My daughter uses the Aunt Jackie's curl la la she doesn't use a conditioner though but the curl Lala she uses and it curls her hair so beautifully she really loves it

You may need to do your hair while dripping wet and try to wet your hair alot during thw week. My niece has hair like that its just not use to being moist

Nia, I cut 12” of my locs in April, rocked 6-7” of loose natural until Sept, and then decided that I was so over stressing about my hair, so I cut it off (about the length of yours with a taper). Since April I’ve been experimenting with ALL kinds of products, even the Cantu leave-in and curl cream. I wasn’t pleased with the cream, so the Cantu got thrown in my product cemetery lol, UNTIL yesterday when I watched this video!! I revived the leave-in and bought the custard (I had just bought the Creme of Nature pudding 2 days before-couldn’t decide btwn the pudding or custard, and then I didn’t even like the results, so it was tossed in the “cemetery” too ⚰️). But yesterday when I used the Cantu leave-in with the custard.....LIFE!!! My curls had FINALLY come to life w/o the sponge, which I believe dries and pulls your hair. Phew! I’m done 😅 I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!

I use Aunt Jackie's and I have never an issue with the curl definition. But the one you should have put in the competition was Asiam...their products are the bomb...a little pricey but not as pricey as some of the ones you had on your list. Btw, you could have gone to the Family Dollar and got the Aunt Jackie's ALOT cheaper. Also, you should have put Shea Moisture in the competition.

I liked Kinky Curly because of the curl definition. I used it when my hair was long and after I did a big chop. It worked better on my short hair. What I didn't like were the flakes after a few days because I didn't like wetting my hair daily.

Good vid for your hair type.this is an excellent example to show all hair is different and the outcome of all products actually depends on hair type.if we want to go natural,expressly wash n go,we must experiment and spend some money to find what works.know it also depends on age.young hair generally has more porosity and bouancy vs aged/gray hair.what worked when young will not necessarily continue to work as the years go by.one last factor is how long an individual has worn natural hair.its best to have never use a straightner,(as in pressing,flat iron,relaxers or even coloring agents).so this journey begins in childhood to be most accurate.WOW THAT WAS LONG WINDED.apologies 😶
I used curl la la and my hair is set at least a week and a half. I get comments about how beautiful my hair looks and people are surprised when I tell them it's our a week old. Yesssss waiting on my kinky curly knot and custard to come Monday. Couldn't find it in any stores in my city. Cantu flakes my hair but not my daughters. Hi Nia! Glad you are back! I tried Aunt Jackie's and it sucked. I have 4c type hair times 1billion. The product left my hair dry and hard. My son has 4a hair. It looks good on him at first but by the end of the day it is very dry. I'm in the fourth month of trying to grow my crown back. I had a lot of damage like you. It's growing but slowly ( medication and stress doesn't help either). But I will try Cantu on my son. Thanks for your videos.

You actually have mostly 4a, your curls are more c and s shaped than z. Also the thickness of each coil is 4a. I'm sorta happy for this because no custard I've tried really made my hair pop

Good video...tfs. I'm going to also share it with a coworker who big chopped, not quite as short as you. She's thinking about relaxing and giving up. She's only been using one product line with a mousse at that. I've tried to explain though you may like how the product feels in your hair, but you say all the curls are gone and hair looking dull by mid-day, then that's not the right product for your hair. Your product should retain moisture in your hair along with the curls especially if no humidity outside. So hopefully she'll get it after watching this and seeing the differences a product can make. Sorry for the long post.
trishalachell tell your friend not to give you up. Part of this process is identifying your hair type and finding products that work for your hair type. Which is really hard if you don't have friends, videos and guidance. I hope she can stick out, but I also know this is not easy.
I think a product can work on someone and don't on others. you will need to try and find what works for you. This is Nia hope experience. It can be different for you.. I used to like cantu custard, now i dont because of the flakes, and i noticed it was getting my hair dry. sooooo. Great video my dear
I agree, my hair loves Mielle and I believe it's best to apply products on newly shampooed & conditioned hair, the next day I hydrate with a hydrating mist and apply more product if needed. My coils are always poppin 😁👌🏾
I used to get flakes from that product also. But I noticed that you have to oil your hair before you apply it. I'm gonna use it until it finishes. But I love twisted Sister amazing dream gel. It works wonders....

I watched this video a year later. However some of the applications were wrong and the information . Aunt Jackie’s conditioner is not a curl Definer for your hair texture. it’s a leave in that’s meant to go underneath say the flax gel. If your hair is a finer texture they have a curling gel as well. I noticed you used warm water, technically, to pop your curls you should be using applications on hair that is washed and clarified from product buildup, then conditioned and then rinsed with cool water do your hair is curl ready then apply your product. Hair type effects some of your hair as well as porosity and the condition of your hair. All of that needs to be taken into consideration when applying products.

Aussie 3minute deep conditioner but keep in for like 30 mins under a plastic bag or cap. It will leave ur hair much softer and moisturized

I used curl la la and my hair is set at least a week and a half. I get comments about how beautiful my hair looks and people are surprised when I tell them it's our a week old. I love there products, been using them for our a year now. Will continue to purchase more. Great video. Love how you experiment with different brands. Thank you for sharing this video.

Yesssss waiting on my kinky curly knot and custard to come Monday. Couldn't find it in any stores in my city. Cantu flakes my hair but not my daughters. I am glad I can give them products that doesn't work for my natural hair and don't waste money lol. I also like the carols daughter on your hair,I will be buying that next. Hi Nia! Glad you are back! I tried Aunt Jackie's and it sucked. I have 4c type hair times 1billion. The product left my hair dry and hard. My son has 4a hair. It looks good on him at first but by the end of the day it is very dry. I'm in the fourth month of trying to grow my crown back. I had a lot of damage like you. It's growing but slowly ( medication and stress doesn't help either). But I will try Cantu on my son. Thanks for your videos.

You actually have mostly 4a, your curls are more c and s shaped than z. Also the thickness of each coil is 4a. I'm sorta happy for this because no custard I've tried really made my hair pop

Good video...tfs. I'm going to also share it with a coworker who big chopped, not quite as short as you. She's thinking about relaxing and giving up. She's only been using one product line with a mousse at that. I've tried to explain though you may like how the product feels in your hair, but you say all the curls are gone and hair looking dull by mid-day, then that's not the right product for your hair. Your product should retain moisture in your hair along with the curls especially if no humidity outside. So hopefully she'll get it after watching this and seeing the differences a product can make. Sorry for the long post.
trishalachell tell your friend not to give you up. Part of this process is identifying your hair type and finding products that work for your hair type. Which is really hard if you don't have friends, videos and guidance. I hope she can stick out, but I also know this is not easy.

I agree, my hair loves Mielle and I believe it's best to apply products on newly shampooed & conditioned hair, the next day I hydrate with a hydrating mist and apply more product if needed. My coils are always poppin 😁👌🏾
I used to get flakes from that product also. But I noticed that you have to oil your hair before you apply it. I'm gonna use it until it finishes. But I love twisted Sister amazing dream gel. It works wonders....

I cut my dreads at the end of April 2018 and I use Cantu for men and my curls pop.

I watched this video a year later. However some of the applications were wrong and the information . Aunt Jackie’s conditioner is not a curl Definer for your hair texture. it’s a leave in that’s meant to go underneath say the flax gel. If your hair is a finer texture they have a curling gel as well. I noticed you used warm water, technically, to pop your curls you should be using applications on hair that is washed and clarified from product buildup, then conditioned and then rinsed with cool water do your hair is curl ready then apply your product. Hair type effects some of your hair as well as porosity and the condition of your hair. All of that needs to be taken into consideration when applying products.
