Hey, thanks for making this! I'd heard of this thing awhile back and put it on my "stuff to dig into later" pile but haven't gotten around to it yet haha. Thank you so much for doing all the research and putting it together into an awesome video :D It's so cool how many times motion controls were tried over the years all the way up to modern day with VR and everything. Thanks for documenting this important step on the path!
I love learning about little things from the gaming industry that I've never heard about before. Thanks for the great video. I'm so hyped for thr next video. Japan Studio was such a great company. It's gonna be an emotional journey with your great writing.
There were just so many of these consoles with almost the exact same ideas. It's all the same peripheral styles, gameplay ideas, and 'fitness' focus. And, maybe this was a better push then most - it was still just the same-old Family Dollar/Drug Store crap console you'd see everywhere. I think the only thing special about this was that, somehow, they get Jackie Chan behind it. Then again, he's never been afraid to sell his face to just about anything. Thanks for the video, I do love info-pieces about these weird bubble consoles.
After watching this, I got one + half the accessories on eBay new for $100. They're already 20 years old! Now's the time to buy, not after they get stupid expensive like the Jaguar did. Radica Play TV and similar plug & play games of the early 2000's did MC sports, but I think this was the first dedicated MC "console" with multiple games. Part of gaming evolution & history 💯%
Damn I never heard of this system. Thanks for the info. It looks like this would've work. Yes it was going up against Titans. If it just stuck to PT and Training it might of had a chance. Also having Jackie on the demo. It would of work. [1st time Viewer of your channel got anymore more info on obscure systems] #NewSub #ThumbsUp
Hope you are doing much better these days! But that’s super interesting to hear from someone who actually used it for physical therapy. They really had a great intention with that console 😁
Definitely doing much better, thank you, though I've had lasting issues throughout my life because of it. It was 20 years ago and a really bad car accident. The Wii was much more widely used for physical therapy type stuff, partly the reason why the Just Dance games released on it for so long. That, the Fitness games, and Wii Sports were good for regaining balance and motor functions of varying degrees
Another slapper. Thank you for uncovering this from my brain. I remember DYING to have one as a kid. And then as I grew up the name vanished from my memory, and I haven't heard anyone talk about it since lol. Also random question, where did that arcade footage come from?
It doesn't matter what kind of idea they had, their only issue is that they are not well known. There marketing is very unknown, they had little to no audience, and it's evidence that they didn't invent this thing to be an entertainment device in the first place but rather a health and fitness device using the gaming to attract consumers. I would say it's a failure but considering it was never intend to compete in the gaming sector anyways it does its job and is an interesting piece of gaming media pre-Wii era.
Definitely agree! But I definitely wonder if there were some talks behind the scenes at Nintendo about this little console. Could have definitely had some influence!
Nintendo is known for plagiarizing other people's work. They stole the "mario kart" concept for Wacky Races and motion control from xavix, to name a few.
Happy RUclips recommended me your channel. Your video about 2000's crime games was amazing. This is no different. Keep it up bro.
Very glad that you enjoyed my friend 😁 Thank you so much!

Absolutely! I’m glad that I could help 😁 It really is wild to see how far technology has came with it all, especially in the infant stages!
I've never heard of this thing. This was an awesome video
Had to dig into the catacombs of gaming history for this one 😂 Very glad that you enjoyed! Thank you 🌹
One thing I will say is that the Wii wasn't really 7th gen technology, but really just a slightly tweaked GameCube with an IR sensor

Very much so! I’d like to pick one up for myself, eventually. Looks very interesting to tinker with 😁

Awesome video
I appreciate that my friend! Thank you for watching 😁
I actually had a Xavix around when it came out, I kind of used it as physical therapy while I spent over 10 months in the hospital when I was 9

I like the way you think brother! 😎
