ABOUT THIS FILM
____________________
Kingfisher chicks
After 24 days of incubation, all seven kingfisher chicks hatched out over a 24-hour period spanning two days, April 29-30th.
Dad anxious to please
And as soon as the first chick emerges from its shell, its kingfisher dad is keen to provide. Watch as he brings in a tiny-sized fish - just right for such a small new beak - within hours of its hatching. However these minute creatures are not yet ready to swallow their first meals.
Male kingfisher indecisive
This male kingfishers also helps to brood the newly hatched chicks - but he can't quite decide if he ought to stay put and brood or go out and fetch more food andthen, when all of a sudden the urge to get more food overcomes him, he knocks a chick right over in his rush!
Male vs females
Kingfishers are solitary birds and normally only come together to raise chicks. Watch the female recoil when the male turns up with yet more food for their chicks!
Chicks develop
Kingfisher chicks hatch out blind and featherless. Subscribe to this playlist to be notified of my next film from this nest, in which they grow their first feathers.

I was thinking the same thing 🤣
Hahaha. I thought that too.
I think they are much more resilient than we imagine, although even the thought of holding one is terrifying.

OH MY GOSH ROBERT!! Great 👍 eaditing!! I love the shell "hats" on the babies! Dad bowled them over didn't he in his excitement. Mom's squeaks were adorable & Dad met the challenge. Excited to see the 6 grow up!! THANK you kind sir!!❤❤❤

Well done 👍 That takes a big of doing
Yes, He is lucky man
Great captured footage as usual. What a robust brood size both mom and dad look vibrant and beautiful. Dad’s gentle feeding seemingly with mom’s encouraging support.
The time and effort that you put into making and maintaining natural nesting sites and to the all over health of the wildlife you host is commendable. You are a fantastic naturalist, wildlife artist and filmographer, as well as great advocate for wildlife conservation. Sharing the beauty and inspiring others to wonder and see the beauty of the natural world around them.
❤
Oh these precious tee tiny babys
How nice to be able to look into the nest of the Kingfisher 😍. I can only view the Kingfisher from the outside. This makes the birds even more fascinating. I enjoyed the movie.
This is wonderful and fun to see how they develop some balance after a while.
Great parenthood from this Kingfisher-couple.❤

7 of them! Hairless and blind, they look so fragile.
Great footage.
Fantastic yet again ❤️👍
At first I thought mom had a b as d cough, but realized that's how the adults converse. Fascinating.
You made my day! Thanks for Sharing!
Simply fantastic from South Africa
Awesome!! Thank you!
Amazing photography as usual
They look so fragile😊
Beautiful, hope Robert can give us more update's on these to watch them develop and grow!
Certainly will
@@RobertEFuller I have a pair of blue tits nesting in the box I made at the end of the garden. I thought they were rearing because I saw them with bedding and the male feeds her on a branch, but they seem to have varnished and I hardly see them around anymore. I'm wondering if they are still interested or if they have been scared away by something but its not cats. It could be that the bird feeder is a bit too close for comfort but that's just speculating^
Bless ya bro! I'm subscribed & will always be watching your video's.. thanks
The way they shimmy out of the nest. 😂
wonderful to watch these little wonders =)
I especially like how the parents find extra tiny fish to feed the young.
I also like how one of the lttle ones has an eggshell hat for a little while =D
Bless them they are gorgeous, I love watching the kingfisher videos ,

Dearest Robert, that was an amazing experience to watch it. Please keep making videos. Love your work. ❤❤
So beautiful ✨
Dad be like, "Okay, how do I get this into the baby's mouth? Maybe if I rub the fish on its head, that'll do something."
You have to be tough to be a baby bird, flattened & knocked over by your enthusiastic parents!! Wonderful footage.
All those hungry mouths to feed! The parents are keeping busy. Such beautiful colors too.❤
Outstanding footage Robert!
Do they know which one hasn’t fed? 🤔️👍💕
I’m not sure about that but I noticed each chick seems to get fed fish during the day
Wow, this is priceless, omg the clarity of the picture is like gold. Love it!!! Thank you!!!
Great video! Wish it was longer. Thanks for posting!

Tough start to life. The parents are stunning! Could you imagine metallic color pencils on them? Thank you for the share! Beautiful! ♥️
The dad is so slow and cautious, and the mom barrels through like a bull.
Big bill energy 😅
So beautiful thank you sir
Makes me happy!
wow❤
Caring parents and cute babies 🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣🥰💟
They are so adorable! I love your videos.
How one of the adults just fades out of the tunnel at 2:10 and the other one follows with the dorkiest waddle at 2:19 had me laughing
Rob, how on earth do those newly hatched chicks 🐥 eat a whole fish 🐠? 🥰🇦🇺
To think dat d human baby can only drink milk/liquid for months after birth and slowly graduate to eating soft food for quite a long time... Yet these chicks eat solid insects, fish, lizards etc on day one!! Not even regurgitated food half digested by d parents. Guess dat's y humans generally live much longer than birds! 🤗
@@umikalthumabdulmajid5406 Humans are mammals. Birds are not.
Most if not all mammals rely on milk at birth. ( Just look at cats, dogs, cows... ).
Yes it’s amazing! The parents bring them the tiniest of fish to start off with then get larger as they grow
@@RobertEFuller I've been wondering about this for a long time with certain species
Wonderful! Today the chicks already left the nest in my garden.
This is the best wildlife video I've ever seen
Such a beautiful baby bird
Absolutely beautiful ❤a wonderful bird family
