Honestly, demon slayer is kind of mid. the animation is unreal, but that's the only special thing about it. Half the arcs seem like a repeat of themselves, the characters aren't very interesting, Tanjiro is good but he could be a bit better. the character design is average and the story is below average. 6/10

Not as overrated as Jujutsu Kaisen , which is typical and boring af (except a lot of characters deaths)

Yea right nothing is wrong with a simpler story. Some of you shits even miss small details and lose the plot even though its so simple. It has just about everything in little bits and enough to make you come back. I can't tell you how many times I've been surprised by this show. Ive also seen way worst

@@trapking2009 From my point of view, I see that what makes a good story is (the development of the characters + the world of the story + the timeline of the story and the interconnected events and explaining everything that happens to the viewers, and what I mean is explaining everything important to the story + twisted events or shocking events that the viewer did not expect to happen For example, the viewer thinks that a character in a work is good, but it later becomes clear that he has selfish goals.
You might be asking me, "Okay, but what does this have to do with Demon Slayer being a bad story?"
My friend, the story of the demon slayer does not contain character development, as Tanjiro, who is kind and cheerful at the beginning of the story, is the same as Tanjiro, who is good and cheerful at the end of the story.
Do you know what is funny about this? Imagine with me that you know a person and this person’s family died and his sister became disabled after an accident.
The next day, you saw the same person talking to you, laughing, and smiling. Would you classify him as human like you?
What about the pervert Zenitsu? Every moment he appears, turn down the volume of the phone because he screams loudly. It is not that he does it rarely or does it a little, but he screams in every episode in which he appears.
He previously thought that he would change later, but he didn't until the last fifteen chapters. Can you imagine that?
I'm tired of people praising this failed work.
If the studio had not been able to save the work with their strong drawing and bright anime colors, Demon Slayer would have been in the news.

I conclude by saying that this was a summary of my point of view, and I know that you will not read this anyway, and this comment does not add fat or satiate any hunger, and it will not change your opinion in any way, and there is a possibility that I will be captured and stoned with bricks.

@@omarSUPERCOOL Isn't Edward from FMA also basically the same character from episode 1 to the finally? There is a slight development in perspective right at the end, but I won't add any spoilers in case you or others reading this hasn't read or seen it yet. He still yells about being short. He's still cocky and defiant. His relationship and opinion of specific characters, like Scar, changes with more information, but the same can be said about Tanjiro as he gets to know the other characters and understands them.

I'm not going to claim that your opinion isn't valid. But I do disagree in both portraying a simple narrative as necessarily worse than a complex one, and that Demon Slayer's plot is predictable. You compared the plot to very different types of stories, such as FMA and AoT, which both are mystery stories and set in fictional worlds and deal with political situations, and are both some of the best written stories in anime. But they aren't good because of the complexity. Look at One Piece as another example of complexity. It is all over the place, introducing dozens of new one off characters with every arc and has no idea what direction to go. Imagine how much better One Piece would be if the author had some focus and patience to tell a "less complex" story.
Demon Slayer is a relatively short story. Throwing in gimmicks like twist bad guys or sub-plots of international relationships or making the brother of the protagonist become an anti-hero who joins the bad guys or some other overused "complexity" is only necessary when a story is being drawn out and new stakes or twists must be added to spice up the stakes.
I also have no idea why you'd refer to Tanjiro as annoying. That's a highly subjective criteria, but still, you're the first person I've heard have that opinion. He's a kind soul, but that doesn't make his character arc flat or boring. If anything, it's a fresh and unique character in a genera that's oversaturated with the brooding emo kid who will slay demons with their shear edginess.
Now, I'm an anime only, so I don't know what the movies may hold, so I skipped the last part of the video for fear of spoilers, but that kind of goes against your point about it being predictable. I do not know how it will end, other than the good guys winning. That can be said of most stories. But I don't know why will fight who. Who will die. How they'll win. What powers the enemies will have. What powers the heroes will awaken. Nothing. I didn't predict Muzan walking up on Ubuyashki. I didn't predict the explosion or trap. I didn't predict the infinity castle trap, other than at some point in the story there had to be a fight in the castle.
Your complaint about the pacing I can sort of get. Though I happen to be an advocate for stories not having to twist themselves to fit a certain episode length. They should be as long as the story needs them to be. Some of the recovery and training parts were a little slow, yes. But they were still entertaining, and there wasn't that much of it. Especially compared to other popular anime. As I said, most of this is opinions, but I'm really struggling to see your side on these points. They seem like nitpicks and wild exaggerations and stretching to comparing the story to some of the best anime with very different story structures to make a point.
There are things I don't like about the show. I'm not going to pretend it's perfect, but you didn't touch on those things. I disliked how Tanjiro went from being a peasant driven into greatness by strong motivation and training, to becoming a chosen one character with a destined lineage. I despise the chosen one trope. I dislike the ambiguity of if the breathing techniques are magically manifesting elemental powers without explanation, or if they're metaphors. I thought Gyoko had potential as a mystical power demon instead of a physical one, but kind of felt underwhelming. There are negatives, but they are still nitpicks.

@@LamirLakantry i like the chosen one trope. But the story of demon slayer never pushed any narrative of hardwork beats talent of stuff like that. Tanjiro being a sun breather makes sense since his sword is black and not the normal water breathing colour.
