I’ve had my money tree for almost 15 years. It’s over 7 foot tall and in a massive pot! I’m currently growing 3 more money trees from it ❤ Best graduation gift I ever got!
I have a money tree I bought at IKEA last year and it has grown so big, even my daughter asked me what was I doing and my answer was I water it once a week and at times longer and she’s thriving so beautifully, she loves the entrance room where she gets lots of natural light ☺️🤷♀️
Money trees don't produce a ton of roots, so the watering requirements are sometime touchy. They also store a ton of water in the trunk more like a succulent. If they have lots of leaves, water more frequently, less often for the opposite. I use a loose aroid mix to encourage more root growth. They also get leaf burn super easy so wipe off the leaves if you splash water on them and they are close to a window.
My money tree is enormous. It is on my kitchen windowsill and gets a few hours morning sun. Seems to be very happy there. Lots of healthy leaves and just keeps growing.
Your low light money tree was massively stretching for light as well. That’s why the internodes are so long. I keep mine in a window that receives morning sun and I keep the blinds half open. It loves it there. It loves it when I forget about it because they really don’t need much water. I’ve had it for a year and have only fed it liquid nutrients twice, at half the dose as well.
Yep! I test everything in low light first because there's always someone online saying these houseplants do well in low light and I want to test if they really do or if they suffer... And money trees suffer lol! Definitely not a low light plant! 🤣
Thank you for the money tree information. A month ago, I received a money tree bonsai plant as a gift. The bonsai gets morning sun for few hours. It seems to be growing well. I water it a few days. The plant and roots sits on top crushed lava rocks in a small ceramic pot. It would be nice to see “how to care for bonsai plant”.
Mine is about 5yo. Plastic pot, peat moss only. In a corner with low light. Its huge! I've learned that when i water it, the water has to go all the way through pot. If it doesn't, the leaves will start to turn brown at tips.
@yessicalurita3565 Put enough water so it drains out of the pot. That's what he said. Suggested. Two of my leaves have white spots that look like paint and a few leaves have brown spots that are now holes. I never watered mine to where the water flows out of the bottom of the pot. I'm about to attempt his suggestion.
So glad I found your channel. I was using ice cubes as indicated on the tab and my plant is looking droopy, and leaves not looking happy. I think my low light wasn't helping either. I am going to try some of the tips you have. Thank you
I don’t know where this whole ice cube thing started but ignore ANY tag on ANY plant that says use an ice cube. If you want to put your plant into shock and eventually kill it, then yes, use ice cubes lol. Most plants need a thorough watering at room temperature. Orchids often have tags that say use ice cubes and it drives me nuts!
That's a terracotta pot and they evaporate water much quicker. They're great for cactus and succulents but not for humidity loving plants. I keep my money tree in a plastic pot for the drainage holes and use a basket for decorative touch to place it in after I water/drain it.
Yes, plastic pots are also good for this plant. I used terra cotta for mine while it was in a lower light location to ensure better drainage because it wasn't drying out fast enough.
I'm finding clay pots are great for many indoor plants that are risk of overwatering. Clay lets them dry completely before I thoroughly water them again. 👍
My money tree started recently having trouble...it was drooping. I bought it a light, changed out some of the soil with some cactus blend, regular dirt and perlite, gently cleaned the leaves and gave it a small watering. I hope it bounces back. I'm gonna fertilize it this weekend just in case that is lacking. I was misting until it started drooping...I was afraid my misting was harming it. Good to know it wasn't. Also while removing about 50% of its old soil...found a big plastic band around the bottom. I wonder if it had not been noticed if it would have choked the plant when it grew? I don't really care for the braiding so didn't need to keep it on there.
Yes the band will eventually choke it. Good choice to remove it. Just be careful when changing a lot of different things, you won't be able to know which one thing was making the difference. I would recommend changing one thing, then waiting a few weeks, then changing another thing if it's still struggling. Hope this helps! 😊
Thank you for this info. I Luv how clear you speak, your justifications on how and why. And a beautiful smile too😊. I’ve never really had a “green thumb”, but since my son and his wife bought this for me, I’m determined to keep it alive. Thanks to your content, I Believe I CAN🙏🤞😜. THANK YOU! 🌻💕☀️😊
I noticed you had white spots on your leaves. I have this as well. I was wondering what it was and if it’s bad! PS I have my planned outside on my deck with a ton of light and some direct sunlight in Florida and it seems to be doing well outside of the white spots!
Yes if you've got the humidity, these guys love the extra light! But do the same in Arizona and they'll die real fast! It's been a bit since I've done this video but I'm assuming the white spots were from watering. Do you get the leaves wet when you water? If you wipe them off with a damp cloth they should go away if it's what I'm thinking of... 😊
You can take your plant out of the terracotta pot (those pots wick water away from the plant). I'm sure you will find that it doesn't dry out as fast so you won't have to water too frequently.
Can you prune a money tree ? I have 2 in small pots but I don’t want them to get too big for the area I have them in. They don’t need to be trimmed yet. But can I keep them in the smaller pots so they don’t get too big?
You can. For this I would recommend looking into bonsai plants. This will keep them from outgrowing their pots (their root system is more what I worry about).
I have 2 but I do t want them to grow as tall as they can.. and I don’t have any room for more plants so probably not going to purchase a bonsai.. even though they’re really kool. Thanks
Great information but I didn't see exactly how and where to do the pruning. Is there a specific place to snip the stems? Or just cut to your desired shape?
I was going to cover that in a propagation video. But the main thing is to cut just above a leaf node (where the stem that has the leaves is attached to the main stem, or where it has a little bump on the main stem). Hope that helps! 😊
My money tree is currently sick , looking forward to your 2nd video. She is having yellow spots on curled leaf , and leafs is producing some clear color sticky liquid. I haven’t seen anyone talk about it, and don’t know how to help her.
She immediately oozing AFTER I repotted her, and continued for a week. This week, I saw a little web in one of her branch where a deformed new branch was, I then purchased Captain Jack’s Neem oil and have been using on her since this Wednesday. Her leafs is still curling a bit and have brown tip, some brown spots, but over all leafs started to turn to darker green color ( it was light green with tiny yellow spots all over each leaf). I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing and not sure how to determine if she healthy again and insects are gone (if there was any). Thank you in advance.
Your definitely on the right track! The webbing is a sign of spider mites, as well as the tiny little yellow spots everywhere... Spider mites are very small. To see them, get a white piece of paper and shake a few leaves over it. It should drop some specks. If these specks start moving, then it's spider mites! This can help you see if you still have them or not. Hope this helps!
Thank you very much for the guidance. I inspected leafs again today, I saw some tiny tiny dark orange dots on them. I tried your method, nothing fall off and they don’t seem moving on the leaf. Do you recommend to prune off all of the leafs and let it have a fresh start? I’m currently isolating her, but not sure when I can put her back in her normal spot because I’m worrying she will infect other plants.
I have had a money tree for 4 years It has been very happy.. but this past month many leaves have turned brown and are falling off and the leaves are drooping. Do you have any advice?
If they're brown and crispy then it's too dry. If they're yellow and still leaf shaped when they fall off then it's overwatering. I would also check for insects like spider mites. These can be a cause of sudden decline as well... 😮💨
As far as my research, misting has not yet been seen as a good source to increase humidity because it lasts for only a few short seconds. You'd have to be constantly missing for hours lol! I would try to go instead with a pebble tray and grouping your plants together... ☺️
think I’m experiencing root rot. The leaves were pale green and some fell off. I inspected the bottom stems and they were wet and a light brownish color. The roots looked brown I trimmed them back and repotted in new soil. Should I water right away or let it dry out first? Any suggestions??
Definitely let it dry out. The lightish brown color could possibly show it's too late. So I would dry it out, then if any more stems fall over I would propagate them in water. (Cut off the brown sections, let it dry for a few days, then place in water). I hope this helps!
new sub and thumbs up for you. letting those shoots grow will help heal those old cut wounds faster(cut/prune paste helps too). ive bonsai'ed a few over the years. very forgiving easy growing plants for sure..
Thanks Mike! Yes I pruned it about a week ago and I'm already seeing new little buds! I'm glad I gave him time to get a good root system established! 😊
This video was really helpful! I like the braided look but they also cut mine short like the one in this video. Is there a way for it to still look good if I continue to braid it or should I go for the bush look?
If you braid it, there will be a bump in the braid where the stems were cut. So you can either be fine with the bump in the braid, or just keep it short and bushy through pruning. 👍
Great question Clinton! I believe it all comes down to what growing media the plant is growing in, the root system becomes used to. For example, I've got some money tree cuttings growing in straight water right now and they're loving it! But as for issues with overwatering, I think the reason they have issues is because indoor temperatures and humidity is usually a lot lower than in a swamp, so they don't have nearly as much transpiration, so not nearly as much water usage. Does that explain a bit? I know it seems really confusing, like "why do you grow great in the swamp, but you're dying on me indoors?!" Haha! 😂
@@thegirlwithashovel HI! Can you tell me about your money tree cuttings? I learned just in the nick of time how to care for it but as a result it is very sparse and leggy. I would like to prune it but I would also like to propagate the cuttings. Is that possible. PS: just discovered your channel and I am learning a lot.
My first video.. I water mine a few times a week and it's so thick, dark green, and has exploded in a year.. I'm lost now haha.. now I need to research it more lol... Edit added: south facing window, dry humidity home, try to help those issues in 4b)
I water my Money tree about once a week maybe with 3 quarters of a gallon of Piping hot water, i cover the whole soil bed with it then it steams up for a half hour. When i got my Money tree it was just a baby, no bigger then 8 inches tall and maybe 3 inches im width around. I have had it for 7 Years now and it sits a bit higher then 3 feet high and 2 feet in width around.
Plastic pots are fine but they need good drainage. I feel that mine likes the ceramic pot more just because it gives it a better moist/dry cycle since the ceramic holds onto a bit of moisture and will also dry out as the soil dries. I also personally feel that the plastic pots tend to heat up a bit more so you can potentially have your soil and roots a bit less protected in plastic. But that being said a lot of my plants are still in plastic because let's just admit it... It's cheaper! 🤣
I haven't personally ever seen this plant adjusted to hydroponics. You could give it a shot but I do worry it would not like it. But I know pothos, peace lily, or monstera would all do well, to name a few...
I believe the "ice cube" situation depends on your tap water. Refrigerators don't usually have a filter for ice. So if you have alot of chemicals in your tap water, your ice cubes will to.
Yes. It is partly the quality of the tap water, but also some plants are more sensitive to the temperature change of the cold water on their roots. Think winter rain temps vs summer rain temps. Some plants don't mind, but others hate getting cold feet lol. 😆
I actually brought a bonsai, I was gifted back to life with the ice cube trick. The altitude from which rain falls is usually on the cool side, so I'm not sure the temperature is an issue. Also, I'm on city water and God only knows what all is in that stuff. It's allowed me to fine tune my watering schedule. I'm a novice and it's working for me.
Wow now the clarity on this video is absolutely perfect compared to the one that I watched with the haworthia! Good for you keep up the good work girl I hope you get a million of subscribers this year!
My money tree was doing well until I decided to fertilize it (it was a short blue stick, I don't remember the name). My tree did not like it, the leaves began to turn yellow and fall off. Is there anything I can do? I completely emptied the soil with fertilizer and put in a new one, but I don’t see any changes yet :-(.
Unfortunately it sounds like you did all the right things, but now you just have to wait for it to recover. If you are in the northern hemisphere this could be a few months until spring comes and it starts actively growing again. The only thing to watch out for is if the leaves continue to turn yellow and fall off, but it seems like you've done the right thing for now with changing out the soil. 🙂
Hi Angela. A cat I'm taking care of, chewed all the leaves off my money tree. It's now just sticks lol, can I restore it? I've given it some plant food (miracle grow) but it's not producing leaves yet and it's been about 2 weeks.
I've been there too! Haha! Well the thing to look for is if your stem starts to lose it's bright green color and starts to shrivel. That's when you know it's beyond hope. But for now, just be patient and hope for the best!
Just caught this video....I have two money trees and they are putting out new growth very often...my leaves grow in big but the leaves are mostly dropping down not straight out like yours...any suggestions? The leaves are beautiful...no yellowing ..no browning....watering on point but drooping leaves
If the leaves are looking nice and green and are not dropping, but are only facing downward, it could either be a sign of not enough water (but then they would go back up after watered). Or it could just be the healthy leaves facing to the sides because that's where most of the light comes from through windows. To fix it you would need a plant light to give light from above. But personally I don't think there's anything wrong with the leaves going more to the sides as long as it is still healthy! 😊
Hi! Wilted leaves can be a sign of either under watering or over watering. I would recommend you get a soil moisture meter to know exactly what the issue is... I hope this helps!
Will raise bed soil be ok? I’m worried. I see little nets and one one of the braided died. Maybe cause I didn’t put holes into the pot soon enough. Not sure cause it’s root rot or the soil. Leaves have been turning yellow and falling.
Hi! I would add additional perlite to raised bed soil. That is if it doesn't smell like compost. If the compost hasn't broken down enough (like in some garden soils), then it could cause problems in your indoor pots. But if it's composted enough then you should be fine as long as you add more drainage with the perlite or sand. And yes, if you don't have holes it could be too much water at the bottom of the pot which can cause root rot...
@@pasiongonzalez5868 it's either too much water or not enough water. That's usually why branches fall off. Use my tips from the video to determine if you're overwatering or underwatering, and then adjust from there! I hope this helps! 😊
just purchased a Money Tree plant in a 10 inch pot with drainage. I poured one litre of Water and a little came out of the drainage holes. But my moisture meter indicated the earth as dry. Does this mean i didnt pour enough water?
Sometimes our soil can be so dry it pulls away from the sides, creating areas where water will flow through without ever soaking into the soil. You can watch my video on "when to bottom water your plants" to see what is going on. Basically sounds like you need to soak your soil a bit more. 😉
@thegirlwithashovel The Volume of the Pot is about 7.5 Litres so one litre of Water may not be enough to soak it. Next time I'll pour 1.5 litres of Water. I bought this Money tree at ikea and on the sticker it indicated that the water requirement is only 1/3. Plants that need a lot of water get a 3/3. It can easily go without water for 2 Weeks.
I made the shelves. Bought the brackets off of Amazon. Then I sanded down and stained regular 2x8's. Then I screwed in the lights to the wood. The lights were from either Ikea or Amazon. I don't remember. Sorry, I bought a lot of lights to test right around the same time haha! But they do have a timer I just set to 12 hours and it turns on and off automatically so I don't have to worry about it! 😂
@@thegirlwithashovel that's what I'm trying to avoid 😭😭. What I do like it wifi outlets. I use kasa you plug them in program them with the app and they follow your local dusk dawn cycle
Do you keep the plant bound with that golden tie off? Someone gifted me one of these and they left that golden tie around the base branches to keep them bunched up
The golden tie is useful when it's young but it should stay together on its own after several months of it being tied. Next, they use golden ties to "bring fortune and good luck in your life". So you can keep it on for that reason! But make sure if it is starting to rub on your stems that you either loosen it or remove it at that point. ❤️
Either one. But a west facing window is typically warmer since it has the afternoon & evening sun, so if you live in a hot climate then an east facing window would be better. 😊
Hmm... I'm not sure. I know if it's glazed it loses the breathability. But I'm not sure about unglazed and simply painted. I would assume it would lessen the amount of water able to go into the ceramic (especially if it's painted on the inside as well). So just keep an eye on your moisture levels and make sure it dries out enough between watering. Sorry I didn't have a definitive answer for you...
Hi! Your leaves are curling due to it being too dry when they first emerge. You can check out my video where I talk more about this and other money tree problems here! ruclips.net/video/GLbiGvTIaHA/видео.html
I hope these tips helped! I would also recommend you check out my video on money tree troubleshooting to see exactly what is causing your plant to decline. 😊
That’s weird my money tree does fine with low low light. It has a lot of babies and the leaves is the same size as yours. However, it right next to my humidifier and it loves it.
I've had mine a little over a year and suddenly it is not doing well. I've reported and reduced the water but now I'm afraid I'm not watering enough! The leaves dry out at the tip of the leaf and creep up the whole leaf.
I got one from Walmart that I'm trying to save. The leaves are browning & falling off. I got the miracle grow perlite mix soil & added some of that to the top. I don't water it until the soil has dried out. I've had it for almost three weeks but I can't tell if I'm helping or hurting : (
I would recommend you get a soil moisture meter to track your watering, so you know exactly if it's getting enough. Then after you confirm your watering, the next thing to adjust is light. Is it getting too much or too little. This should get you started at least ☺️
I think the reason ice cubes don't work well often is that MOST people I've known use tap water to make them. Tap water can contain numerous harmful substances and many municipalities report up to 88 or so various pharmaceuticals in tap water from people flushing meds. If there is Floride in the water it WILL harm your plant. I made that mistake and saw the beginning of decline. I switched to filtered water ice cubes, once a week, 3 cubes..they are doing well again. I think the thing that makes them perky and happiest of all that its a very visible difference is to give them at least 6-8 hours of very bright "Indirect" Sunlight. I also find they look much better if you keep it from growing leaves or branches along the lower trunk. This allows more nutrients to go to upper leaf use, and you get a better tree look. By the way, these are not my advice and observations. I'm new to plant children in the house, but I read a lot on what I buy for best chances as I hate killin things. Why I follow the Lovely and informative host here. She clearly is passionate about what she does. Sooo, I'm saying if I can do it, you can do it. Oh, I'm using a mix of specific Money Tree formulated soil and Happy Frog Soil which is very good soil. I'm learning very quickly to just vibe them out, and see what they're saying to me because they have all manner of "body language" Thank You, Girl With A Shovel..great video
Gave one to my daughter 5 yrs ago it was in 4 inch pot ,put in huge pot my daughter never waters it ,it is over 7 feet tall ,dont know how it is growing ,with no water 😮
Hi Karina! This all depends on how healthy the roots are and how much energy it's got stored up. I've personally pruned all the leaves off (called a hard pruning) and it's pushing out new ones now. I would give it a shot. Just be careful not to over water right now since only the stem is using water. Good luck!
It's usually brown when it's dry and yellow when it's too wet, but see if the leaves are crinkly. This is a sure sign of too little water. If they're still soft, then it's a sign of too much water/not enough light/not enough drainage... 😊
All I wanted to know is how you trim it back. The one thing you didn’t do. I wanted to know where on the stem do you cut? You talked about it a lot but you didn’t do it. I sure wish you had.
I'm sorry your question wasn't answered. Trimming is usually a part of propagation videos, which I don't have for money trees yet. What you need to do is trim it above a leaf node (the little bump on the stem). This allows the plant to have somewhere to grow a new stem. I usually try to only cut a few stems at a time so the plant still has a few leaves on it. I hope this helps!
That money tree looks a bit unhealthy and leggy. It definitely needs more light and better soil. I use perlite and I also use tropical mix soil to help with water drainage. Grow lights also help if you’re worried it’s not getting enough light. Mine are THRIVING under grow lights
That's why I said I was testing it out in low light first and you can see how leggy it got. Then once I switched to brighter light, it pushed out the very large leaves at the top. I like to push them to the edge to see what they can and cannot handle lol! But you're right that they love more light! 😆

Oh, and she stopped oozing on Friday. Thank you again.
Hi, I was wondering how it does with LED growing lights? It's the only light I really get for my plants indoors. Thank you so much.
Mine are LED's. They seem to do okay, but they don't get the large leaves that you find when they get natural sunlight.
This was sooo helpful I love how u explained everything 🎉 new sub
I have had a money tree for 4 years It has been very happy.. but this past month many leaves have turned brown and are falling off and the leaves are drooping. Do you have any advice?
If they're brown and crispy then it's too dry. If they're yellow and still leaf shaped when they fall off then it's overwatering. I would also check for insects like spider mites. These can be a cause of sudden decline as well... 😮💨
thanks for sharing how to take care of your money tree
I have a money tree for 7 years it’s pretty tall I water it every 2 weeks
Regarding humidity: is misting the plant ok? I’ve been misting mine once a day for the past few days since I don’t have a humidifier
@@thegirlwithashovel thank you so much will do wish me luck!!
new sub and thumbs up for you. letting those shoots grow will help heal those old cut wounds faster(cut/prune paste helps too). ive bonsai'ed a few over the years. very forgiving easy growing plants for sure..
I really hope this isn't offensive but you remind me of a beautiful Praying Mantis if it were human , also thank you for the tips
I can visualize the resemblance. That being said the praying mantis is fabulous for plants. 😊
How come they live in a SWAMP in the wild but they tell you not to overwater them ?
@@sandra-jones yes, I simply place my cuttings in water. Change out the water every week or so, then in a few months you'll have roots! ☺️
My first video.. I water mine a few times a week and it's so thick, dark green, and has exploded in a year..
I'm lost now haha.. now I need to research it more lol...
Edit added: south facing window, dry humidity home, try to help those issues in 4b)
I heard they live in tropical but you can’t put it in direct contact with sun
I water my Money tree about once a week maybe with 3 quarters of a gallon of Piping hot water, i cover the whole soil bed with it then it steams up for a half hour. When i got my Money tree it was just a baby, no bigger then 8 inches tall and maybe 3 inches im width around. I have had it for 7 Years now and it sits a bit higher then 3 feet high and 2 feet in width around.
Lovely! 😍
Is a plastic pot also good?
Plastic pots are fine but they need good drainage. I feel that mine likes the ceramic pot more just because it gives it a better moist/dry cycle since the ceramic holds onto a bit of moisture and will also dry out as the soil dries. I also personally feel that the plastic pots tend to heat up a bit more so you can potentially have your soil and roots a bit less protected in plastic. But that being said a lot of my plants are still in plastic because let's just admit it... It's cheaper! 🤣
Do you think I can put this in an aquarium with fish? Or would that be too much water?
I haven't personally ever seen this plant adjusted to hydroponics. You could give it a shot but I do worry it would not like it. But I know pothos, peace lily, or monstera would all do well, to name a few...
My fish tank is a great humidifier for my plants in winter, and in Summer when the air conditioning is running, which also dries the air inside.
So should we water from the bottom up I normally put the water in a bowl and let the plants drink
Either way is fine. As long as you water it! Haha! 😉
Wow now the clarity on this video is absolutely perfect compared to the one that I watched with the haworthia! Good for you keep up the good work girl I hope you get a million of subscribers this year!
Haha! Thank you! ❤️
Ice cubes work perfect if you add each day, the amount of cubes depends on the size.
I'm glad to hear you are having success with it.
Is October too late to repot my money tree if I think it needs a smaller pot??
If it's having over watering problems because it's in too large of a pot then I would repot it no matter the time of year! 👍
Wow so beautiful planting. Nice choice. Connect stay 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
Thanks… you’ve gained a new subscriber. My leaves are wilted, but still green. Suggestions?
Hi! Wilted leaves can be a sign of either under watering or over watering. I would recommend you get a soil moisture meter to know exactly what the issue is... I hope this helps!
Just bought mines repotted it but noticed a electric tape band around the bottom do i leave it there ? First time having this type of plant 😅
You can remove it.😊
Great tips! thx
Mine is not braided. They're growing exponentially! Any ideas to slow them?
If it's growing a lot because it's leggy then I would give it more sunlight. If there are short leaf nodes then you can slow growth through trimming.
I would be interested in learning more about high oxygen producing plants!!! Please!!!
Should I take the band off at the bottom of the plant ?? I just bought one …
Go ahead. As long as the stems will stay together, it should be fine. If it's left on too long, it can hurt your money tree.
@@thegirlwithashovel thank you so much..
Hello enjoyed your video. I have 2 money trees. But they seems like the stems are getting off. And some of them are dying .What I'm I doing wrong.
I'm not sure what you mean by "the stems are getting off"... ???
@@thegirlwithashovel I meant the branch's. I'm guessing that's what you call them. Help.
@@pasiongonzalez5868 it's either too much water or not enough water. That's usually why branches fall off. Use my tips from the video to determine if you're overwatering or underwatering, and then adjust from there! I hope this helps! 😊
Thank you .I hope so 2 .
Very helpful thank you
How nice your garden thank you so much for sharing
just purchased a Money Tree plant in a 10 inch pot with drainage.
Is that shelf behind you something you purchased or made. I need more light for the plants
@@da5kidd I know they've got a million different setups so I'm sure you'll be able to find what you like with some digging. Good luck! 😉
@@thegirlwithashovel Thanks!
What brand food you use?
I personally use osmocote slow-release fertilizer in my soil and a bonide liquid plant food in my water. 😊
East or west side Window?
Either one. But a west facing window is typically warmer since it has the afternoon & evening sun, so if you live in a hot climate then an east facing window would be better. 😊
dumb question here. but if i have a ceramic pot thats painted black would that still be ok and allow the soil to "breathe" properly???

What fertilizer to use?
Any indoor plant fertilizer will do. Just make sure to follow the dosage instructions on the package!
Excuse-me, I have a question..
Do you know why the leaves of my Pachira are curling up ? The leaves are crumpled.... 😪🥺
Hi! Your leaves are curling due to it being too dry when they first emerge. You can check out my video where I talk more about this and other money tree problems here! ruclips.net/video/GLbiGvTIaHA/видео.html
My money tree is turning brown, there is no drainage in the pot , it’s ceramic pot , should I change the pot ??
Brown is usually not enough water. Yellow is too much water. I would make sure it's brown, then water more! 😊
I followed the directions on my money tree label and I'm here 😔. Hopefully, I can save it! It's my first money tree and on the edge of dying 🥺
I hope these tips helped! I would also recommend you check out my video on money tree troubleshooting to see exactly what is causing your plant to decline. 😊
Wow thanks for sharing videos ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That’s weird my money tree does fine with low low light. It has a lot of babies and the leaves is the same size as yours. However, it right next to my humidifier and it loves it.
I bet it's loving the humidity! 😆
Fabulous Sweety 🌼
I've had mine a little over a year and suddenly it is not doing well. I've reported and reduced the water but now I'm afraid I'm not watering enough! The leaves dry out at the tip of the leaf and creep up the whole leaf.
Yep, sounds like it's drying out. Just check the soil first and make sure it's dry between watering, but don't let it get bone dry! 😂
@@thegirlwithashovel thanks for reply. After I wrote this comment, I went and STARED at my plant & there are indeed spidermites🤒
@@onplanetbanana yep that's probably the most common pest for money tree... Especially in the winter. Go get some spray!!! 😆
Thank you
I think the reason ice cubes don't work well often is that MOST people I've known use tap water to make them. Wow! 😲
My money tree looks good but I’ll see a set of leaves turn completely brown and fall off. Why?
Not enough info here. Possibly not enough light but it really could be a lot of things causing it to not be in the best of health.
How to trim and when
Just trim it when it is getting too big. Trim at the stem at the height you want more growth. 😊
Thank you!
No ice cubes ever baby bio I use not a lot got mine in sale for 5pound grown so well new baby's green x

Put rice water..would be perfect..🥰
Hi Abigail! Do you have any problems with bacteria? I know that can sometimes be a problem when adding food-sourced nutrients...
Good video :)
Can you bring one back to life once all leaves dry out
Hi Karina! This all depends on how healthy the roots are and how much energy it's got stored up. I've personally pruned all the leaves off (called a hard pruning) and it's pushing out new ones now. I would give it a shot. Just be careful not to over water right now since only the stem is using water. Good luck!
@@thegirlwithashovel thank you 🙏
Best to water with luke warm water or filtered/bottled water.
Ice cubes honestly shock the plant. Not good for it.
Yes I totally agree. Don't use ice cubes!!! 😜
Heard these guys live for about 10-15 years. Is it possible to extend that?
It's hard to tell. Once you bring plants indoors it's hard to determine exactly how long it will live for.
Why leaves turn brown and fall off
It's usually brown when it's dry and yellow when it's too wet, but see if the leaves are crinkly.
I actually use ice on my money tree. the tree was dieing now it's back to life

Thanks Michelle!
What fertilizer are best for money tree
🔥
😍
That money tree looks a bit unhealthy and leggy. It definitely needs more light and better soil. I use perlite and I also use tropical mix soil to help with water drainage. Grow lights also help if you’re worried it’s not getting enough light. Mine are THRIVING under grow lights
That's why I said I was testing it out in low light first and you can see how leggy it got. Then once I switched to brighter light, it pushed out the very large leaves at the top. I like to push them to the edge to see what they can and cannot handle lol! But you're right that they love more light! 😆
I keep my money tree in direct south facing window sunlight and it's thriving 😂 plants are weird
Do you have good humidity?! 🙃
Why does my money tree looks like it’s been cut
Because they are cut when they reach a desired height. Then the stems can bush out to make it look more full. 😊
Do not EVER water any plant with ice cubes.
i watered my money tree with Ice Cubes and it turned into a Weed plant
Great video and you sound very sweet. 👍🏼
Ice cubes will shock your plants !! It'll kill roots! Plant say that to make money off you buying new plants ! lol 😂 poor folks
