    Freight is soooo much more interesting than passenger stock - but when hauled by a Deltic, that's an exception! Thanks for sharing, what a great place to watch trains!

    Deltic is doing 102mph by my estimate! :D
    Looking at the time it took the train to pass one of the patches in the ballast and the video frames, I'd estimate it took the train 3.93 seconds for its 179.9m (5 car DBSO, CL55, CL87, 2x standard opens) length to pass.

    • @martinplatt5928
      @martinplatt5928 Год назад +2

      1609 metres in a mile. That's 35.15 seconds to do a mile. 3600 seconds in an hour so 3600/35.15 = 102.41 mph if my maths is correct.

    • @butikimbo9595
      @butikimbo9595 Год назад

      Not entirely sure but those wheels (not discs) might have something to do with manual mechanisms of the wagons and possibly manual brakes. But as i mentioned before not sure as is at least one on the side of them as many other wagons use to have though to manual brake them but on the rear is not so common and i do not know what are they for.
