My idea for the text enter is a middle key frame about two thirds between the begining and the final position. Make the text about 10% of its final size. Creates a little POP effect. Simple, but makes it... well.. pop
This inspired me to finally dive in to the All-Apps CC bundle rather than just soloing it with Premiere, the thought that subtitles can be that much easier to implement because of this software is a blessing. I now won't be so averse to starting a subtitled video thinking it's "hella work". Thanks so much Ian, having a blast with Ae for many other reasons too and I'll be sure to go back and check our your older tutorials for it too :D
Dope video! What if I already have the text? (I exported the captions of a 15 min video so that they come up on the timeline as text, but without any effects). Is there a way to the effect universally (maybe as a preset) to already existing text?

Man your tutorial is so goddamn useful, but I ran into a wall, I wanted to ask you if you knew a workaround, is there way to keyframe the text changing, as in, taking the "safe zone" of the animation and changing it how it works, like having word for word apear every something frames rather than having the entire sentence appear and then the animation finishes?
Is it possible to link this with an adobe-generated transcript? So 'generate transcript' > 'convert to captions' > then apply custom preset text graphic... So with a 10 minute video you could in theory auto generate this in 3 clicks?
