Really nice. I love the washboard cut and love your natural sort of foody style of natural soap too. That's so my thing too! love it.

Thanks so much! 😊 I really want to use only natural ingredients for colorants and essential oils instead of fragrance oils in my soaps that are for my personal use.

Cedarwood mixed with other EO is a good anchor.

Isn't coconut oil high for facial soap??

I think you're right about that; I am new to soap making so this is definitely a learning curve for me. After using this soap for a couple of weeks now the cleansing/dry factor of the coconut oil doesn't seem to affect my skin as I have naturally oily facial skin. I have noticed a visible difference in less acne breakouts since using this soap.

Curious. Why such high water? And why cumin seed oil?

This was one of my very first recipes, so definitely learning about how to use and follow soap calc; I was going by the 38% in soap calc, which I have since learned that percentage is for Hot Process soap making. I have recently been using 1.5:1 water to lye ratio. As for the Cumin Seed Oil; I have read that Black Cumin Seed Oil helps to reduce acne, helps to soothe psoriasis, Promotes wound healing, and is generally helpful to the health of the skin and hair. So for those reasons it is an ingredient that I wanted to use in my facial bars for those benefits.

@@JaniceLynn81the benefits of oils works on leave-on products but not soap because the when saponification happens they are no longer oils. Also, it all touches the skin for basically seconds before it is washed down the drain. Soap cleanses, it doesn't improve the skin. In fact it is illegal in the US to claim anything other than cleansing.

@@debbieescobar6267 agree I would save these precious and expensive oils for creams/lotions.
