Yes. And I think this is part of growing up in general. It's important to avoid seeing the world as this place of perfect, super confident people, because it's not. Everyone, every single human, even the biggest body builder in the world has insecurities and self-doubt. Know that and work with that knowledge while building your self-confidence and not beating yourself up for ever doubting yourself at the same time.

This was a great way to frame the nuances that happen between people. It's been sort of hard to put my finger on but this explains it. Approach anxiety is not a thing. Most cases the person just doesn't want to have their bubble popped because to approach means you give yourself up to scrutiny. I like using Reverse Psychology! I've had girls tell me I'm good looking and I'll tell them I'm so butt ugly I can't stand looking at myself in the mirror!! Smiling and jokingly, of course!! And that is when THEY will start telling me I'm not ugly, don't be so hard on yourself and then I'll tell them I do that so I can't be let down!!
