The red beam was only for the readers to know that Cyclops was using his powers. I always liked Cyclops with Emma Frost more than Jean Grey. Jean Grey always came off as more interesting with Wolverine. Emma Frost can put Cyclops in his place while Jean Grey has this whole "I can change him!" vibe with guys that's way more sympathetic with Wolverine. As for actors: Maybe with the success of Netflix's Daredevil and The Mandalorian someone can lure in an actor who wants to play a guy who never shows his eyes. Maybe recycle Theo Rossi who played Shades from Luke Cage, as long as they are going to keep the Netflix series in effective limbo. Rossi could easily play someone who would kill his own team to protect the mission, then convey the sadness of being that kind of everything for the mission soldier.

I always liked Cyclops with Emma Frost more than Jean Grey. Jean Grey always came off as more interesting with Wolverine. Emma Frost can put Cyclops in his place while Jean Grey has this whole "I can change him!" vibe with guys that's way more sympathetic with Wolverine.
As for actors: Maybe with the success of Netflix's Daredevil and The Mandalorian someone can lure in an actor who wants to play a guy who never shows his eyes. Maybe recycle Theo Rossi who played Shades from Luke Cage, as long as they are going to keep the Netflix series in effective limbo. Rossi could easily play someone who would kill his own team to protect the mission, then convey the sadness of being that kind of everything for the mission soldier.
it kinda annoys me to learn he has brown eyes because in the last stand, jean grey takes off his glasses and they talk about his eyes being as blue as the ocean:(. yes i’m an xman buff
