for people who want him to react to manga, he said in the patreon poll that he will react to all seasons and then the manga to see whats different, so dont worry he likely wont drop the series, but if he does then there is no chance he would react to manga. So viewers its in your hands now increase his views and likes to see him react to manga
Well that's good at least. Reading the manga instead would be better, but at least he'll still read it to compare and see how good the series actually is.

I actually love that season. It actually does a lot of development between Kaneki & Touka, which wasn't in the manga.

Man, I haven't watched this season since it aired back in the day! I have so many fond memories with this entire franchise. I remember the hype when we learned we were getting a new route written by Ishida-sensei himself, and waiting week-to-week to see how the story would have played out if Kaneki had chosen the "join Aogiri" route instead of the "return with Anteiku" route. Ishida-sensei wrote an entire novel's worth of details and direction (was it like 300 pages or something? I can't remember off the top of my head. It included lots of storyboards and scenarios to guide the flow of the story), and while only the barest was included, it was an interesting experiment of a season. Thinking back in it, it kind of had the same feel as Kuroshitsuji season 2, where it's not canon, but the fact we got anything at all was a treat. And in this case it's "semi-canon" in the sense that it's completely diverged from the manga source material, but certain moments end up undeniably occurring, and the characters would feasibly react like this if it was an alternate timeline.
Anyway, I was looking forward to that one certain scene between Kaneki and Ayato to see how Neel would react, and was half confused/half shocked when the episode kept progressing and it didn't happen. It left such a vivid impression in my memory that I thought for sure it was animated... did they rework it into a later episode? Maybe I'm remembering that? Although, I don't know where they would have moved it - my memory of the episodes are kind of a blur of fights and running - maybe it was cut out entirely?
At any rate, I'm looking forward to rewatching this together with your reactions! It remains one of my favorite manga, so I'm glad people are still checking it out in any capacity. If it encourages people to become curious about the source material, I couldn't be happier!
(I won't complain if we get a reboot someday, though! We live in hope.)
i hope for a reboot too but i think rather than a reboot give sui ishia's new manga choujin x a new adaptation it has the same vibe as tokyo ghoul maybe mappa would be a fine pick but i don't want the workers to suffer more so madhouse maybe?

Kaneki can change the shape to fit what he's trying to do so it doesn't always have the same form
Bro Tbh. TG is like that one anime that i can watch for so many times. (Like one punch man) Its soo goodman. Definitely s3 was Confusing but i did watch some vid on yt explaining what did they cut. And like there only that one major scene in manga that they cut that it's very valuable for s3. and other than that its all good ones you know what they cut and understand.
Bro the anime is just bad where Tokyo Ghoul could've made it in the west at the scale of Attack on Titans, the anime doesn't have Kaneki's monologues
in season 2 they barely followed the source material and did way too much anime orginal stuff. in later seasons they try to go back to where the manga was heading but it was too late, they completely ruined the anime for me but the manga will always remain a masterpiece. hope they reboot this anime someday...

More so that season 2 didnt follow the manga at all, but then season 3 does again which just makes it a chaotic jumble thats hard to follow as hell, going from S2 to S3.

honestly he should finish season 2, then read the manga for what covers season 1 and 2, then continue with s3. That way it would be waaaaay easier for him to know whats going on properly

@@akamine4766 For good reason. The anime producers decided, for seemingly no reason outside of "I don't want to.", to not follow the manga, and instead try and make an entirely anime original season.
This, naturally, went terribly and absolutely fucked the animes next 2 seasons. Season 2 being all original with them basically doing the opposite of everything the author suggested to try and fix it when they saw the cluster fuck it was turning into, and then them trying to fix it by following the manga for season 3 while trying to keep their original part cannon naturally did not mix well at all, leading to a lacklustre season 3, and by season 4 they retconned a good chunk of season 2 leading to a very confusing season 4 and a very confusing timeline for the series.

Just so you know, most of season 2 never happened in the manga and is anime canon, which they tried to fix in Re. That's the biggest reason people say the anime adaptation of TG is bad (which is subjective), so remember that just in case you dislike season 2, as the original (manga) storyline is actually peak.

Other way round, this season doesn't follow the manga, the next 2 for the most part follows the manga. If they had made Season 2 like the manga and not made a new storyline it would be a good anime, but since they change the story in season 2 then go back to the original in season 3 with no explanation its trash

@@--Centipede-- I've never read the manga but idk how much better Route A needs to be it was great in my opinion and for Re: my only complaint is that we never got to see how "said character" became Haise (to not spoil Neel incase he might read this).
@@Shaquillemcleary Route A was as good as season 1 and maybe better , but the season 2 plot in the manga is entirely different. There are some amazing and brutal fight scenes the studio skipped too. Because they changed the whole plot, they messed up :re :/
Yeah thats why I really disliked Re: 2 it was so rushed and confusing. But I can understand why some ppl had issues with Re: 1, but saying it was all around trash is OD, it wasn't the best but I still enjoyed it.
