect gun arrives in October. I was late to late to the party to get Metroplex at a decent price, so getting Fortress Maximus from BBTS at $150 is something of a bargain.
amazon was selling them for $99, got mine !
I saw that...great deal!
optibotimus does the cat come with it? lol
r yuya got mine 55 usd. Ross Xmas time. no more now! I bought two of them at that price! now I need sdcc version but cheap as well
r yuya
Mull is a great guy, know him personally. So glad us Aussies could help you score a bot before release Opti. Thanks for the review!
I see a third party tower addon and guns..
And small companion bots, and a Sword.
Man, 3rd parties are gonna capitalize on the lack of accesories and make a bunch of upgrade kits.
I tot Hasbro and takara are using third parties to fix mistake and also as a test market for new products.
+Gary Tomás Constanza Martinez yeah a lot of the figures need it tho :o
I wish i had a 3-D printer, I have a whole host of ideas, such as hip cannons. I need to hunt hunt down minicons and micromasters now since the scale excellent with the city.

Tux did a really good job serving as a size comparison for us. Give him a pet from the viewers :D
Love the cat sidekick grooving in the background :) but awesome and clear review as always 👍🏼
6 mins in and you get a Like!
You're supposed to use a banana for scale, but the kitty cat works beautifully! Hahaha
Early review, HURRAY!
Double props for the Headmasters theme at the beginning. And great to see Tux make an appearance. :D
"Double props"
Heh. I see what you did there.
The frickin' cat just walking around, so cute and funny
great review optibotimus, it put some of my concerns of the figure at ease.
I like so far how fortress maximus turn out, i was very concern of it been just a minor retooling like the combiner wars line ( new head mold and the figure been just recolor). If you do the custom"g1" look open his leg guns all the way down until they look into place. This helps hold those legs up.
When you put on the transformers theme song in the beginning, I was EXCITED!!!
i loved the part of this video when the cat came i love cats
27:45 The cat is interested. LOL
5:34 Fort-Max scales perfectly with "Tusks"
Love the Black & White Transformers Battle cat in the background :-)
Ross just started shelving this for $54, just bought mine today. another one of their good sale is the combiner wars Bruticus set, which has 6 figures, sold at $35.
Emissary plugs into the leg cannon (red gun side) as a gunner in the hole (standing) but seems to look better with the gun detached.
The G1 HM Fort Max city mode is better because it actually looks like a city.
One of your other cats walked around in your original Fort Max review, which is a funny coincidence.
paul.. the 20 sticker you have left on the sheet goes on top of the black gun inside the aqua blue compartment on the right side of his chest!
When I saw this review, I was excited. But then your cat walked in and I was thinking, "Forget Fort Max! Show the kitty!"
Try watching the video.
You're actually right, i didn't go back and look at that
Just got the sdcc edition for my B-day. Hasbro had them in stock and on sale. Its only a $30 bump for so much more. It looks great and is much more when you have it in hand. more paint apps and bonus audio as well. Plus lets not forget, the sword!
KITTIES! They give a nice way to show just how massive this guy is, I cant wait until he is out here in the UK
The red door on his right forearm next to his fist opens up!
With the name of "Emissary" and the box art describing Fort Max a more of a weapon than a being, it sounds like this version is very much along the lines of Fort Max from the Car Robots/R.I.D. cartoon. Lorewise at least.
50 outta 10 review. Best review. All reviews with a cat are good.
I just realized you say "Really very ______" a lot, and I can't stop noticing it. XD
cerebros looks GREAT. I'm thinking about getting this guy only for cerebros
thanx for the review. my only complaint from what I can see is that he doesn't appear to have the giant waist cannons like the g1 version has. that would have been amazing.
This review made me realise how much I want Master Made SDT-02 Diabolus Rex. Soon, soon it shall be mine, hopefully.
JaZzPrIme74 But its not so much that is Trypticon I like its just the figure in general.
That Headmasters theme though. Oh God the flashbacks.
it's very cool to have a giant triple changer / head master paul
Imgaine being a kid today getting this for Christmas, i would be doing cartwheels around the house!

Spike size Cerebros do exist in the Japanese series. You can see him in episode 7 "The Four-Million-Year-Old Veil of Mystery".
I recently caught him on Amazon for LESS than retail. Already got Blaster...kind of want Soundwave. Would like to find Powermaster Prime cheap...Can't wait to see Sky Shadow I think it was and of course...Trypticon.
Imagine the floor space needed to link Maximus, Blaster, Prime, Soundwave, Sky Shadow (or whoever the other leader/base Con is), AND Trypticon?
glad to be back here :D Oh MY GOD MY happiness when i was younger :D thanks for the memories Optibotimus :D :D :D
Maybe the compartment in the arm could be used as a makeshift jail cell for Legends figures and Titan Masters.
Those cats are amazing, photo/videobombing pros.
The cats make the video :-) I love your reviews, natural and fun. Cheers :-)
this is awesome, fortress maximus has always been on my childhood "must get" list. sad I never receive one. and now they are making an updated version? nice!
Fortress was the headmaster in the japanese anime. He just never turned into his smaller form because...only highbrow thought it would make sense to speak to humans on their size level.
that cat on the side is just not caring LOL
nevermind, decided to walk on the back of the toy
It is now tradition for cats to be in a Fortress Maximus video!
Looks good just wish he had the cannons on the sides of his lower torso. Great review
watching this review ...reminds me of a deja vu with your cats! lmao! didnt one of your cats do the same thing with your G1 Fort Max review? lmao! none the less...this was a great review overall! like how they re-molded this figure from Metroplex into Fort Max very well done indeed! I definitely have to get this one! Your reviews are top notch in my opinion!! :)
lmao well at the kitchen table....the cats always are curious what i'm doing, so they come and check up on me lol
Awe! thats cute! long as it just your cats checking up on you tho! lol
In the Japanese series Fortress/Cerebros did have a Headmaster named Fortress. Both the small head and his larger transtector were both called Fortress, and both were shown in the series. :)
actually celebros was the smaller headmaster

I recently watched the Headmaster series and NEVER saw a separate head for "Cerebro"...

Like I said, he only shows up a few times for very short little bits, usually in flashbacks and only later in the series.
I think the hinge on fort max's arm is for posing with the master sword (sold separately)
I think you should have your cat as part of your size comparisons from now on ;-)
Great review and this is a must get for me
excellent start with the headmasters theme
I was not planning on getting this behemouth. But nw, oh yeah. Nice review, my friend. Looks like my Titan Metroplex is goung to have a friend to keep him company. Now we need some Decepticon Titans. ;)
Emesarry should actually be Spike unless this is the RID1 version. We never got a toy of Brave Maximus in the us so would be nice if they released this figure in those colors.
This is the best gigantic Transformer in the world Optibotimus 👏🏻😎
i just thought of something in the american g1 (the episodes i'm referring to weren't aired in japan instead they got headmasters) cerebros was modified not only to have a head master but to be one so what was his alt mode before not like you can just scan a giant head lol XD and before anyone says anything i know he actually turns into the tower in alt mode but originally fort max himself was just an ordinary city it too was modified into a giant robot
Other than the leg cannons, Hasbro really met the challenge of making a new FortMax figure head on. **ba-dum-tss**
