    This was great! My son got over his 'long covid' too by accepting it was a form of Mind Body Syndrome and doing the work he needed to do. I am so grateful that he has got his life back! Keep sharing these stories. People have a hard time believing that breathing exercises, meditation, brain training and movement can get get you out of it. Also, in his case an anti inflammatory diet helped as well!

      @@CharlieRascal oh yes! If I drove a car, i would get excorsted and short of breath. If I emptied the dish washer, the same. And if I tried to go for a run, i would colapse on the couch, with fatigue, shortness of breath etc and often it broke though maybe half an our or later after the run it self. And lasted for a coulple of days. Today i have been to the gym for an hour doing weigth lifting, yesterday dancing for 40 minutes, on manday the gym again. I live like before the damn virus. Finally. But the mindset is important, the take-it-easy-you-just-live-with-it. Dont fight it. Then slowly you adapt and walk side by side with it instead of fighting and loosing All the time. The loosing wears you down. Good Luck ❤️

    This interview has given me new life. I’ve had self-diagnosed CFS since 2020. I recovered and then a year later I’m back down again. Though this time it looks a little different. I had looked into TMS several times but couldn’t quite fit it for CFS since pain is not my issue. I read part of The Divided Mind a few days ago and started getting into the idea again. Then this woman in this interview responded to question I had in Nicole Sach’s group. She linked this video and it clicked for me. After the interview I said I am ok and always have been. I got up, took a shower,did some other things and barely any symptoms have shown up. I came to the conclusion I have anxiety that needs to be resolved and my body is fine. Wow! Thank you for posting this interview. I felt like I could finally relate and I removed myself from all “bad neighborhoods”. I felt so much lighter after I did.

    Oh ....wow...I've literally only watched 1/4 of this video so far and it's gotta be one of THE best success stories I've seen, all the insights Rachel had.
    I've got the label cfs but after finding out about tms earlier this year I 100% think long covid and cfs are all just the same thing really- tms.
    The stuff she was talking about with being told by others of "the spoon theory " and stuff like your mitochondria being effected and that your exercise intolerant etc is also 100% what you get told in the cfs world. It's literally so hard letting go of all these things you've been taught by professionals , they r basically limiting beliefs which create predictive coding and expectations of symptoms thru fear and fear of "crashing " just like you were both saying .
    Thank you Dan and Rachel soo much for this amazing interview 🦄🙌 I think this could help alot of ppl if they are open to the gold nuggets 😉

    • @creepybastard1988
      @creepybastard1988 2 года назад +1

      Get out of the cfs groups. Got long covid and in the cfs groups they are predictive coding a lot. 'Don't do that or you will feel worse!!" And ques what happens......we do things and we are feeling worse because it is 'expected'. Dan calls it 'nocebo'. If you expect bad things after activity your brain will say:'here you are...like YOU REQUESTED!'. I left the cfs groups and work on my fear only now by understanding that my symptons are perceived danger symptons.

      Thanks - please share far and wide. It’s only after recovery that I realised quite how much fear and the ME narrative had influenced me. There really is a way out. I’ve seen it again and again in the last few months.

      @@creepybastard1988 hey fin exactly ! I was literally only in cfs groups for maybe 3 weeks total over a year ago 🤣 pretty soon realized they were the worst thing I could b doing ! • @creepybastard1988
      @creepybastard1988 2 года назад +1

      @@meganobrien1019 Yeah! Exactly!! Sometimes i think they are creating nocebo's on purpose so that we ware so anxious that we will spend thousands of dollars to join their 'recovery programs'. They were using words like 'crash' and were saying that 'adjustment periods' were normal(!) after expanding activity'. I was so anxious that i had continues 'adjustment periods' that time. Since i left the groups i feel relieved. I have symptons but much better to handle because i know it is perceived danger symptons and i try fear less because it is the brain creating the symptons. In time the symptons will slowly fade away if you try to stay calm and don't pay too much attention to it. I wish u so much luck with your journey too!!

    • @rachelwhitfield
      @rachelwhitfield 2 года назад +1

      It’s not “just anxiety” but it is related I think. Pure fear is a better way of describing it. Not surprising after what we have been thro ! But I think then the panic about the symptoms exacerbates the symptoms. Getting out of fear was one of the best things I did xx

    All viruses can leave you with post viral fatigue. Usually 6weeks should be enough for bodies to recover. Had COVID, lost a stone in a week. No taste and smell three months. Started getting better about month later then I crashed. I now believe that it was TMS. Immune response definitely ramped up especially in my throat area. Sinus issues, doctor said long covid if 4months from start. Eventually went. Got COVID again in August, lost smell and taste changes 3months.

    @Pain Free You. Dan, a few weeks ago, the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine did a webinar on covid that included a presentation on Long Covid. The presenter said all viral illnesses have a subset of people who have the same kinds of symptoms such as fatigue, post exertional malaise, and other symptoms similar to what they had during the acute phase of the illness. He didn't address the possibility of Mind Body syndrome but it certainly stands to reason that a subset of people would be extremely frightened by their experience and get pulled into the belief system that they're stuck that way now, especially if they get into the bad neighborhoods that reinforce that destructive message.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Год назад

      Yep - some of the best universities are basically blind to the role of the brain and perceived danger in the creation and continuation of symptoms. Interesting about that presentation. Shame all they did was create more fear and not less.

    Great video thanks both-just watched on FB. I can relate to so much of what Rachel said and I have a similar experience although cfs not long covid although i believe they are the same thing ie:tms just a different trigger event x i suspect the tight throat thing is a very common anxiety symptom, globus hystericus is the old name but just muscle tension in the throat triggered by anxious thoughts, disappears if you give it little attention x i have also read nicola birds book and done the LP which helped when i had cfs before x thanks again, has reminded me to stay on track x very happy for you Rachel x
