I bought it as an experienced MtG but new EDH player with another group of 5. Slivers, Dragons, etc. Seemed the most prudent coming in fresh with a Thief deck being already familiar with rogue/Ninja mechanics haha.
I think another little but really good upgrade is Saryth and Propaganda, Saryth cause it’s Hexproof until you tap a creature and deathtouch on attack so it’s block deterrent and protection for Gonti. Propaganda is good as a shield cause when you don’t have Edric out you’re definitely a target at all times, so anything to keep the heat off you is great! Another fun but kinda odd one is Inga and Esika cause it’s vigilance so you aren’t sacrificing blockers and you make everything a mana dork and because of Gonti’s any mana rule (if I’m understanding it right) that “Creature Only” mana can be used for enchantments and Instants/Sorceries cause it can be treated as any mana. Even if that’s not true the vigilance on top of extra mana is great esp with saryth
Great video as always! Tlincalli Hunter is great in this deck. On one side its Regrowth for a creature, the other lets you play a creature for free from exile each turn.
Wizened Snitches and Lantern of Insight. They both have players play with the top card of their libraries revealed so you can best allocate attackers, and Snitches is an evasive Flyer and Lantern is a cheap artifact that even lets you force a shuffle
One huge upgrade I recommend for everyone is Belbe, Corrupted Observer. If you can hit all opponents you get three cards off them and 6 mana to cast those spells.
So double strike means a creature does first strike and normal combat damage. Attacking a player with a creature that has first strike and a creature that deals normal damage will also result in two trigger. 😁 Double strike is pretty rare in sultai without using equipment and idk if it’s worth at that point.
First strike basically lets you get 2 extra steals on 1 opponent, cause FS creature hits and activates Gonti, then the regular combat step creatures hit and Gonti activates again because First Strike is a separate thing. Double strike also obviously works, it’s just that FS works basically the same
Double Strike works too, but in a boardstate where, for example, you have three creatures with first strike and three creatures without it, attacking in pairs to each opponent, you get one Gonti trigger when each first striker hits, and then another one when each normal striker hits, for a total of 6 cards robbed
? A creature with first strike deals combat damage before creatures without first strike. It doesn't get more than one hit, that would be double strike.
Explain this first strike you are talking about. Not double strike which you are inferring. First strike damage to a player is not 2 hits. it just hits first so 1 instance of damage to a player, not 2 instances of damage, right??
Right my point was the first strike damage happens at a different time because it has its own damage phase. So if we attack the same player with 2 creature and one has first strike we can net an extra trigger off of him 😁 Remember double strike just means a creature does first strike and normal combat damage. Double strike would also satisfy the interaction I’m talking about and net us 2 triggers but there’s no creatures with double strike in sultai colors. There’s only equipment. I hope this helps 😁
By itself yes, but it effectively powers up based on your opponents deck power, making it adaptable for many situations. It would be hard to assign a power level to this one as it effectively can be an 8 and a 3 at the same time 🤣
My friend is buying this for the sole purpose of annoying tf outta us. A thing of beauty.
Send it!

Good man, I'm doing the exact same hahaha. I want to leave the table hated 😂
Planning on getting this one, so I appreciate the udgrade deck tech!

I love gonti because it will always play at the level at the pod since youre grabbing from everyones decks
Please do one for Quick Draw!

Can you help me with the cuts?

I dig that suggestion!
Didn't you just confuse first strike with double strike for the doubling up of triggers?

@@decktechsfordecks that's pretty neat tech then. Thanks!

Would love a Felix 5 boots upgrade guide
You use all the protection boots and all 10 swords as your win con
I’m planning on building an entire deck around him! He’s to cool not to!
I honestly has low expectations for this precon. but after playing it, it won my heart :)
put n'gathrod in there btw
I think generally precon's commanders are underrated because we see only upgrades of precons and not full list made of them
Did you mean double strike?
If you attack a player with a first-strike creature and a regular creature you’ll have hit them twice. Double strike works too
First strike works too but you need another creatures without first strike in order to get both triggers

Planning on adding Rhystic study, cyclonic rift, sword of feast and famine, sakashima, and fierce guardianship!

I love your content man, your voice is so smooth ❤️

@@decktechsfordecks and thus would bypass the one or more creatures dealing combat damage to a player part?
Exactly 😁
Hmm... Gonti, canny acquisitor, you say!?
It's not a strong deck at all, it's a gimmick deck. Super super super casual, 0 level. Meh maybe a level 3-4.
It's cedh...
You steal people's combos with unblockables and get ramp to cast them all
