My name is Gina. I just want to say that this song by the Rolling Stone has touched my heart deeply. This song I would like to dedicate this song in the behalf of my mother passed away five months ago. And to my love Elton Greenwood almost two Month's ago. We were to be married on March 19 2013. But he passed away March 18-2013. My you both R. I. P. I miss and love you both dearly...
Hi Gina. My name is Evan, I happened to get on this Wild Horses tutorial quite at random with my guitar, trying to glean something from Alfred Instruction(this guy is quite a good guitar player btw) and your post caught my eye. I noticed it was 7 years ago the untimely deaths of your mother and fiance had happened and it saddened me . I had to reach out to you and ask you how you've been and how you come to terms with a double dose of tragedy that you've been forced to endure. The tribute to your mom and fiance was so perfect. I hope your life is going well and you're in a good patch now. God Bless You
This is a helpful lesson, both clear and substantive. I know that the original uses open G tuning, but for someone at my level it's great to be able to start first in standard tuning.
Hi Scott - The instructor for this video says: The acoustic guitar was originally in open G on either a 12-string or a 6-string plus a Nashville tuned guitar. Since this video is part of our Ultimate Easy Play-along series we decided to teach the guitar in standard tuning. The original voicings in G tuning are major and minor voicings that are not different from standard tuned voicings. In most of our videos we did choose to use the original tunings. I should have mentioned this on the video.
As I play "learn" most of my songs I do it by ear,I had no idea that this is done in open "G",that explains the intro.....great lesson it's taught me a couple of usefull tips ,nice one mate,,,GREAT solo'ing...
For people just learning the guitar its best to use standard tuning. They would to confused moving right into open tuning. Its important for beginners to learn as many standard chords as possible, then after advancing try out open tuning. The teacher here made the right choice.
If its done in altered tuning then perhaps being "advanced" its not something that should be used to show a beginner. While a beginner can't hear it, someone whose been playing some time will hear this and say... Not even close. Sounds sour.
Thank you! The videos we show here are excerpted from our book/DVD series called Allred's Ultimate Easy Play-along. We have complete book/DVD sets for the Stones, Zeppelin, early Beatles, Grateful Dead and John Lennon. The DVD's also include full play-along tacks with software that allows you to create your own mix. And all our books are fully licensed and artist approved.
Hey Alf, does the companion Book/DVD Series for the Stones give set up tips for electric gat/amps etc? I have played acoustic for many years but got a Epi Les Paul Studio and a Yam THC10 to learn electric guitar. Finding this channel has inspired me to pick up my axe once again. Thank you
It was like when I taught my self the rain song led zepp,,I did it mostly by ear then I looked at my guitar tab and I had it naild,,,,and I wonderd why it sounded a lot higher in the film version the song remains the same, until my mate told me that it was done in OPEN TUNING,But when I do it on stage it sounds great with too guitars in different tuning,it's like an extra track,,,lol
Thank u Scott i can play ican play! Question i m looking for a lesson. Struck out everywhere Collective Soul Shine December acoustic version i would appreciate any info thank u for being a very good instructor
How was I not asking nicely? I wasn't being rude AT ALL, and yet you turn around and call me a prick? Read my comment, then read yours, and ask yourself again who's being rude. Also, if I wanted to figure the song out for myself I wouldn't be watching a video created to teach it to me.

dude! how the buck did you get so good ?
What's wrong with you ? Are you sick? Always you're the best.
lieben Dank
The song is done in b minor............
to a prior comment, not sure why you did not use the Open G lesson...which I am sure you know how to play.
Didn't Keith Richards say in his book "Life" that the acoustic guitar parts were played on a twelve string guitar in open "G". Very well played.
That's how i learned it years ago g tuned 12string with the action so high capo'd on the second fret 😆
Where is part two?
open G tuning might be a little helpful
Isn't this song done in a open G tuning??
The lead fills are played by Mick Taylor, not Keith.
no vocal ? im confused but im indonesian -_-
for the lead parts you should tell us what you're doing, not just play it
