In order to Remove your forgotten password on your Android phone or Tablet your only option is a factory reset. With a factory reset you will lose all data including all your photos, videos, apps, music, documents, etc so hopefully you have a backup of your important data. Once you factory reset your phone will be just like when you first purchased it and took it out of the box.
If there was a way to bypass your password or fingerprint it should not be posted publicly as thief's will be able to retrieve your personal info. I remember there was a case on the Samsung Galaxy S3 back in the day where you could infact bypass your password using the emergency number on the lock screen and entering some numbers with an asterisk, but Samsung quickly resolved that with an update.

If your phone does not have an actual home button and your home button is part of the touch screen you want to hold the volume down button and the power button in at the same time until the options menu pops up, then you use the volume up/down buttons to move to the factory reset option and press the power button to select. Hopefully this helps.

That is what it says on mine, very easy let me help you, press 3 buttons together and hold for a few seconds, then when you see warning on your screen, just press the volume top button only ones, and the phone will start to reboot, he will work very easy. Try then let me know
What you do is click 'restart' and whilst it's restarting, use 'volume up + home + power' and you'll get to the recovery menu like in the video

I havn't forgotten my password - but I do want to chance the time interval in which it locks which seems to be set at less than 30 seconds! I might be looking at data or preparing to take a photo, I'm distracted for maybe 20 seconds and I then have to enter the password again! I'm all for the phone going to lock mode if the phone is in my pocket for while, but not while I'm actually using it!

But when I go to power off I need to put in the password
here, had the same problem. When you press volume down+home+power off, and hold them, the phone will restart even with the pin code locking the phone. Then, right after the screen goes black, you let go of everything, and very quickly hold volume up+home+power off. Then it will boot into the recovery. If you fail, try again. I also didn't succeed the first time, because I didn't let go of the buttons first, before switching to the other set of buttons.
