    Mate I have to agree with you about Johns bike, I was lucky enough to meet him and see it run, the sound of that twin still resonates in my brain. I will also say as an Aussie John Britten, Burt Munro, Bruce McLaren, Graham McRae et al were outstanding world class leading kiwi engineer's who truly changed the world. What a pleasure seeing a HD gilde next to Brough #1🏆

      Couldn't agree more, those New Zealanders bat well above their own average. The day here will stick in my memory for a very long time. Thanks for watching.

      @@paulscrimgour4769 Begg was definitely a Motorsport Legend but probably more for his car 'Career' than his earlier biker riding. Although anyone who raced in early Isle of Mann races has my respect. Thanks for watching.

    Absolutely great museum and thanks for the tour! This rivals the”Wheels through Time” motorcycle museum here in the States in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. I stopped there last summer while on a 2,000 mile trip as one of my bucket list stops.

    If you get a chance, go to the car and truck museum just down the road. It's indoors and just as good as mtorcycle mecca, except its cars and trucks of all kinds.

      Hey John, yes mate we did get time and you are right, it was also fantastic. Even if you are not into cars and trucks it was still an amazing exhibition. Invercargill certainly bats above its weight with those two museums. Thanks for watching.

    Invercargill has some fantastic bikes!
    BUT NO. It's not the greatest motorcycle collection. That Mantra belongs to Sammy Miller, probably the greatest competitive Motorcyclist of all time. 500 + classic and rare bike at the Sammy Miller Museum , New Milton, England. With 90 year old Sammy still riding pretty much daily and restoring exhibits to concourse condition!
    + All his trophies from his 1400+ Wins .
    The National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham 800 classics on display. All British from 161 different manufacturer's!
    Apart from restoring bikes for the SM Museum Sammy does bikes for the Vintage Motorcycle Club and the National Museum.

    • @thatharleycouple
      @thatharleycouple  6 месяцев назад +1

      Well I will have to take your word for it my friend and put both on my bucket list. Sammy sounds like a true legend. Thanks for watching. Maybe CMM is the best in the Southern Hemisphere then. 😃

      @@thatharleycouple it's been acknowledged as the best in the Southern Hemisphere.
      If you don't know about Sammy Miller 😮 Raced Multiple disciplines, developed bikes for Honda, his frame geometry is still used by most brands of trials bikes today.
      1 Man 1400+ wins, no one else comes near.
      Check out the Sammy Miller Museum!!!!
