How To: Greddy Supreme Exhaust Install On My 10th Gen Honda Civic Si Sedan

- In this video I install a secondhand greddy suppreme (SP) exhaust system into my 2017 Honda Civic Si (thanks @tristiancefail!). The procedure can be done in several ways, and to be honest its easiest if you have a lift and a second pair of hands. In my case a driveway + jackstands/ramps works just fine to perform the install on your own.

*Below are notes on the parts I used with the install of this used exhaust system*
EXHAUST GASKETS: I purchased these exhaust gaskets from Vibrant Performance, but you can also contact Greddy for replacement gaskets as well.

EXHAUST NUTS (to bolt front pipe): There are three nuts you can replace if you want, but one of the three nuts has a different thread size. Check out the links below:
- 2x 90212-SA5-003 from www.bkhondapar...
- 1x (this third screw had a different thread size but used the same socket size to remove/install. Tag me in a comment if you know where to find it!)
ADDITIONAL HARDWARE: Lastly I just went into a local parts store with the front pipe to look for the nuts/bolts that would fit well. To be specific on the ones I purchased, the bolts were 1/2 - 13/2" Hex Head Cap Screws and the nuts were 1/2-13 Grade 8 hex Nuts from autozone. Also bought a few washers/lock washers as well to keep things tight.

Love my Greddy Supreme SP as well, one thing I had to do when I got mine was I had to air hammer out the studs on the stock front pipe and use new hardware supplied with the exhaust.
Damn that sucks man, yeah exhaust work is fun until you need to replace stock hardware 🥵

Guess I need to do something about mine, the stock wheels need to go first, but I have been looking at this exhaust system and it does look like a nutsack. Some kid asked me why I bought a 2019 Si when I could of bought a Type R. Told him mines paid off and I still have an Extra $20K I didn’t have to spend.
Totally hear your perspective 🤘. A type r is an amazing car, but it's not practical for everyone . I stuck with an Si cuz I wanted an economy car that I can still have fun in on occassional track days. Saving the extra money is nice too, especially when that money could go into the same type of mods that even a type r owner would consider.

The only reason I didnt buy the greddy is because of the nut sack look. The civic sport hatch greddy looks so much better. I dont get why they gave the si those huge mufflers, which is why I ended up with the invidia r400.
Haha yeah I don't mind the nut sack look at all, I think it's rather comical 😂. I agree the hatch exhaust from greddy looks better, but I'm still happy with my purchase 👌

Always loved the Greddy sound and build quality of their exhausts, but what they did here honestly looks like a set of truck nuts to me. I hope they come out with something a little more subtle for these cars.
I feel like the greddy exhaust looks better on the coupe and the invidia q400 looks better on the sedan. Nice 10th gen btw

You almost made me regret my decision of not buying the Si, but going with the 2019 Corolla Hatchback XSE instead. The quality of the video is excellent, but I still prefer my XSE. Much more fun and looks better. This is obviously very subjective as each one of us has a preferred taste that’s better to us. :) Cheers.

Nice deep tone. This is what i want, but at 8:50 is what has me worried my driveway has a steeper angle and i'm lowered. I'm afraid the mufflers may hang a bit too low and may scrape going in and out of driveways.
I can agree with your concerns, I've actually grazed it on a steep incline already. Looking to either bend the hangars or get different mounts so raise it up another inch if possible 🤷🏻♂️
@@Pawinning I thought the same, bending the hangar may get it up a half inch or so. Are you lowered if so how much of a drop?

Yo I had the same problem with the front pipe exit & greddy sp. My solution was use the OEM bolts & I didn't put on the gasket.
Yeah man there weren't many threads with the OEM studs when I installed the gasket, but I made the best of it I'd say. Glad I wasn't the only one!
Your hangers came off wayyyyy to easy compared to what everyone else said. Lifting the weight of the pipe with your jack and wd40 seems to work real good for you. Im gonna do that.
Agreed, I was extremely surprised cuz all I needed was a little bit of lithium grease and the hangars slid off with my own strength. I've worked on a few exhausts in Audi's and BMWs and most of their hangars never come off without a fight 🤷🏻♂️.

Did you remove the muffler heat shields from the stock exhaust? Mine is rattling on startup when it’s warm and I believe the muffler on the greddy is hitting the stock heat shield.
I did not remove any factory heat shielding. Didn't notice any contact with the Greddy exhaust when I installed it as well 🤷🏻♂️. I'm sorry to hear about your rattles, hope it's an easy fix. I feel your pain tho, I have a leak coming from the flexible joint in the front pipe that the greddy exhaust bolts on to, been driving me nuts lol 😅
Pawinning oh no! I hope you can get that taken care of. I just got an fx350 installed and the mechanic found the issue, it was in fact a heat shield but it was one closer up front by the front pipe. Removed it, problem solved.
Any Drone with this exhaust ? I have a Muffler Delete on my 20 Si and good god, its loud. Looking for something a little quieter when letting of the throttle on 3k.

when you installed the exhaust did you get a weird smell coming out of it. I installed my nvdia exhaust perfectly and it just smells really bad but i cant quite describe the smell. Is that the exhaust breaking in or what do you guys think?
I didn't install this exhaust brand new, but I would be worried about an initial smell on a new exhaust for a few days. As long as the smell doesnt worsen I'd say your fine.

Might an easy swap to fab up, but all depends on the diameter of the piping and how you choose to match them together after you cut off the stock tip and the aftermarket tip

Thinking to get a GReddy for my 2019 Sport Hatch. The stock exhaust; lower half turns black. Looks like some sorta carbon build up. Nonetheless, let me ask; does the GReddy turn black?
I think regardless of the exhaust setup you choose, the tips will get gunked up with carbon deposits over time. But a simple cleaning with some metal polish should do the trick to make the tips look shiny/new again 🙏😎
Pawinning Thanks. Will clean them up this weekend. Never have since purchase 😂. Also. It’s funny. The more I read about the cons of mods, the less inclined I am. So far TSW wheels & Katzkin leather is all I’ve done. The performance mods look and sound so appealing in theory though. Oh well, thanks for the “tip” 😉
Why stop at the Si when there’s a type r available?
The type r is out of my price range for a daily. But if I want to drive something faster that the Si I'll take out my E36 🤘😎
Other than making your car sound like a fart can, are there any measurable power increases?
Personally I think it sounds dope, but I haven't put the car on a Dyno before, but a few people have dm'ed me saying theyve seen gains on the Dyno, but nothing extraordinary

The greddy catback in this video doesn't have the front pipe. I actually ended up switching to the full AWE catback, as that kit also included the front pipe 🙌

Two clearances? Now that you’ve had it would you recommend it? I wanted to go with the HKS but they are sold out and in back order, would you say this one is just as nice?
"Tool clearances ", sorry I glazed over how I said it too quick 😅! I do really enjoy the sound, nice and low without being too loud. The look ain't for everyone, but I recommend it. I've heard from some people that you get some extra hp with this one too. But haven't been given any Dyno numbers. Hope this helps! 🙏

Heck yeah brotha! Either way the car is super dope! Gave me that little push to grind a bit harder and get into one. Was going to sell my built turbo integra to help fund it but I think I'll just keep stashing cash until I am where i want to be. Plus the 2020 refresh is lookin perfect imho.
