U didnt keep it in long enuff...soon as u washed it out it should of instantly curled without u doing all that to it...u supposed to comb it 10-15 mins or 15-25 mins or longer (until it forms a deep S wave in ur hair) depending on hair texture...nice tho😌
Cantu contains alcohol that leaves your hair dryed out. They have changed the ingredient list and the ingredients now include isopropyl alcohol aka rubbing alcohol. It's not what it is anymore, please be careful.
@@victoriakapshaw I put my stop watch on 10 mins before starting to apply the proxy n rinse exactly 10 mins n I have extremely dry strong hair with no sign of curl n after shampoo it's all curly... no sponge needed ntn
I got the same affect without putting texturizer (chemical) in my natural hair and my hair is a little shorter than yours. I use s-curl moisturizer which is awesome and a sponge to define my curls and it worked for me and I have very course hair.
Used to use that back in the early 90s on my high top fade. From my experience the Sportin' waves was best, followed by Duke and there was another one in a green box that I forget and don't see anymore before the S-curl one. S-curl seemed to wear off quicker. But you can probably get the same effect nowadays with a deep conditon, the correct moisturizers and certain brushes that will relax your curl pattern. Similar to getting waves in your hair without pomade.
+Nate TheDaddy yeah it does wear off quicker than I would like it too. I was natural for 4 yrs before i decided to cut and relax it. Ive always used the deep conditioner way but I thought I'd try something new. Thanks for sharing your advice
Miles Allen - Bro, don't use murray's. Ain't nothing but a bunch of petroleum and chemical fragrance. Take 10 buck get stick of beeswax, tub of shea butter and some black jamaica castor oil, take two spoons each of beeswax and shea butter put it in a glass bowl microwave it for 45 seconds stir in a spoonful of that castor oil and wait 30 minutes. Should be enough pomade to last you a week or two without putting gas on your head.
Miles Allen - I feel generous this morning. You can you use a great many of natural oils along with that recipe, try a bunch of them. I been doing so myself, when I find the perfect recipe, I may try selling it.
***** - Deep condition it with olive oil added. Keep it under a plastic cap for about 1.5-2 hours, rinse with cool water and you won't need an S-curl. Don't be cheap with the conditioner and you'll get great results. Try one of the OGX brand.
I tried S-Curl on my hair twice. Once, my hair was in transition mode, and the texturizer didn't get all the way down to my roots, but I could still feel the curl. The thing is....the s-curl made the already relaxed part of my hair kind of gummy and unmanageable. I wanted curls because I love curls, and both of my parents had S-Curl. So i "Bit the Bullet" as it were, and went to the barbershop to get a TWA. Yep. Cut it down to the new growth. So, the second time my dad put the S-Curl in my hair, it did exactly what it was supposed to do, and I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! I hope you have the same results. Now I see why people say that a texturizer shouldn't be done on previously relaxed hair. The two will NOT work well together.
Betonite Clay (do not add apple cider vinegar just water a lil bit of oil) extra virgin olive oil (to seal) and natural gel (kinky Curly). I do this every day or every 3days and my curls are poppin...no chemicals needed 😁😁
You look good but I think I like it better if you use the wash and go instead of the texturizer you didn't do too well on the s curl but you look beautiful
Please Help: I've had my s curl in for a week and decided to wash it a week after I put it in. After washing my hair has become more frizzy than before when it had relaxed curls. I've been putting more and more spray activator in my hair trying to get it back to how it was before I washed it. But it hasn't helped much. I curious to know if I can resort to putting the 2nd half of the texture in creme in my hair. so pretty much doing the whole scurl texture process all over again. Is that a good idea? Is there a way for me to get my hair back to the way before I washed it?
+Ink Knight I'm no expert on hair but I do know that it's best to wait before applying texturizer to your hair again. You don't wanna damage it and cause fall out. If you don't wanna wait I'd say wait a month at least. Try some styling gel instead that is made specifically for curly hair like Carols Daughter or Eco Styler Gel. Let me know if it helps.
It can, but if you're willing to take care of it, it'll be fine. Some hair is more trouble than others though, so if your hair is having trouble already without it, you don't want to use it.
+Quirki I tried it once it just made my hair softer kinda then two weeks later, it brought out curls i only see when ittts wet and some curlier strands, when it gets dry it goes back to like the 4b/4c I got after like a day like when i sleep, so ig it just helped with keeping in more moisture in my hair
Maybe use a curl definer? Like a curling cream/gel. And sometimes 4c hair won't completely curl with the texturizer. It certainly won't get loose curls, but it may just be the lack something to weigh down the hair a bit.
+Quirki actually nvm curls came out glorious lol just had to put scurl no drip and cantu leave in conditioner..but I also put in coconut oil and shea curling smoothie
@@marceniahill wow 12 mins it hardly even changed. I put mine into the hair for 3 mins and combed it out for less than 7 mins and now its bone straight. I had 4a hair before. 12 mins is longggg
Hey, I've been natural since 6th grade (I'm going into 11th) , I wear braid or I crochet them and my hair has grown so much ( the first time I flat ironed it, it was 3 inches above my bra clasp) now I want to start flat ironing it and leaving it out. Should I do a texturizer? Or just keep flat ironing it?
A texturizer has chemicals just like a perm has. The only difference is that it doesn't make your hair bone straight like a perm. If you want your hair to revert back and be just as healthy as it is now I wouldsuggest getting a silk press or using a product called Etae.
+Paula Guthrie A texturizer does not "bring out your natural curl" as the person before me said. Natural means you don't have to do anything to it. Your "natural curl" is what God gave you, what your hair looks like before it is chemically altered. A texturizer weakens that. It denatures the proteins in your hair to loosen your curl pattern by damaging the chemical bonds. If your hair is straight, it is not going to give you curls. I believe there are perms that are actually meant to give you curls, but a texturizer is not what you're looking for.

Right!
