I worked in 2 boarding kennels and it's true. The dogs were great! I was disappointed with many of the people. They thought animal care was a work vacation every day.
Our family has always owned wiener dogs - always rescues. Every one of them was brave beyond sane measure. They are brave to the point of almost being self-destructive. They don't think that anything is beyond their grasp. A dachshund picking a lion for a friend? Not shocking at all. 💗
true, my family when I was growing up had a couple of Dachshunds, one met an early end due to his "bravery." One day we had a package delivered to our back door step inside of our gate. Our dogs had access to that back porch and would stay out there most of the day waiting for us while we were gone. We got home that day and Spencer was his name, we adopted him with that name, was hiding. He never did that, not that when we were getting home. We ended figuring out that he was injured. The mail man had kicked him or something. He definitely was the kind of dog that would get aggressive if someone was intruding, despite his tiny size. It was an injury to his back and it became intermittently a problem for him, it was sad. Then one night my parents had a bunch of people over and someone accidentally stepped on him or something, finishing off the injury and paralyzing his back legs. We couldnt afford the surgery or anything so we had to get him put down at age 8. The other guy we had until he was 16, he was like a brother to me. I have a special place in my heart for Dachshunds as a result. The whole point was yes they are super brave little buggers. Spencer was known for accidentally escaping through our front door and bull rushing much much larger dogs and trying to engage them. He had this interesting tactic of barrel rolling from side to side when the dogs would come at him. Luckily the dogs were usually leashed and controlled by their owners. And luckily none of them seemed to perceive an actual threat from him. They would be more confused it looked like.
For some reason our family always owned a miniature dachshund and a full-size German Shepherd. The dogs ate, slept, played and explored our rural neighborhood together. When Gretchen, our 5-pound dachshund, figured out that she could tunnel under the chain link fence of the dog enclosure so that she could go exploring, our 80-pound Shepherd, Angus, found out very quickly that he couldn't fit into the opening Gretchen had created, so he figured out how to scale the chain link fence so that he could join his best friend and roam the neighborhood together. I convinced my parents to simply leave the gate open so that the dogs could come and go as they pleased without fear that Gretchen might get trapped under the chain link fence or that Angus might get tangled-up trying to scale it. It all worked out really well as the dogs always left, then came home, together...and they stayed together until both of them finally died of old age.

@@evawin4046 did you hear the part where the lion has a bone disease and wouldn't survive in the wild with it? That is why he is caged. He would be dead if they released him
Not quite as unorthodox as people assume. While its kind of not normal for a male lion to have a life long friend of another species, its absolutely normal for a wild male lion to have a life long friend and companion in another male lion. In the wild male lions form these friendships early, either while still in the Pried as youngsters, or shortly after they are forced out of the pride. Its why you will ALWAYS see two males in a pride. Those two males will be together for the rest of their lives, its very unusual for a male to survive the death of his friend by very long. So male lions actually have an inbuilt predilection to make at least one lifelong friend.

In this case id say that's probably true. That loin lived in captivity its whole life because of its health problems which could mean that loins killing instincts aren't very strong. On top of that bonds formed during adolescence are normally very strong and that loin probably just doesn't look at the dogs as food. they are like a substitute for what would be his loin pride.

@@goosemoose4343 that’s true but you have to understand from this video that they have clearly built a relationship, that lion could not eat or drink without seeing them, so why would it feel the need to hurt them at all when it NEEDS them to survive? Now I’m more worried about the lion accidentally laying down with its heavy body, but this lion seems to be aware and is being careful. If the dogs are taken away, that lion would surely die. What is the solution that you have? It seems the dogs were never once hurt or maybe one of them was hurt and it was and why they were separated in the first place. Now I do suggest perhaps the lion could find another pride in a sanctuary and more greenery in its compound (i don’t know much about prides so correct me if I’m wrong if they accept a disabled lion). Another idea is they probably shouldn’t let the dogs in the compound but just at the fence, I’d be fine with that also. I wouldn’t also mind hearing a recent update about them and reports of incidents of there are any. But other than that, the lion is being well taken care of and looked after, and so are the dogs

@@IMODELCROCSwhat an idiotic and ignorant comment. Especially when talking about lions.. It's very simple, its easy to be peaceful and loving when all of your needs and safety are provided for, and there is zero scarcity or competition for resources (or mates). That's true of most animals, and humans also. But the real world isn't like that.. Just look into how lions behave in the wild..

We can't exactly say that... Since we humans use our brain force and mind, animals are entirely based on instincts. They might create some sort of presumed bonds with anything that they grow up with, though unlike humans it is very broken... such as when a lion leaves its own pride and returns to it again and banishes all of his male cubs from the pride or else he would kill them. The lion then proceeds to mate with even his own daughters from that pride... This is their nature as they act out based on their instincts.
@@javadbahram795 Are you saying that animals aren't sentient? Everything you have accused lions of humans also do. Humans rape, murder other people's children, etc.... and this video is proof they don't operate entirely on instinct and have feelings and free will. It's not instinctive for lions to befriend a tiny dog. If it only operated on instinct it would kill that dog. Humans are not more moral than animals we are just smarter than them. If we were so moral we wouldn't need laws and police.

Longing for a friend is not a lesson in humanity. We all feel alone at least at one point in our lives and believe me, I don't need an animal to teach me that type of grief of loss and joy of reunion.
Wow, that was incredibly amazing. Glad they took a chance at letting him play with the Dachshund again even after grown, he felt happy again instantly.🥹☺️❤❤
I understand the concern and good on the caretakers for at least questioning if they were doing the right thing and wanting to keep the dog safe. It does seem as though the lion is incredibly gentle with that pupper and enjoys the company.
As a lifelong dachshund owner it’s not surprising that 1 would befriend a lion. They’re very brave and behave bigger than they are. They believe they’re in charge. Most don’t know that they’re bred for hunting badgers, so brave and adventurous is in the DNA.
That is unmistakably two best friends.. So sweet. That lion probably felt so lonely as a cub with his legs. The little dog gave him the companionship he needed to feel loved..
@ how else would you determine the sex of a young lion whose nuts you can’t see? It is a young Bonedigger and Milo btw, I too was skeptical but it took 30 seconds to find a credible source ruclips.net/video/WAaia3882ec/видео.html
@@Lugo1908 When people think it's acceptable to participate in the degradation of animals who suffer just as we do, it becomes easier to see how they can be convinced to do it to each other.
A google search does inform me that this story is actually true, however. Such a rarity these days, where so many of these vids are using an artificial voice with a fictitious narrative featuring multiple different animals. And then you look at the comments, and completely lose faith in our own species....
Narrators often get obvious details wrong to get people to comment, just boosting "engagement". It's all about the mysterious algorithms, and here I am contributing to it.
@@abeartheycallFozzy Some use AI voice, even though they probably have very little English. Many others just puck a narrative out of their fundament, using pics (getting found out because they use obvious different animals). Even darker still, there is a trend of people deliberately putting an animal in dangerous situations, so the 'hero' can be seen rescuing it.

Cutting onions over this lion and his dachshund friend.

I’m so alone
Facts
I can understand how it would be unsafe, but the lion was truly gentle with them. I’m sure even today, the lion is still being gentle!~ ❤
One bite and its all over for the doogo.....wild animals always have that possibility to happen....that's how it could be unsafe.
@@rosenia5409 If you really believe the lion wouldn't eat or drink without seeing them, you need to permanently retire your pipe.
@@michaeldavid6284 🤦♀️
@@michaeldavid6284 this is why the owner with the lion and his dogs close off to the public is because of people like you. It was inspirational story and very rarely happens so if you don’t believe it then I could care less 🤷♀️
Awww and he’s so gentle with them. Oh my heart ♥️ ♥️.
This made me tear up. Wonderful.

Amazing how animals can show this kind of emotion and empathy beautiful
i think animals are much smarter than most give them credit for and maybe we do that as a defense in our minds because we kill and consume animals.
@ humans are afraid of what they don’t understand and always seek to destroy it out of fear. Your comment above is very true my friend.
@@IMODELCROCS So do the animals. Unfortunately it is just how Nature is. I don't like it, but I accept it. People discredit other humans' intelligence too. Based on all sorts of arbitrary means. I honestly don't know why people do it.
Just look into how lions behave in the wild..
the best thing I have saw all day so sweet so beautiful friendship ❤❤❤❤❤❤

It’s actually a sad story. Google it.
Doxies are the best dogs evef!! This precious lion is so sweet!! Love their friendship!!!
Please keep them friends daily!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
This just proves every living being is a sentient being and needs companionship and trust.
@@javadbahram795Dude just go with the flow
@@Aristocratic13 You mean to accept things that are incorrect just because a certain number of people say so? I need my freedom of thoughts, thank you...
That's wrong and you know that. There are animals like jellyfishes who gives a completely f*ck. Also reptiles, bugs, etc.
Never thought I'd be sobbing over a Lion and a dachshund Jesus Christ this got me gal 😭 why I'd happily live on a planet with just animals any day!

What a beautiful story. That poor lion, with an awesome name "Bone Digger". This is why I love dogs sooo much. Not only do they help humans but other animals. Wonderful.
Dachshunds are the greatest gift from heaven 🥰
Their barks are loud, but their loyalty and love is even louder.
Wow! This really does my heart good! Animals are amazing! I pray that they both live a long healthy life together 🙏

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I'M IN TEARS....OF JOY!!!😀😀😀
My best friend at age 7 was a dog that looked just like Milo. Best dog I ever had.
You can't just take away his little big brother. Lions are highly social. Glad they realized it sooner rather than later.
Precious! 😇😇 Never come between unbreakable bonds and love in motion ❤❤.
Animals teaching humanity for humans.
That is so precious 😻💕💕
Such an unlikely duo wow. Right in the feels 🥹
Why y’all got me sobbing onna the toilet 🥺🤍 this was way to beautiful love has no limits ever !

They can be friends w a bond so deep they physically get ill when separated.... but some humans cant see the simplest things..... this made me happy.
Animals. What a gift.
I bet Oprah is a gift to her dogs, they live like royalty.

That was adorable!!
My two favourite animals together playing! A dashound and a lion! Absolutely gorgeous! ❤
I love seeing this video
I understand the concern and good on the caretakers for at least questioning if they were doing the right thing and wanting to keep the dog safe. It does seem as though the lion is incredibly gentle with that pupper and enjoys the company.
Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing.
This would make a great children's book.
It's kind of like The Lion and the Mouse by Aesop
What a charming family-friendly story.
What a great story Thank you!!!
As a lifelong dachshund owner it’s not surprising that 1 would befriend a lion. They’re very brave and behave bigger than they are. They believe they’re in charge. Most don’t know that they’re bred for hunting badgers, so brave and adventurous is in the DNA.
As a die-hard Doxie lover, this is a very cool video!
What a beautiful story. THANK YOU FOR YOUR POST GOD BLESS
We can learn so much from animals.
Bonedigger and Milo's Casual Walk in a Public Park. Now that is a book I want to read.

Good story, uplifting.
Truly beautiful to see Spirits combine , I hope we can all say hello to 3 miracles x x Big love x x

Animals are great
And when he saw him he suddenly had a snack!😂
It is lovely to see animals defy their natural instincts over an emotional connection.
That is unmistakably two best friends.. So sweet. That lion probably felt so lonely as a cub with his legs. The little dog gave him the companionship he needed to feel loved..
I like the bit where the AI machine doesn't notice the two other dogs and the guy with no legs.
And that the lion changed gender 🤣

The animals on people's plates are just as cognitively advanced and emotionally complex as the lion and dog in the video.

@Lugo1908 lol yes!

Honestly….this the most beautiful parts of life! God Bless them!
I'm sorry, did hear the lion's name is Bone Digger?
Awesome.
Bonedigger 🦁 lived at the G.W. Zoo, Joe Exotic, Tiger 🐅 King.
It's amazing how people on here can't tell that there are multiple Dachshunds in these videos - even totally different colors lol.
