Great looking shmup with some fantastic effects, but it’s tough and nails. The enemies surrounding you ain’t particularly fair, it takes quite a bit of practice.

Yup, you can say that again, definitely one for a live show :)

This is a tough game! Judicious use of the three weapons equipped to your ship is crucial in order to stand the best chance!

Lol, ya, started off quite easy, but I ended up button mashing.

The L and R buttons allow you to cycle between the three weapons that you selected before the level (they are depicted in the top-right corner and the highlighted one is the one that you're currently using).
The Round Vulcan is unique in that, when you first start firing it, the shots go diagonally behind you and, as you keep the fire-button held down, they gradually arc to diagonally in front of you. When you release the fire-button the weapon keeps firing but gradually arcs backwards and only stops once it is at that original starting angle when you first started firing it (but pressing and holding that button again can interrupt that at any time to send it gradually going forwards again). That is the best way to deal with those enemies that completely surround you near the start.
Each time you take a minor knock you lose the currently-selected weapon and will switch to one of the remaining ones (if you have one). That is why, when you took a hit whilst firing the laser, you suddenly started using the Round Vulcan. If you lose all three of those weapons then you can take just one hit before you lose a life. However, that all only applies to minor knocks; a major knock will kill you instantly no matter how many of those weapons still remain!
