    Would kecap manis work to replace the thick soy sauce? Thank you for your video!

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  Год назад +2

      @DianaTW, I am not sure as I have not tried, but I think it would be ok however need to reduce the amount of sugar as the kecap manis is already very sweet by itself. Happy cooking 😀😀

      I tried it, it works but since there's sugar it can make the sauce sweeter. Just reduce a few tablespoons of sugar.

    For Those who don't have Onions oil.
    Take 1 Green onion whole chop all of it finely and then add it to a cup of oil and either warm it on stove or microwave it for about 1-3 minutes

    Have you tried switching onion oil to garlic oil instead? Would it change the flavour drastically ? Thank you for the video - will be my weekend plan because WANTAN MEE IS LIFE!

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  2 года назад +1

      Hi Kuhain Guruseelan, thank you for the question 😀 Actually I have not tried it with garlic oil. I imagine it would change the flavour quite a bit as onion oil is a little sweeter and has a subtle fragrance than garlic oil. If you do try it with garlic oil, please let me know how it turns out 😀 Currently I'm in Thailand and will not be able to experiment before the weekend comes. Hope it turns out amazing either way! 😀

    สอบถามเกี่ยวกับ light soy sauce กับ thick soy sauce ค่ะ จะหาซื้อในไทยดูค่ะ
    Light soy sauce คือ ซีอิ๊วขาวใช่รึเปล่าคะ ประมาณซอสตราเด็กสมบูรณ์ได้มั้ยคะ
    Thick soy sauce คือ ซีอิ๊วดำ??? หรือต้องซื้อซอสของมาเลเซียเท่านั้นคะ

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  2 года назад +1

      Hi Khun ooM Arisa
      ใช่ค่ะ Light soy sauce คือ ซีอิ๊วขาว และ Thick soy sauce คือ ซีอิ๊วดำ แต่รสชาดมันจะต่างกันนิดหน่อยค่ะ ของไทยจะกลมกล่อมกว่าของมาเลเซีย แต่ซีอิ้วดำของมาเลจะไม่มีรสขมมากค่ะ ใช้แทนกันได้ค่ะ

    • @um2you
      @um2you 2 года назад

      ขอบคุณมากค่า ลองทำแล้วโดยใช้ซอสที่ไทย กลิ่น,รสแอบไม่ค่อยเหมือนนิดหน่อยค่ะ ตอนนี้เลยลองสั่งซอสมาจากมาเลยเซีย เดี๋ยวลองอีกทีค่า ขอบคุณนะคะ 😊

    Can we omit the cooking process? Why do we need to cook the sauce ?

    • @HomeCookingwithSomjit
      @HomeCookingwithSomjit  2 года назад

      Hi Jeff Phoon, thank you for the question 😀 Yes, the cooking process can be omitted if the sauce will be consumed on the same day without leftovers. For me, as I'm making the sauce in advance, I'm cooking the sauces so that it can be kept beyond a day. It also results in a more homogenous sauce.
      Usually, sauces that are mixed without cooking will turn bad after it is kept for a few days. Hope it helps 😀

    It is ok just try not to mix the oil with the water ingredients. You can mix the oil to other oil but not to water solvent ingredients.

      @zulkifli2006. Thank you for the suggestion. In this recipe all the ingredients should be mixed together. 😀😀
