Don't know the name of the song of the top of my head but he was 15 years old and he sounded like he was an old jazz dude in a smoky nightclub awesome I'm sure he has it
What a performance. This track has been introduced to me back in 1985 by my Dad who died last year. I still remember the times we had together when we were listening to this one. Thanks so much for this version, Mr. Winwood, respect is yours!
The Genius strikes again. But what about that tight, funky band! Complete with a very tasty, jazzy sax solo! Thanks a million, Steve - for now and then.
Found live 2012 LA flute/sax 🎷 maybe same man on this site Image Factory Productions Kissinger, excellent concert worth checking out This live from his home studio is fantastic ☺️💓😊💕🤟😇 Love Love this man Steve Winwood made life 🧬 FANTASTIC
One of my favorite Spencer Davis Group songs. I don't believe there is anything I don't like written/co-written/performed by Steve Winwood and the cast of incredibly talented musicians he plays with. I look forward to each Thursday to listen and see them perform. So very special.
1966 Winwood's I'm a man was so good 54 yrs later even better. The master musician. Multi instrumentalist and vocalist. Steve Winwood you are definitely a Icon.
My favorite all around British musician is Steve Winwood. I've been a fan of his music for many years. I saw Steve Winwood twice live as the opening act for Tom Petty. This performance is so good. Cheers! ✌️
Love it! Brings me back to the days of the great Spencer Davis Group -- my intro to the fabulous creative talents of Steve Winwood. So many great songs from that group. My 8-track tape was nearly worn out from constant playing. LOL.
I was 13 when this song came out. I had a crush on Steve. My walls were plastered with teen magazine pictures of various rock stars and Spencer Davis group was one of them. Amazing soulful voice and then there's that iconic Hammond Organ.
I’ve been a hardcore Chicago fan since 1972 and still have never heard anything about SW’s opinion of the CTA version He has done several versions over the years which - and maybe this is my imagination - seem to incorporate elements of the CTA cover
I was there in '66 and Now I'm listening once again in 2023! The decade that followed was a revolution in popular culture that had its longevity still ' popping up '. I'm very fortunate I'm still alive to listening and enjoying music of more than 50yrs pass. " Far Out, Man ". fish...
With everything going on in the world , which would appear as of right now even especially so , it's more than the music because Steve helps make things feel a little bit like home despite it all . To veiw here and to see him in his performance , is to see all his phases from his early day's until now all wrapped up into one. Thank's Steve ! `LIKED'
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻love Stevie since he was 14 w/ The Spencer Davis group. Sadly for me, I never got to see him perform in person. But Loved dancing to his music! Still do at 72 😂❤
I thought he was great all those years ago, now I think he's just amazing a his voice is just as wonderful as ever and such good musicians so great to hear this
I just brought up the original version in another window and was able to sync them up exactly. The original is a tad faster. But holy crap batman, his voice sounds the same. Same key, same tone. Maybe not 100%, but certainly 95%. Pretty amazing for his age. I can't think of another artist who sounds so close, singing the same thing 50+ years apart
I'm A Man is such a cool song. I loved it when he played it in concert back in the '80's. And "Higher Love" was my favorite song for years. He's so multi-talented. I love him!
Great version Steve with your still amazing voice and a great sax solo from someone who shall remain nameless. Could you please put the musicians' names in the intro bit ?. Most viewers would want to know who they were. Thanks.
Back-in 66, Bet Steve didn’t think, that in 54 years time, he would be sat at his Hammond organ singing this song and sounding just as good.👍
His voice has never failed him have you heard and I'm sure you have if you're a fan
Don't know the name of the song of the top of my head but he was 15 years old and he sounded like he was an old jazz dude in a smoky nightclub awesome I'm sure he has it

What a man! Still sounding just as good as he did 50 years ago. Steve has got to be one of the best musicians ever. Thanks for posting.
Still feel the high that I did when I first heard this song 🎵
multi-instrumentalist of the highest cadre with outstanding pipes to boot!
The Genius strikes again. But what about that tight, funky band! Complete with a very tasty, jazzy sax solo! Thanks a million, Steve - for now and then.
So soulful. Steve Winwood a musical Genius, on “I’m a Man” and on “Gimme some Lovin”
Great, one of the best songs in rock'n'roll history!
Still one of the funkiest bluesiest tunes of the 60s, and listening back it’s a proto-rap lyric too. That guy on sax is absolutely killing it!
Anyone know the name of the sax player?

the thursday drops have stopped now :(
This song kicked ass for over 50 years
I grew up with this music - and it's a DAMN sight better than what is on the radio masquerading as "music" now......
That dude on the sax nails it.
Oh, my gosh! Has this man ever done ONE thing short of marvellous?
1966 Winwood's I'm a man was so good 54 yrs later even better. The master musician. Multi instrumentalist and vocalist. Steve Winwood you are definitely a Icon.
You still groove like nobody's business, love it so much. Wonderful ensemble, they compliment you so well.
Wowee, this arrangement is fantastic! Steve and the band 👍👍👍👍
pity he couldn't keep his hand off the high chord
What amazes me most is he had the same voice in 1964 with the Spencer Davis Group as now in 2020.
Now that's what I call music!
Thanks, Steve for 50+ years of your music and talent, I've enjoyed every minute of it. starting with Spencer Davis when I was around 16.
The voice is just as good as it was in 67. I still play the single I bought at the time.
Mr Winwood sings with his soul from the very beginning
Shaking all over as I type this. The funkiest. Sounds and thrills the same as when I first heard it. Long live Steve Winwood.
Amen.
As always, magnificent Steve.
You’re amazing our Dear Mr. Winwood!
Fantastic music, amazing singer and great band !
Sounds just like the first time I heard it in 66. Just has the sax added.
My favorite all around British musician is Steve Winwood. I've been a fan of his music for many years. I saw Steve Winwood twice live as the opening act for Tom Petty. This performance is so good. Cheers! ✌️
Dayumn his singing is still as strong as when he was younger. Now no wonder he was such a singing phenom at such an early age as he was.
Still singing his ass off. Love this Mr.Winwood
There ain’t nobody come close too this talent in today s generation and I mean nobody
Love it! Brings me back to the days of the great Spencer Davis Group -- my intro to the fabulous creative talents of Steve Winwood. So many great songs from that group. My 8-track tape was nearly worn out from constant playing. LOL.
Fabulous. Wasn't there first time round - but I most certainly am now. 😊
I was 13 when this song came out. I had a crush on Steve. My walls were plastered with teen magazine pictures of various rock stars and Spencer Davis group was one of them. Amazing soulful voice and then there's that iconic Hammond Organ.
The genius lives!
STEVE...YOU DA MAN!!! And I can't help but love you so.... ❤❤
My favorite musician/composer. I always wondered how he felt about the Chicago version of this classic?
I’ve been a hardcore Chicago fan since 1972 and still have never heard anything about SW’s opinion of the CTA version

Incredible - what a legend this man is!
I've been listenig for more than 50years! Steve is the one of the best players , no need to mention that!!

Pure timeless class!
🔝👌I am glad we still have the music to remember the “man” type of guys 😉😁sometimes it feels like the world has eaten them all up.
Like fine wine 🍷❤
Nothing like it ever, such a career and still outstanding, carry on good Sir.
He was a teenager when he wrote this, just a genius
Just outstanding!!
The greatest rock tenor EVER!

He's a musical genius. Still hot too.
I agree. He is both multi-talented and hot!
He is the creme de la creme of contemporary music
The song that sold me on Winwood at 14 back in 1967 San Francisco. Rock on Stevie🎶🎶
Still as bad ass in 2024 as it was over 50 years ago ❤
YES indeed. He is incredible.
damn this is great !
Awesome and the voice has not changed at all.
Fabulous
Before i saw the band in pics and on tv, i thought Stevie was black. He had that soulful deep voice.
It's a bit different now.
He's still got it!
It ... just ... never ... grows ... old.
With everything going on in the world , which would appear as of right now even especially so , it's more than the music because Steve helps make things feel a little bit like home despite it all .

It was so much fun hearing Mr Fantasy in Endgame. I saw Stevie several times. He's a rock god.

As always just a few chords that can make the greatest hit ever recorded so amazing
My gosh, how good is this guy?
Great version Steve with your still amazing voice and a great sax solo from someone who shall remain nameless. Could you please put the musicians' names in the intro bit ?. Most viewers would want to know who they were. Thanks.
I believe that is Paul Booth on sax. Terrific solos, conjuring up the late great Brecker & others. Wonderful player.
Damn, he took care of his voice. Sounds great!
