Quite some years ago, I was working at a satellite earth station in the Santa Monica Mountains above Malibu, CA. Bobcats (bay lynx) were prevalent in the area. One day, while up on one of the structures, I looked down to see a bobcat lazily looking around in the chaparral, close to the fence line...not uncommon in that area. The bobcat paused and looked behind himself, tail swinging gently, and soon, a red tabby appeared, running toward the bobcat. As soon as the tabby caught up, they both continued on toward another thicket of manzanita and up into a draw and out of view. I was quite amazed. The cat appeared to be wearing a flea collar. I didn't see the pair together again for awhile, but a local resident I spoke with about a year later mentioned that his cat roamed free in the area now and then, and I related my observation to him. The tabby was his, and his name was George, and he said that George and Bob the Bobcat were old friends who would go meandering together! I did see them on a ramble one more time before transferring to another location, Bob in the lead, always waiting for George to catch up! His human said he was seven at that time and had somehow met Bob when he was a year old. Cats always know who their friends are, it would seem.

When kittens are young, they learn who their friends and family are. Show a kitten love, and they will always be your friend, even when that kitten is a lynx, or a cougar, or a lion.

that's one of the core cat's reflexes of getting milk of their mommy tits - at work here. They can do it from time to time to animals they love, including humans.
Considering that many cats already interact with their human companion as if it was a bigger cat, I'm not surprised that two different kinds of cats can be frens
It's always heartwarming to see these kinds of stories, though I believe this sort of thing is more common than we know. Even in the wild. Especially if both animals end up together from a young age for whatever reason.
Makes me happy though it also made me feel a bit uneasy i must admit. Its the difference in size making me feel like this but it seems to go fine so. 🙂🙏❤️

They're basically cousins at this point. 🤭 Animals are a lot smarter than we think. Linda understands that she's bigger and stronger than Dusja, so she's extra careful when playing with her.
There is this tiger that gets a dog mom, even when the tiger grown up to be 5 time the size of the dog, the dog mom still break fights against other animals
real friends are friends in the bad ones and in 40 years i ve learned those friends are the ones mother always told me not to hang out with , the rest are there to suck you dry , also , having that beast watching over you kicks ass
