Miss Elliott, Porsche's seventh and eighth grade English teacher, played a pivotal role in her life. Despite Porsche's inherent mistrust for authority figures Miss Elliott stood out by genuinely investing in Porsche's interests and growth. Miss Elliott tailored the curriculum to her student's preferences, fostering Porsche's skills as a writer and encouraging her to challenge ideas through her essays. Importantly, she was the first teacher to believe in Porsche's potential and actively encouraged her to pursue higher education, initiating discussions about college and her future career aspirations from a young age. Her support and mentorship helped Porsche develop self-advocacy skills and shaped her educational journey in profound ways.
