As a lifelong Winwood fan, l approve of this video, and I'm an old geezer.
I bet i am older than you, but I heartedly approve of this musical genius
I am also a geezer, but I wouldn't trade places with anyone! Music was sooo great back then. Today's "music" SUCKS!
Awesome as always!
@@marygonzales8986 God, does it!
@@born4thstime God does what, in relation to Steve Winwood?
Of all the old rockers, I dare say no one's voice has held up better than Steve Winwood's.
Paul Rodgers also
Dave Mason
Van Morrison
Sting
Yep! Him, and perhaps, John Fogarty.
Traffic, Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith, Ginger Baker’s Airforce, solo work, etc. A phenom of the highest order.
Omg yes. Can u imagine!! So true !!!!
Huge STAR in the sky when he steps out!!
Stevie Winwood saw me through the loss of my soulmate. I listened to this over and over again, sobbing, days and nights. It touched something in my broken heart that had to accept that my 'home' was gone and expressing that you never stop looking to find your way back even with that realization. Powerful message from a man that was so young when he wrote and recorded it. The gift just flowed through him. So fortunate to have been alive when he was a troubadour.
I never tire of listening to this song and discovering Steve's creative ability to interpret it in so many ways.
"somebody must change!" So you look in the mirror and you make that decision to become a better person, inside & out. It all ties into who you are and what you can accomplish in your life, and it is never too late either!
@@BrianCarnevaleB26 That's where we are my friend, good advice is always appreciated.
Or playing it! Have you heard the early electric version? The one from the fireside sessions? Gives me the goosies every time.
@@JayMon39 My friend I have seen the first versions with Traffic, others later with Eric Clapton and others and probably his video next to the fireplace is the best version of all. And the funniest thing about all this is that having 64 years old I have only discovered Steve Winwood two years ago, I can't explain it...
@@juanc.9814 Better late than never Juan. He is one of the great ones.
What a master musician - and that voice: as good (and that's very, very good) as it ever was. Thank you, Steve, your music means a lot to a great many people.
Great the best born same month and year as me all ways been my favorite
I think Stevie sounds even better now than he did in the 60's. Magic tune, I love it, brings back so many memories. God bless.
This song just gets better every time I hear it.
I am old. I remember hearing it back in the day. Blind Faith. Clapton. Winwood. Baker and Grech. So High was I. In my teens. 71 now. I still can't find my way home!
My gosh his voice hasn't changed at all. Sounds as perfect as it was years and years ago.
His guitar playing and vocals have remained impeccable (and rough) from back in the 1960s. Still got that ol' Stevie Winwood tone but somewhat more mellow.
Steve Winwood still has that magic way of reaching into your soul and making you forget your problems for as long as hes singing and playing. The most most relaxing voice.

He'll yes
This , ladies and gentlemen, is called TALENT.
That voice! Better than it ever was.
Not bad for 73! He has taken good care of himself, that you can surely see.
He's dropped the key one half step from the original, still sounds fantastic along with his drop Db guitar playing.
Amazing that he’s still got the range he had when he was younger.
May he live a hundred years.
Unmistakable voice and guitar
by the immortal Steve Winwood
1969 hit
thank you very much.
I cannot believe how Steve Winwood has maintained his voice over the last 55 years it blows me away is it's amazing
Pound for pound the greatest musician alive-to quote the late great Jim Capaldi. Why does simple song reach so deeply into my emotional and mental centers. Thank you for keeping me centered musically for 50+ years Steve.
because it's about something we have probably all experienced :) x
Well said brother
Yup.
Legend …just a total legend. Amazing songwriter, singer and guitarist and hey board player (and all the other instruments he can play too). Been a fan since the 60s and he just matures like a fine wine. It doesn’t get mush better than this. Thank you Stevie for all the music and njoyment you have given to me and the rest of the world. long may you continue
I am deeply moved by your melody and vocal proximity, first heard you as a teen and your music still stirs my soul. Looking so forward to your performance in the spring.
I'm glad Steve Winwood is still around. I first heard the Blind Faith album when I was in the Army (U.S.) in Germany, 1969. This song, as well as Clapton's Presence of the Lord, helped greatly. He is aging well. So many haven't.
Saw you singin' & playin' in Gardone Riviera few years ago: the same voice and guitar of my youth. Long life, my dear little Prince and O God protect this precious jewel.
This song has been with me for over 4 decades. As the years go by, it starts to mean different things to me and touches me in new ways. The same can be said for Steve's interpretation of the song through the seasons of his own life.
Hello Lucie 👋 how are you doing
It's been 50 years. Nice to hear a new style on this classic- ginger baker.
I've been listening to Steve for years and I can say that listening to his voice after years always has a wonderful effect, great Steve
I need to hear this every day. I'm 69 and survived the roaring 60s. It's like a breath of fresh air, as beautiful as a sunset or when that one true love walks away for the last time. I remember it on 8 track.
This has been one of my favorite tunes, since it was first introduced to me by my older brother Keith. Whom is no longer with us, due to his accidental overdose in 2013. I hope he found his way home❤️🔥! I love you brother, until we meet again!
I lost my youngest son the same way this past November 11! His spirit is still with me, waiting til when we can both find our way home together! I’m 72 and have a serious heart condition. It won’t be too much longer! Your brother is blessed to have someone like you in his life!💔🕊️🪽😔
Unbelievable. God graced us with this man. Thank God.
For everything thank Him.
@@stevecoyle1 yep. Everything. Cancer. Guinea worms in the eyes of children. Parasitic ticks. Poverty. Thanks for all of that.
The man still has it. Amazing talent, still at the twilight of his very long career.
This is truly a song you can never hear enough and somehow Steve STILL sounds amazing performing it. Glad to have these weekly treats!
Never tire of listening to Steve and at 75 that’s a lot of listening 😊
the secret is that he was the finest musician of the era. the era that was probably the greatest era of rock.. what a miracle Stevie Winwood
Just fantastic. Thanks Mr Winwood for the incredible journey that I've been on with your music over the years. And yes, to paraphrase the late, great Jim Capaldi, "pound for pound the best musician on the planet"! Now, about that knighthood.....!! It's about time.
was blessed to be at royal albert hall 1988 for his concert, love your music.
Brilliant - the voice just hasn't changed over all the years
Your heart is your home and ours too. We will come down again and again, but our home is our heart and love is the law. Thank you Steve vor music with heart 🌞
Great arrangement. Loved this song since the day it originally came out.
Steve is a musical treasure. Saw him a couple of times and I remember bawling my eyes out when he launched into the riff of this song. The placement of the riff after the intro chords plus the audience reaction. I'll never forget it. Thanks, Steve. Great version here!
Now this is fine FINE music! The playing and singing is next level....a real treat, this.
Just when I thought he was at his best, he is even better! Man, this was smooth! We had such great music then! I'm glad I'm alive to hear this! I haven't listened in a long time, but I really missed his music!
Glad you have reconnected. Have a great day
@@stevewinwoodvideos Thank you!
@@stevewinwoodvideos You made my day!
Steve still has his great voice!
Steve Winwood plays the guitar like an organ, and plays the organ like a guitar - Pure magic
That voice hasn't changed since I heard it first in 1969
Heard this song a thousand times, still get chills.
I just can't believe he can still hit those notes !!!!!!! And Not just hit them but Sounds great too !!! Warms my heart, 💖 to him.
What a gift. A GIFT. No words.
How utterly lovely.
Nice name.
Sounds better than ever. Just the cup of sumpreme music I needed to lift my wings!
Timeless ! Goosebumps every time I hear this one … and this version is great … peaceful … thank you Steve for all what you give/gave us ✌️🌈☮️
You take me inside and I'm so grateful. Thank you, Steve. Prayer for my son out there. God bless.
Been in love with this song since day 1. Never get tired of it. I saw Steve with Traffic in 1972.
One of those iconic songs that would make most artists careers, but Mr. Winwood is so so much more. He has made such wonderful music his entire life. We have been blessed by your music Steve it has helped us grow and followed us along our paths of life. Thankyou
This song brings back so many lovely memories
Hi Elizabeth how are you doing
The most tasteful, the most gracious, Steve Winwood.
Love this man. He was the center of the first album I ever bought. The Spencer Davis Group: Gimme some Lovin’ And with Traffic he was the first act. I ever saw at the Fillmore East. Dave Mason was AWOL, so Stevie sat at his keyboard with a guitar across his lap and the group put on an unforgettable performance. He’s still one of my all time favorites.
definitely one of the best artists of my lifetime. The thing about him was everything was always uplifting. Always positive.
I've loved every version I've heard that Steve has performed of this song. One of my favorite concert going moments was getting to see Steve and Eric sit down and play Can't Find My Way Home on a couple of acoustics in 2009. The electric version from MSG is another favorite. And the version of Steve in front of the fireplace with an acoustic is a special rendition.
One of the best songs ever! I loved it since Blindfaith album up to Eric Clapton versions!
My favorite songs are from you ❤️
Hello Susan
How are you doing?
Timeless is this piece of magic
Dear Stevie,
In tears 😭 and loving gratitude for your generosity and compassion in coming back home to us ✨🙏🏼✨💖💖💖
Your voice is timeless
Can't wait to see him in concert this summer...what a day that will be!
still here. getting used to him as a much older person like all of us. he is still so gloriously amazingly talented. just truly magical to hear him year after year and still sound so damn outstanding!!! LEGEND
I AM STOKED BEYOND BELIEF
Me too
I love the version that you play in front of that fireplace . You alone ...and nobody else !
The tone of the keyboards here is tasty, all the way through, and I fancy the guitarwork and Steve's vocals throughout.
Best voice in the business 😎
What a voice, what a voice! I don't know how many times in my life I have listened to this song. Let's conservatiely say a few hundred times. One of the most brilliant songs ever written. xoxo
I LOVE THAT SONG - STEVE FOR YOU🌹❤
A masterful example of raw talent that's still at the top of his game.
The world is a better place with @Steve Winwood in it.
What an incredible performance. Steve Winwood still sounds awesome, after all these years. Cheers!
Fantastic. You haven't lost a step. I've loved your music for quite some time. I love the tone on your tele sir. Magic in those fingers!
When I was 17 I comforted a friend, he was so lonely. When I went to sleep he stayed up & was going to sleep on the couch. The last song we heard was can't find my way home. The next day I woke up and went my way, he seemed still asleep, so I did not wake him up. Laterthat day I was told that he is in the hospital because that night he had tried to suicide himself. Ansgar luckily survived. Much later only I knew the lyrics of that sad song, but for me it is always one of the most beautiful song - as he survived.
God Bless You, Steve ! Beautiful Voice, Beautiful Song...Thank You So Much for your Music. Thank You. Peace and Love for All.
Steve just seems to get better with age, like a fine wine.
I need to get something off my chest
Watching this fantastic take on this perfectly crafted legendary song by an artist whose prolific talents not only helped weave into the fabric of Rock Music History.....
He is the fabric . infinite respect, love and Thanks for Steve Winwood.
Superb organ playing, writing and arranging.
Unmistakable plaintive singing voice unmistakable .
Master musician since 15 years old already with a #1 worldwide hit.
I'm just one of countless around the world I realize.
But I had to say it.
It had been too long.
His generations Invasion, pumped out so much high- quality, world changing music...
It's easy to get distracted

This is great. He is one of.the greatest song writers, carry on Steve your a legend in music.
I love this song and Steve’s voice for over 30 years.
Sometimes I play this with my Taylor acoustic guitar.
Ditto for me, except 51 years.
I can’t think of another rock star who’s voice has remained so clear and strong, and that still hits their high parts so well. I’m pretty sure he’s still in the same key as 50 years ago!

When he led Traffic it was the integrity of the music that made Steve and his songs stand out, with his unique vocals soulfully expressing the feeling. His offerings stand alone and always stood up to time, unlike so many of his contemporaries.
Unbelievable, you’re a true treasure.
Wonderful song , Dear Mr.Winwood !
Thank you! ✨
Hi Irene how are you doing?
The best . . . still. Thank you. Bless you.
A Masterpiece Musical Genius ! Can't wait see him on tour 2022
Love love love love love him 💝
Hello Jana how are you doing
Little did the young man, who wrote this fifty years ago, know the real truth to his own lyrics. I’m glad he has stuck around long enough to gain further insight and and perspective on his own work. No doubt that this “packs a harder punch” as we get older!
I have always loved this song and Steve’s voice. Thank you!
Gorgeous as always!
The man and his music…simply timeless. ❤️🎸
With all the artists we have lost in the last decade I am sure glad Steve is still here with us. Keep playing, music man. Your gifts are truly appreciated.
So poignant back when, so real now. 71 and I can't find my way back home. Some songs evoke a realness of wonder, these guys had it all.
Espectacular
Thank you. This has warmed the cockles of my heart. From a bitter cold Saddleworth. North West, England.
I have always felt that there is a deeper meaning to this song by Winwood.
It shall always remain a classic to me and for future generations to appreciate for what it is meant to be.
Not forgetting the melody and unforgettable style of music arrangements.
Steve was one of the youngest rock stars ever, at 16 playing on a big stage. I was listening back then to his music, his talent was beyond his years.
I dare say ' The Voice of my Generation'.
Just Wonderful, this always makes me feel sad and happy at
the same time , his voice and guitar playing seems to have gotten better over the years.Thank you Steve
Been a fan since Spencer Davis group. So much talent in this man! Love when he teams up with Clapton! Doesn't get any better! This music will never die because thus generation had and still have actual talent!
Loved this with Blind Faith and it just keeps getting better.
