2020 started a new covid hobby for my retreat ,never done any type of Art before , I built-up studio and watched tons of tutorials found many Great Artist , found you and came back to you to put you on the top of my list ! Ireally love your work and the way you teach. I see you have been around for over 15years ,many people thumbs-up and left comments back then ,now I see lots of viewings and few thumbs-up! if the stats are right. I d'ont understand people are taking things for granted and not taking the time to thumbs-up or leave nice comments for apreciation , that is so important for an Artist. You have put some full oil painting lessons ,that is very good so people can try to follow along and if they get good at it they will want to buy your courses. You are very generous person . Hope life is giving all back what you put out! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent! 🙏 Greetings from Québec!🐕

Thanks for mentioning a few times that you were “highlighting the dark area BELOW”. I am a new painter and when you mention contour I was thinking of a map with elevations and contour lines coming closer together which I’ve translated into bringing light forward rather than pushing the light back to bring a darker shape forward. Thanks so much it just all clicked today I hope to apply it in my own studio thank you Tim and I appreciate you’re still here as I’ve been away for about a year.

@@gagnonstudio why did you delete so many older videos- you were the number one popular artist on RUclips back then- when you became popular and started having shows and articles- you neglected the very people your subscribers and viewers on RUclips- neglected us- never reading nor responded to comments- charade around- with your popularity- then came back after a yr or more- with time lapse of one min posting-
Left yet again- never responded to comments came back with promises that you broke- telling viewers you were going to post regularly and stopped not long after- left again- now coming back and having deleted all the original tutorials that actually got all your subscribers to subscribe- now leaving all these one min time lapses- teasers for your expensive tutorials online- which few or many were once posted on RUclips!!
Who is managing you ! If it’s you- your really not a nice guy nor business person using your subscribers coming back - with broken promises only to leave again and again - and deleting tutorials on your channel!!!
Many painters started channels because of how fast you grew- they are now with a million subscribers- something you could of had- but took the fake with articles and giving speeches- it died down- you again come back telling all you would post regular tutorials- then left and now telling all with this teaser to join patreon!!!
      WTH are you doing??
Do you remember SAN Francisco- Eddy street? Not an easy life there-
You need to consider what your doing-
Abandoning subscribers who were the reason you became big at the time- coming back after yr at one point- again telling all you were going to post being consistent weekly only to do the same-
Never reading your comments from your supporters!
Now you’ll have traffic from newbies who will become excited- and learn in the long run what your about as far as being a creator for RUclips and how to disrespect your subscribers and viewers! TIM
      Remember: Eddy street!

Do you have to put a liquid white base layer all over the canvas first also doing this? Or is that not necessary? Just started learning to paint. Thanks and have a great day!

@@gagnonstudio I'm practicing on cheap canvas and Bob R and winton paint , i see it doesn't give the same results I will have to take out my Gamblin and Artist grade canvas and try it out . I noticed people really apreciate when Artist answer their comments,we are getting very spoiled out here! Thank you so much!😀

The blending part would be difficult. You could do something similar if you used a slow drying medium.
