ACTUALLY having a seperate volume controller than windows is what makes this headset so unique i find it rather strange that you mention it as if it were some sort of draw back , if i want to put my windows volume for high and have both outside speaker plus my headphones play at the same time i would find a hard time doing so , this is the only headphones that gives you that abilty after all why would you have the windows volume change if the arctis 7 does that for you you can go from mute to very high with these , i think you missed that one
ha interesting perspective. yeah maybe it just depends on the use case, as i would never really have external audio playing if i had my headphones on. but i could see how some may have the preference for seperate controls. i like the simplicity of one control, that way i don't have to mess with constantly dialing them in. i would think that would be the majority viewpoint, but i could be wrong!
Just bought the steelseries arctis 7 on sale for 105 dollars, one of the best headset i've used, great sound and great 7.1 surround sound. The steelseries software is fantastic to for tweaking sounds and mic levels. 10/10 so far
hey! do you play FPS games like R6? i just bought the arctis 7 2019 edition, and i think that my cloud revolver s were just better on the positional sound? or what EQ settings are you using? i will reaplly apreciate your help thanks!!
@@Nicolas10391 mmm now is hard to tell, im using the arctis rigth now, and i just get used to it, but the revolver s were pretty good on positional sound, with the arrtics its just ok, maybe if i play with the EQ settings i could improve the arctis idk
G933 as you said, are too damn uncomfortable, after 1 hour of use I just wanted to take them off. No, thanks. G533 sound is a bit worse than G933 but they are not as uncomfortable. Battery life is better. Artics 7 (2019 edition) fixed the problem you had with the 2 volume wheels and as you said they are really comfortable, sound was really good to me as well after tweaking them with APO EQ. Also tried the HyperX Flight, they sound really good, are pretty damn comfortable (wasn't expecting them to be tbf) and the battery lasts for 30h with leds off, which is insane. But they have a major problem which is a deal breaker for me, the wireless range is too short compared to the others. So I'm debating between Artics 7 (2019 edition) and G533. And great video btw, ignore the haters, good to see some of us do actually care about what we are purchasing and using.
I believe the fabric on the Logitech headsets is for durability, as the leather dries up and flakes apart after a year or two, especially in dry climates. Hopefully they have come to their senses and used more metal and less cheap plastic which can crack and break in critical areas, otherwise they would be better off to just include replacement earpiece covers. I've owned an F540 and two G930s, and durability has always been an issue. Unfortunately, no one seems to do a better job than Logitech so we're stuck with them for now!
Try the Plantronics RIG 800HD they're REALLY Comfortable and its plugnplay, only downside is that the mic quality isn't that great... Now I'm in doubt to either get the Arctics 7 or the RIG 800HD. DTS:X 2.0 vs Dolby Atmos.
Thanks for your in depth review, regarding the excessive amount of swivel, the larger degree of swivel allows the headphone cups to rest flat on your upper chest while the headphones are around the neck and not in use.
The g933 is known for the clamping force being very loose. And why I’m the product pic does the 933 have a different ear pad. I bought mine and it had a comfortable leather ear pad.
A very good review and thanks a heap but the deal breaker for both of them is that they aren't wireless when using them with a smartphone. Maybe I'm after too much is a set of wireless headphones. Again thanks for the review it has helped me. And a BIG thumbs up.
ha thansk a lot kym. hey have you looked into the steelseries arcits pro wireless? it has 2 channels, one wireless and the other bluetooth so you have have it connected to both at the same time. (a pc and a smartphone)
techfreshness I’ve been looking into the Arctic Pro Wireless. That wireless multi-functionality is what I’m looking for but I want to make sure the audio quality is better than my Sennheiser Game Zeros. Do you know if it is?
Each year I research wireless gaming headsets and each year I'm disappointed lol. I started with Astro gen 1 a50's years ago and now I'm on gen 3. They're so overpriced, but there isn't real competition that covers every console and PC like they do, sound great with custom EQ settings, and fit my big head/ears very comfortably. I'm trying to get away from these particular gen 3 that I own because it has a bad connection issue with the base. Not sure if they all experience this, but I can have the base 1-2 feet away from me on the desk with nothing in between and it still cuts out like crazy. So much dropping that sometimes I have to keep my hand on the mouse when I'm watching RUclips or a movie just to be ready to pause the video so I don't miss what people are saying. That's pretty sad for such expensive headphones.
man i couldn't agree with you more, i don't have the exact same issue like you describe, but i am on board that there aren't any really perfect/coveted wireles gaming headphones out there imo
I had horrible connection quality with my old Logitech F540 and G930 as well, I think it has more to do with being in an apartment building with other people using their microwave or other 2.4GHz wireless devices like laptops or mice.
Have you tried the Plantronics 800hd's? They are super light so comfort isn't an issue and the atmos is impressive. The 500's which my son has are great and louder but I do like the wireless aspect.
actually i find your review to be extremely useful, and much much better than all of those top 5 and top 6 headsets, because i do rather want to hear someone talking about his experience with different headsets he already own and been using for a long time, than hear someone talking about what he think is good or bad. also i like the fact that you didn't recommend any of them, it tells me that you are not paid to make a review. i have been watching tons of videos in the last 3 days and couldn't decide between g533, g933, arctis 7. and even more since i have found the g933 and arctis 7 at sale for almost the same price as the g533. i'm going to pick up the g533. Thank you
I have a question: I have the Logitech G933, I really like the audio quality, also the surround sound which is outstanding.. but I find them incredibly uncomfortable. I am looking for an upgrade, something with a better build quality, more comfortable, something that don’t necessarily have RGB lighting or the ton of programable macro keys, and it’s actually fine by me if they won’t be wireless (although I would strongly prefer them to be), but if anything, I can’t have them to have worse sound and surround sound quality, if I am upgrading then to something with the same if not better audio quality. Anyway.... what would you suggest? You seem like someone that understand this kind of stuff and I would really like your help on this. i have an arctis 3 they are not wireless but they have pretty much the same build quality of arctis 7 , from comfort side , they are really really the most comfy i have ever used i can put them for hours without feeling my ears hot or my headcompressed , i play R6S with them and i can really tell the direction from where someone is coming from their footsteps although its analogue and the explosions and sounds overall very dtailed and good so you can imagine arctis 7 as good choice comfort wise but i dont know if the sound quality differs that much between headsets , after all i think headsets most valuable asset is the comfort side since you are playing games mostly and high ris sound is not an issue after all a very professional headset would less likely be wireless
I skipped around a bit, but, is it just me or did he not talk about it mentioned the Corsair void headset, even though it's in the description and thumbnail?

G933 for life no other way (I do own the g933 for about 8 months and is my my favorite ( I spent 2 years searching for best headset for me it was the all beautiful g933)
reason why they make it so you can get to the battery is so you can change it say after 6-12 months the battery starts to fade you can change it .... and the most comfy headphones iv ever used tried a few
That's funny I've always used turtle beaches my head and ears would hurt. now that I have the Logitech g933 I find them comfy for hours of gaming the clamping isn't bad after a break in
Alex Herskovits get the Logitech g533 but I also recommend the Corsair hs70 if your going to be paying that much because in my opinion they are the best for that price
I am using a Logitech g933 headset since 2016 and I can tell you that this is the best Headset you can have, unfortunately, I had troubles with it for a few times, I changed the g933 after using them for 1 year and after that, I've got an issue with the framework of the setup. I am going to buy them again right now because they are the best for me, and the sound is amazing, after all, they are headphones.
Corsair HS70 seems like good headset but ear cups do not swivel so you cant wear it around your neck which I think is an important feature for a wireless headset to have. HyperX Cloud flight is a good choice, only stereo but longer battery life and looks comfortable.
Totally agree with your reasoning here on putting comfort first, controls second, and audio last. Headset audio quality always beats speakers anyway, and audiophiles are going to want to go with a wired headset anyway. cool redscourge, glad you was feeling me on that!. i don't think those corsairs were out at the time, i do like corsair hardware generally speaking but those don't seem to be well rated although that doesn't always mean everything, and i don't like the mic arrangement on it
TheRedScourge, headset audio quality always beats speakers? Wait, lmao. What? You just didn’t say that, you mean soundbars or sub $100 dollar speaker, right? I am talking about real speakers with a proper amp, you know, right?
@@jaybee0507 The distortion from small but good speakers right next to your ear is always going to be less than amazing speakers far away. Unless perhaps you listen to music in some sort of near sound-proof room. There are theoretical limits on signal to noise ratio.
@@theredscourge I'm not sure about noise floor. How about the sound stage, imaging and dynamics? To be honest, i can't understand why would you even say something like that, unless you don't have any experience with high end speaker sets at all. That's just ridiculous. Maybe i'm missing something here.
I have the g933 and I love em, I know that the cushions on the g533 are terrible but that's why I tried the g933 and they are much softer, and they breathe! So I am somewhat clueless about how they are not comfortable, but it's a subject of personal preference so I will keep my curiosity to my self.
i tried em, nice, but didn't like the no on screen volume feedback and still had the same wierd mic mechanism. plus i dind't like having to hook up a whole nother usb box to the pc in order to be able to use it. they were the most comfortable headphones i've ever put on though

S John for me i think steelseries arctis pro + gamedac. Over all better sound, but g933 is a lot cheaper so you wont lose if you choose either one of these
I just got the Arctis Pro for black Friday and I'm loving it. I'm on PS4 only and it works awesome for it. The sound is incredible, the GameDAC is awesome and really lets you customize it just how you like it. I haven't heard any distortion or had any issues in the 24+ hours that I've used it since Saturday. I highly recommend it but it is pricy. I got it for $220 with a 4yr Squaretrade warranty which I thought was a solid deal
Corsair CA-9011178-NA HS70 SE Wireless Gaming Headset CORSAIR VOID PRO RGB Wireless Gaming Headset with DOLBY HEADPHONE 7.1 Surround Sound for PC - White HyperX HX-HSCF-BK/AM Cloud Flight Wireless Gaming Headset for PC/PS4
@@techfreshness right now im testing hyperxcloud,g933,corsair void pro wireless, and corsair hs70 se so far hyperx and g933 are the best but 933 might be a little better because of loud sound, stereo but hyperx is quiet but more light and comfortable
I have the Steelseries one and with the soft cushion earpads they sound terrible, definitely invest in getting the "leather" ones, then it'll definitely beat both Logitech headsets ;)
techfreshness Of course, I was about to send them back actually until I've bought the leather ones. They do a better job at making a seal around your ear and building up pressure for bass which the soft ones aren't able to do.
I have them and they're quite quiet on PS4 coming from the Cloud 2's with the USB sound card. The quality is better but I'm considering returning them because I'm missing the extra volume but I'm stumped which others to get?

So I am somewhat clueless about how they are not comfortable, but it's a subject of personal preference so I will keep my curiosity to my self.
i have also heard that some ship with slightly different pads so maybe that was the case?
what about the void pro?
i tried em, nice, but didn't like the no on screen volume feedback and still had the same wierd mic mechanism. plus i dind't like having to hook up a whole nother usb box to the pc in order to be able to use it. they were the most comfortable headphones i've ever put on though
tks btw
Great video! Where did you get the leather pads for the g533? I hate how uncomfortable the pads they come with are
hey thanks, and sorry for the late reply it was these amzn.to/2LHQjUz
You go straight to the real important things to me... I've been watching tons of other videos but you are the one that helped me make my mind. Keep up the good work 👍
nice! did you end up choosing one yet?
so for wired gaming headsets do you recommend the hyperX cloud alpha's??? thanks
Steelseries pro with gamedac
my favorite ever is hyper X cloud ones
i've had heard those are pretty good. although i'm not down with the way the mic is connected. asmr, so so so strange, yet erotic, yet soothing. i'm confused
not sure why they wouldn't be
nice how are you likin?
I still have it :)
suwheet
you should have tried the asus strix 7.1 they are by far the best solution... for me...
nice, i was not aware of them i may have to check them out. i'm not a huge fan of the big receiver box though
No mic test?
Great video!
thanks cosyg
Hi, how is SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDAC compared to Logitech 933? which one is better?
G933
The steelseries are really good
TLDR?
I need one thats compatible with ps4 and pc help!

@@euxine what about these
Corsair CA-9011178-NA HS70 SE Wireless Gaming Headset
CORSAIR VOID PRO RGB Wireless Gaming Headset with DOLBY HEADPHONE 7.1 Surround Sound for PC - White
HyperX HX-HSCF-BK/AM Cloud Flight Wireless Gaming Headset for PC/PS4
@@youngguru6057 hey young so which set did you end up going wtih?
@@techfreshness right now im testing hyperxcloud,g933,corsair void pro wireless, and corsair hs70 se
so far hyperx and g933 are the best but 933 might be a little better because of loud sound, stereo but hyperx is quiet but more light and comfortable
I have g933s and they are amazing for me
they stop working after a year or so. atleast for me and many other people
@@yunits same here the fuckin sucks, spent way too much money on g933 that dies after warranty is out
It is Works for PS4 too?
yeap
I have the Steelseries one and with the soft cushion earpads they sound terrible, definitely invest in getting the "leather" ones, then it'll definitely beat both Logitech headsets ;)
Which 'leather' ones are you referring?
you think the ear cushions make that much of a difference in audio?
techfreshness Of course, I was about to send them back actually until I've bought the leather ones. They do a better job at making a seal around your ear and building up pressure for bass which the soft ones aren't able to do.
@@EpicLPer But are the leather ones as comfortable?
get the cloud flights
cloud flights you say, did those just come out?
I have them and they're quite quiet on PS4 coming from the Cloud 2's with the USB sound card. The quality is better but I'm considering returning them because I'm missing the extra volume but I'm stumped which others to get?
Such a whiny cry baby lol. He will never find a perfect one unless he gets it customized for him specifically.
haah its true i'm a picky sob
Yeah you just want to critizise everything
If you just find a tiiiiiiny problem you need to make it a big deal
@@frederikkejrgensen4514 And i can totally understand him. At that price point, every tiny imperfection should be pointed out, be it only his preference of a production flaw. And only then you can decide for yourself if you want that product.
@@frederikkejrgensen4514 its true sorry. i just have that tendency ha
@@techfreshness 0:28 that mic is excited to cu
Lol I tried out the Arctis 3 and Void Pros and ended up going with the Logitech G533 because of their comfort. So kinda subjective I guess.
no surround sound yet for that projector?
ah man fraid not yet, but hopefully within a few months!
