I was Diane English’s assistant on My Sister Sam. During a writers' strike, I asked if my writing partner and I could pitch ideas. Diane said yes, and we landed our first network assignment!
Later, Diane was working on Murphy Brown. I wasn't working, so I wrote her a letter, reminded her of our previous work, and asked for a chance. She let us pitch, and we sold three scripts for the first season!
