It made my day when I received a notification that you had posted a new video, as I just knew that I would learn something. As well as being very educational, I really like your style, pace, level of detail and very methodical and knowledge approach. Listening to your soothing voice and how you solve things is incredibly relaxing too. You are totally awesome ♥️
Thanks for the compliments, David and Rebecca. I do my best to keep the pace moving along, and packing in the detail that you might need to make the job go smoothly.
i wish i had this style of tub/shower plumbing just so i could do this project!! It's great to know that things like this can be fixed instead of tearing stuff out and making expensive replacements.
Hi Rocket Rider! It's been a fun project, including making the video. I hope I am able to keep some things out of landfills. The newer faucets are not the same quality as the older ones, unless you want to spend a lot of money. I was fortunate to be able to get the parts for free. One cartridge at my local big box store was about $32. Price Pfister sells kits that include all the valves, hardware and knobs. For some folks that may be the way to go if it fits your valve body.
Great video and I "ditto" David B!! I had to replace two valves on the tub about 8 months ago and I wish I had seen this video!! Thankfully, the guys at the plumbing shop we're able to answer 20 questions!! 🤣🤣🤣
Great little video the seat was the one part that I was having trouble with that I did not know to replace! I was wondering what those little things were in the package!
I was wondering if you could answer a question briefly....everything looks great and I've got everything installed properly it seems, but I feel like the pressure could be a little better, I wonder how I could increase that? and also when I turn off the diverter valve to switch between the spout to the shower, a little bit of water continually comes out of the spout , I wonder how I could get that fixed as well? any information you can provide is greatly appreciated, keep up the great videos! love your channel
Hi Alan, I'm not clear on everything you have replaced. I presume you bought new valve stems for the hot and cold and did not repair them? Were they OEM parts or parts from another company? Did you repair/replace the diverter valve? Did you replace the seats?
Know How Now i purchased a new Danco price pfister kit, replaced all original pfister hardware including the seats, hot/cold valve, diverter, handles, etc
Great tips especially the one about the lifetime warranty! When I turn the shower divert valve water flows great out of the shower but when it’s in the opposite position water barely flows out of the hot or cold lines to the faucet. How could the shower diverter valve cut the flow of water to a trickle to the faucet? None of the valves leak.
It's hard to say what is going on with the diverter until you remove it. You will have to take it apart to repair anyway. Maybe there is debris clogging something.
im sure you figured out the problem by now since its been 3 years since your comment. Mine is doing something similar. Every so often while im taking a shower, the water just seems to cut off. no water from the faucet or shower head.

Hi so I have a cartridge type stem but I can’t find the brand. There is no marking in which I can check. I am trying to search online but I can’t find it. What exactly do I type on google to look for these cartridge type ones? Also is it still okay to use a compression type one even if you have a cartridge one????
Hi Theresa, you might try taking a picture of the faucet. You can upload the photo to google and do search by image. You might get lucky and find a match. If you have a plumbing supply house, show the picture of the faucet to them, they may know what it is. For sure you want the correct replacement part, other wise you are going to have trouble... you'll need the cartridge type. support.google.com/websearch/answer/1325808?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

PS - I have zero leaks, everything is nice and tight and all hardware is brand new...up to the supplies...no leaks on supply side or on tub side
