The bathroom scene really got to me as someone with memory issues. it's really hard to explain the sensation of knowing there's something you forgot, there's just a hole in the middle of the picture and you don't know why. and it can absolutely be panic-inducing, and screws with your whole perception of the world. the voice acting sells that panicked feeling so well, I had to get up and take a lap afterwards just to reorient myself. excellent stuff.
When returning to the change god statue, there was another change you didn't mention. The last line was "(You make sure Mira doesn't touch the statue)" Basically, Sif didn't want to see the change god again

I am too. Trust me, I get it. But they have the right to play the game as blind as they wish to, and it's not fair to deprive them of a surprise they may have stumbled upon anyway. There are ways to give hints and nudges that don't cause this issue. Chief among those is putting a spoiler guard in your comment with an explanation of what the spoiler guard is guarding - that way, Allison and Gina can make an informed decision and choose for themselves whether or not they actually want to read our hints or play 100% blind. I'm genuinely loving how much you two are in sync with Sif. Allison, in particular, is echoing a lot of the same reactions I had when I played the game myself. On a couple occasions, I found myself inventing jump scares that just straight up weren't in the game in much the same way Allison did during the confession scene. I also really enjoyed the theorizing you two did in the room with the orrery. Obviously not going to comment on the content of the theories themselves, but I wanted to just let you know that tangets like that where you take a step away from progression to just *talk* are always appreciated. That's not to say Sif is correct here - they are absolutely being way too hard on themselves - but it's quite understandable where they're coming from and why they feel disgusted with themselves for their actions.
@@paulomatute4114I don't necessarily think that Sif is manipulating Isabeau, after all Isabeau clearly loved Siffrin before the loops started, it's not like he is forcing him to feel a certain way and the confession would maybe happen if he wasn't interrupted, but as a looper Siffrin does have knowledge about his family members that they don't remember revealing to him, he can change the way things happen exactly how he wants and make genuine moments ocurr again, in a way he does have some power over their lives during the loops and that can damage the dynamic of this relationships, because to one the moment is real and new, but to sif is more just a scene that'll get reset, it really sours everything between them, and I imagine it would make interactions -specially romantic ones- feel like one side of the party lacks the capacity to fully consent, of course I don't think the party would feel that they are/were being manipulated, but to Sif it pretty much feels that way, and as the player that made sure those moments happen as I wanted them to, it made me feel that way too!
@@02miguener99syeah, I certainly don’t see how it’s inherently manipulative, but once Siff passes the point of “stuff you might reasonably know, predict or infer even if you weren’t stuck in a time loop,” it does get a bit uncomfy and weird and it’s cool how the game examines that that said, I don’t expect Siffrin to *not* act on their knowledge (especially when they can’t even remember what they’re supposed to know and not know). It’s just that, at this point, their goal has shifted from “Help Isabeau say what he wants to say” to “Get Isabeau to fucking say the thing.” A subtle difference, but a devastating one
If you can go though the house again and try to act as suspicious as possible and interact with all of the stuff that mentions Wish Craft . Also do Odile’s quest thing but talk to the girl to skip all the running around. After you beat the King talk to Odile you’ll get something new
Maybe I'm being a bit too high strung about this, but I feel like if you're going to lay out, step by step, how to complete a side quest, you should at least preface it with a spoiler warning so those playing the game can choose to ignore it and continue playing blind if they'd prefer. It would be a different thing if they specifically asked for advice on how to progress with a quest, but they didn't.
The game is starting to get more and more interesting! I was wondering if this will ever reach Start Again level of "I don't even remember their names". I still find it hard to think it will reach that since all the NPCs keep calling out one another's names all the time, but I'm thrilled to see how it will pan out! As for this being a sequel to the Prologue and Sif making a copy of Sif... There isn't anything to contradict that theory, but there also isn't really anything to support it... You'd have to create a copy of Sif but not in the current loop but at the start of the loops so he's not jaded and cynical from the start. As for the confession, man I was waiting for it so long! I do wonder though if anything would be different if you got to it in an early loop and chapter...
There sure is a lot of emphasis on "everything is over when Sif talks to the Head Housemaiden" for not having the option to not talk to her and leave, wonder what in universe reason there is, could Sif in theory say to his family "I don't want to talk to her lets just leave"
I think i really should watch start again huh? I didn't know about this game and thought start again was just a demo type of thing, but i think i should go and take a look... As others have already said, this game is fucking amazing and your VA is top notch, so thank you for this wonderful time ^^
Start Again was in some ways a proof of concept for what became In Stars and Time, but it's also it's own game that stands by itself. It's also very short (only around 3 hours), so you should definitely check it out!
I don’t think Time craft is real, just something Sif suggested while Wish craft is real. Also. The story is hurting so good! Your voice work really sells it!
I can see why you would think this, but it's important to keep in mind how people talk about the island vs how they talk about colours. The disappearance of the island happened in living memory. Well, not "memory", but you know what I mean. People in game were alive when it happened. Bonnie doesn't remember it - they were either too young or not yet born - but they mention that their sister does remember it. She told Bonnie that it was all anyone in Bambouche could talk about for weeks. Odile, Mira, and Isa also mention remembering the commotion that was caused when people realized something had happened to their memories of that place. And for Sif, as he reveals when reading the letter of running away, the disappearance of the island happened WHILE they had run away from home. In general, while nobody can remember anything *about* the island, everyone is aware that *something* happened to the island. In contrast, colours are a totally foreign concept to everyone. Isa - who is very well studied - had literally never even heard of colours until you find the book on them in the secret library. It's mentioned that colours were discovered not by anyone remembering them, but by historians who found mention of them from LONG ago. In other words, the thing that happened to the island is very recent. The thing that happened to colours is quite ancient.

@@paulomatute4114I don't necessarily think that Sif is manipulating Isabeau, after all Isabeau clearly loved Siffrin before the loops started, it's not like he is forcing him to feel a certain way and the confession would maybe happen if he wasn't interrupted, but as a looper Siffrin does have knowledge about his family members that they don't remember revealing to him, he can change the way things happen exactly how he wants and make genuine moments ocurr again, in a way he does have some power over their lives during the loops and that can damage the dynamic of this relationships, because to one the moment is real and new, but to sif is more just a scene that'll get reset, it really sours everything between them, and I imagine it would make interactions -specially romantic ones- feel like one side of the party lacks the capacity to fully consent, of course I don't think the party would feel that they are/were being manipulated, but to Sif it pretty much feels that way, and as the player that made sure those moments happen as I wanted them to, it made me feel that way too!
@@02miguener99syeah, I certainly don’t see how it’s inherently manipulative, but once Siff passes the point of “stuff you might reasonably know, predict or infer even if you weren’t stuck in a time loop,” it does get a bit uncomfy and weird and it’s cool how the game examines that
that said, I don’t expect Siffrin to *not* act on their knowledge (especially when they can’t even remember what they’re supposed to know and not know). It’s just that, at this point, their goal has shifted from “Help Isabeau say what he wants to say” to “Get Isabeau to fucking say the thing.” A subtle difference, but a devastating one

If you can go though the house again and try to act as suspicious as possible and interact with all of the stuff that mentions Wish Craft . Also do Odile’s quest thing but talk to the girl to skip all the running around. After you beat the King talk to Odile you’ll get something new

Maybe I'm being a bit too high strung about this, but I feel like if you're going to lay out, step by step, how to complete a side quest, you should at least preface it with a spoiler warning so those playing the game can choose to ignore it and continue playing blind if they'd prefer. It would be a different thing if they specifically asked for advice on how to progress with a quest, but they didn't.

The game is starting to get more and more interesting! I was wondering if this will ever reach Start Again level of "I don't even remember their names". I still find it hard to think it will reach that since all the NPCs keep calling out one another's names all the time, but I'm thrilled to see how it will pan out!
As for this being a sequel to the Prologue and Sif making a copy of Sif... There isn't anything to contradict that theory, but there also isn't really anything to support it... You'd have to create a copy of Sif but not in the current loop but at the start of the loops so he's not jaded and cynical from the start.
As for the confession, man I was waiting for it so long! I do wonder though if anything would be different if you got to it in an early loop and chapter...
There sure is a lot of emphasis on "everything is over when Sif talks to the Head Housemaiden" for not having the option to not talk to her and leave, wonder what in universe reason there is, could Sif in theory say to his family "I don't want to talk to her lets just leave"

Start Again was in some ways a proof of concept for what became In Stars and Time, but it's also it's own game that stands by itself. It's also very short (only around 3 hours), so you should definitely check it out!

I think Time craft is real thanks to Wish craft, like Time craft is refering to how the craft is used, while the actual type of craft is Wish craft

The creator has confirmed that whatever took out the island is different than what ever took out color.
I can see why you would think this, but it's important to keep in mind how people talk about the island vs how they talk about colours.
The disappearance of the island happened in living memory. Well, not "memory", but you know what I mean. People in game were alive when it happened. Bonnie doesn't remember it - they were either too young or not yet born - but they mention that their sister does remember it. She told Bonnie that it was all anyone in Bambouche could talk about for weeks. Odile, Mira, and Isa also mention remembering the commotion that was caused when people realized something had happened to their memories of that place. And for Sif, as he reveals when reading the letter of running away, the disappearance of the island happened WHILE they had run away from home.
In general, while nobody can remember anything *about* the island, everyone is aware that *something* happened to the island.
In contrast, colours are a totally foreign concept to everyone. Isa - who is very well studied - had literally never even heard of colours until you find the book on them in the secret library. It's mentioned that colours were discovered not by anyone remembering them, but by historians who found mention of them from LONG ago.
In other words, the thing that happened to the island is very recent. The thing that happened to colours is quite ancient.
