Thank you to everyone who has already left a comment. RUclips in its wisdom keeps turning them off, even after we keep switching them back on again. Some seem to have now disappeared completely, I’m really sorry - Dominic and I are chatting about what happens when a boys voice starts to change and the impact of this if you sing but even just when you talk!
I read something a few months ago that RUclips will not allow comments on a youtuber's channel who is below a certain age - something to that end. I'm not sure where they are with that policy now, or if there's a way around it. I'm mainly posting on my Rumble channel now because of such actions by youtube.
That was awesome. And I got a good laugh at the forced crack at the end. :)

@@CormacThompson You know, in my favorite of your new songs, the Joker and the Queen, there are maybe 3 or 4 words in the song where it nearly sounds like your voice cracks, but I love how it comes across because it doesn't come across as a cracking voice, it comes across as you conveying heart felt emotions. I don't know if you'll understand what I'm saying. But yes, you keep going with the flow because the flow is working. lol :)

I've read something that said men's singing voices don't mature until about the age of 30.

The gift itself is you, Cormac, it never fades, that actual gift is a hidden gift in whatever form it takes, it is your inspiration however difficult the circumstance, and liken your voice at present with peaks, breaks and lows…it is the will to go on with inspiration, thoughts wherever it may be. I learnt that when only 7yrs old during a small sit around lecture during a Christmas Invite, two maps were drawn of life to the top of a mountain, the first map was an easy way to the top, the second was a difficult climb but interesting. How true that is when listening to your voice, the songs you have sung. Is it borrowed? No, and I have listened to your CD…it is your will to express, work with others however daunting at times that can be, a skill not all of us have learnt. That is exactly…your alleged borrowed gift!
I just received my CD and it is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing the last two songs. They are a taste of things to come. Well done. I will certainly check out the Christmas tunes on RUclips. I, too, am starting to get in the Christmas Spirit. Happy Christmas, Cormac and may 2024 be filled with joy, curiosity, and much music.
“And so it’s quite cool yeah.” That’s a well adjusted positive reaction to the process your voice is going through, that I will say. You’ll come out the other end like Sinatra, Tom Jones, or Bryn Terfel. Maybe even Dean Martin - as evidence your recent performance of ‘Se’.

My Review of Cormac CD....A Borrowed Gift
Tracks
1. What a fantastic way to start off this CD/ Album with a track called 'Somewhere' (West side story West). Beautiful.
2. Next we have a song called 'May it Be'with cormac's voice sounding absolutely amazing.
3. Next track is one of my favorites called ' Empty chairs at Empty Tables'. It's lovely believe me.
4. This next one is a real standout called 'Free to a new World'. Cormac will send you on a beautiful journey here.
5. Next we have a song called 'Cinema Paradiso'. Oh my you're really going to love this one.
6. This next one was a hit for Cyndi lauper here in the states called ' True Colors'. Cormac does a fantastic job singing this.
7. The next one is called 'Bright Eyes' and Cormac sounds like an angel from heaven.
8.Okay this next one brings tears to my eyes (In a good way) called 'Sleepsong'. The very first time I heard this song I fell in love with it. It's stunning.
9. The next one we have a track called 'When she loved me' and again when I play this song I just melt.
10. Next Cormac who I call the boy angel sings believe it or not a song called 'Angel'. Fantastic.
11. This next track is the wonderful 'Amazing Grace'. I must add Cormacs piano player Dominic Ferris in my opinion is also an angel. Dominic is a master player at the piano. I have much respect for him.
12. Next track is called 'Rule the World'. And again this is another beautiful song.
13. Okay these last two tracks are bonus tracks and this is with cormac's new changed voice and as soon as the song started I started smiling. It's called 'The Joker and the Queen'. Brilliant.
14. The last track is one of my favorite songs by Jim Croce called 'Time in a Bottle'. Now let me be clear yes cormac's voice has dropped a bit but believe me when I tell you it's as beautiful as ever. I didn't mean to go on so long but I just wanted to say I think every track on this CD/ Album is breathtaking. As they say in baseball you knocked it out of the park Cormac.

Thanks, Cormac, this was interesting. I've never been a singer, but I could imagine that feeling of losing another note off the top each week and thinking "Well, I guess I must be gaining notes on the bottom ... [checks] ... Nope, I'm just losing."
I'm glad your lower range eventually showed up!
As I get older and my body keeps finding new ways to disappoint me, I have to resort to thinking "Well, I guess I'm at least getting wiser ... [checks] ... Nope, still a fool."

Cormac your voice will probably go through a few more changes before it settles! Your child voice is changing into a man voice beautifully! You’re always going to have a unique sound though no matter what happens!

Bless Ya Cormac, happens to all us chaps sadly, for me I was about to sing Once in Royal in my church choir I was the only lad and was asked to sing the opening verse, I was terrified but literally the day before the solo my voice broke, and the choir mistress said, right that's it, he can't sing it now :D :D :D one way of getting out of a solo i guess ;) :D :D I am sure you will sound amazing, just a case of getting used to your new range!!

It does yes but it’s a bit more challenging if you sing so I am hoping that by talking about it I can maybe help another boy not to be discouraged too even if it’s just one it’ll be worth it 🤗

I've just seen your guitar play and singing in that freezing weather on your FB. Since I don't have a FB account, I can't comment there, but your voice in that video is very nice. It slowly settling down and I'm sure, it will be stable in few months time. 😃
One simple idea for freezing fingers. 😃 The next time playing in these conditions you must do as the alpine skiers do. I'm a big fan of the Alpine Skiing World Cup. When athletes are waiting on a slope for their starts for an hour or more in those skin tight aerodynamic wearing they are also wearing heavy coats and gloves doing exercises. They put their clothing down just before the start to keep their bodies warm. Otherwise their muscles would be inflexible and they could go downhill. So, don't forget the gloves and try to do some stretching exercises with your fingers to keep them warm. 😃
