OSP, Geecrack etc use a salt base in their sofubi lure it helps maintain both an interesting texture and allows for the retention of that scent that's the only reason why I like the official ones, I haven't figured out how to get that same texture due to the salt. great video my friend!
@@Mags120fish1 Nice, great idea! Is the shape similar? Believe it or not the shape is important. It will always be a pain to string them but you kind of get in a groove and it isnt so bad.🤣

@@Mags120fish1 The shape helps the bait with what the Japanese call an escape action. When moved quickly it has a quick stop. Of course there are tons of plastics with silicone these days but the dice shape has proven itself winning alot of money in Japan and the U.S. if its working for you and you have confidence then thats great!
Thats a great idea. The bottom would have to be flat so you could glue the plastic down and im sure you could pry it out with a knife. The sides dont matter at all so if the prying screwed it up it wont matter. Let me know if you try it.
If that works for you keep it up, but thats like saying use any old stick bait not a yamamoto senko. The senko just flat out produces thats why we use it. The dice is not a cut senko.
@Ijustwanttofish2024 I'll be the first to say this. I personally haven't seen one bit of a difference in fishing Yamato senko vs. others none. It comes down to what you have confidence in. Two, I'm saying you can take any worn-out plastic bait and make a spider dice thing, bass eat and eat, they will eat anything when they are in the mood.
@@rickvann3489 The whole point of dice or using a yamamoto senko is because we are fishing for fish that are not in the "mood". Thats where you will notice a difference. If you dont, all good.
I dont think it would be easy cutting the cubes but Im not sure. As far as just melting the plastic in a microwave safe container that is cube shaped Im not sure it will work, but let us know if you try it.
@@formatr6 There is no reason. you can do as many as you like. I started off with one to experiment. Then I did another. Then I made my own body a bit bigger so I had three bodies at that time. I used a needle and skirt material last year to turn yamatanukis into imo kemushis and had a lot of great luck!
Awesome idea, I love it. Very creative. There is really so much you can do with soft plastics and skirting material.
ordered skirt material and a threader for this. got some of the new 4.25 yamatanukis
@@cm-pu6tx super easy mod. i just threw on some youtube and went to it for a whole pack. Took like 20 min or so!
This is great to hear. I’ve got some of those and some other super salty heavy fat jdm baits I’ll try this with 😊
@@cm-pu6tx great idea and info, thanks!
Thanks for showing how to make these! Enjoy how to videos! Thanks for taking the time to make the videos!

great video my friend!
use old bellows gills etc and melt them down. I swear to you tho I have thrown them at fish side by side and there is no difference.
The dice are around $5 ea. I'm definitely trying it this winter when I'm not fishing and tinkering in the garage. Thanks.
Great idea, good luck!
Cut a SK Echo into sections an add silicone or live rubber. Cheap and works.
Thanks!
You can use a silicone ice cube tray. I bought one that is 1/2 cubes. Has 84 cavities. Can pour more than one at a time.
great idea. going to explore it.
I just used the silicone ice cube tray. It works excellent. Can make 84 at a time. It’s still a pain to string them. It takes some time

Great content. Subbed.
Thanks man! appreciate it!
what is that tool called you used for threading the skirt strips thru
Its just called a rubber threader made by decoy
Dude great video gave ya a follow 💪
Thanks so much! I have a lot of great stuff coming.
Pretty Slick 👍🏻
thanks!
I actually just used some small dice 🎲 to make my molds
Awesome. Good luck!
make one mold that's about 10 cubes long or so, then just cut them to size?
yes you could do that. You would need 10 bodies to start. The plastic dries pretty quick so even with a few mold you can make them pretty quickly.
Cool vid! What is the tool called?
Pretty sure its just called a rubber threader. Its made by decoy.
Could you use a small ice tray for a mold? Or would it hard to get them out of the tray?

Silicone ice cube tray works great.
Why not mold a long square log , then just cut off the square dice from the log. Molding each dice separately is nuts, as I see it.
the plastic might not cut as nicely as your thinking. Also they dry pretty quickly and I make alot in a short amount of time.
Lmao... take a big senko and thread spinnerbait/ jig skirt through a section cut it to desired size fish. ( I usually us old worn baits)
If that works for you keep it up, but thats like saying use any old stick bait not a yamamoto senko. The senko just flat out produces thats why we use it. The dice is not a cut senko.

@Ijustwanttofish2024 understood, my point is this will work by just making your own and a lot cheaper
If you make your own mold why not make one that has four/ five cavities. Uses less silicone and you can pour more than one at a time.
You need a single dice per mold slot and I didnt want to waste them at the time. But there is no reason why you cant.
why not just pour into a rectangular containers and cut them into cubes? Better yet get a microwave safe tray and avoid pouring all together.
I dont think it would be easy cutting the cubes but Im not sure. As far as just melting the plastic in a microwave safe container that is cube shaped Im not sure it will work, but let us know if you try it.

Ocho not Echo. I hate spell check.
I was wondering, lol
or.. hear me out.. cut small sections off of a senko.. it doesnt even have to be perfect..
Yeah I did that originally. My opinion it dosent work the same but you will get bit.
