As I've gotten older I've discovered the value of pacing myself and taking breaks. At the end of the day, I've accomplished more and I'm in a much better mood LOL. I make fewer mistakes than trying to push through to finish early. Great minds think alike Diff, I like watching you take a break and chatting a bit as much as watching you work.
Awesome engineering Div on that back seat solution! I'm in the middle of rust repair on my 1971 Super Beetle so this video, like so many of your videos, is very helpful and inspiring! I've chronicled the entire restoration on my channel if you ever have nothing better to do! Thanks again for the shout out to us sisters!
Greetings from Whidbey Island, Washington State, USA. To answer your question, I prefer the format you used in this video: show the problem, discuss the solution, and show the finished piece. Showing special operations and unique processes would also be interesting. The bottom line, though, is do what you want. It's your show. Your viewers get the benefit of your knowledge, skills, and out-of-the-box thinking. Thanks for letting us ride along.
I like your video style. You show just enough of how you do the things you do and not a lot of boring stuff. I agree with you that none of us wants to sit through hours of watching someone cut and weld metal. Keep doing your videos just the way you have done. Now hurry up and finish the Renobug.
Watching you from Alabama, USA! Never found it boring! I recently had two kidney stone surgeries and then open heart surgery for 3 bypasses! Getting better, but seems we were down about the same time! About to be 68 years old and watching you has helped me get the inspiration to get by at my projects which had taken a back seat while recovering, just as yours did! Anyway keep up the good work, keep the wife happy and Thanks from one old car guy to another! 😅
@gnrobertrobinson1190 howdie from Canada 🇨🇦 SK was listin to what ya say and lve died 3 times got projects to finish up and ya right don't give up are generations dieing off this yr we gotta not give up he's my 3rd favorite guy to watch from another part of the world and he's got ideas kids know adays can dream off were we know he's got

The frame is so simple looking . Kinda amazing.that storage behind the seat reminds me of my 61 bugs battery area. Great idea. The reno bug is going to be a little gem by the time your done. Thanks Diff!
Hey Diff, at least you're heading into warmer weather!😊 Here in Wisconsin we're going the other direction. This AM it was 26' F. Last week we had 6" of snow. The hardest part of any project is all the details at the end. The excitement has worn off, along with motivation. I've had to stop myself from starting a new project until the last one is done. Glad to see you back at it !😊
Good to see some progress on the Renobug! I feel that you have a good balance of showing all of the boring parts without dwelling on them too much. I like seeing all of the steeps involved even if they aren't all exciting, I never liked the shows where it's "do this and this exciting thing" and then suddenly you have a completed car, life doesn't work that way. Also, it's goes without question that watching endless hours of prep work is a no go.
Dif, IT IS A JOY TO WATCH YOU WORK. EVERTHING YOU TOUCH IS BETTER OFF BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOUR SKILLS. PS sorry to hear about the beans and toast for dinner, IT WILL ALL WORK OUT IN THE END! mike.
Thanks Div! I enjoy watching every step but I do appreciate some fast forwarding through the monotonous parts. I’m sure there are always new viewers who would appreciate seeing some of your talents and techniques in fabrication
I enjoy watching all steps of anything your fabricating Dif because your such a great craftsman whether you think so or not. You keep it real and present it in a way that is easy to follow and understand.
I personally enjoy the whole process of all the welding and grinding. It shows what skills you need to make something that might look straight forward is not what it seems from the onset. Just my opinion from another Afrikaans guy here in the good old SA.
I knew you were working on your projects ahead of mommas bug and it was going to bite you and that yellow Reo radiator shell was the beans and toast moment wasn't it ?
Keep up the great videos and work you do, this is the only channel I don't get bored with cause you can't whip off to the shop you have to compromise with what you have and that's what I like. Have alucka one my friend. Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺
Regarding your question about how much process do we want: I like it when you show 5-10 secs of each repetitious step, but fast-forwarding the entire process of some complicated, yet tedious work, then long form video with dialogue and diagrams when it makes sense. I really enjoy your videos and look forward to them every week. I've been watching you from the beginning 3 years ago.. Your video and editing was ok when you started, but has become exceptional as time went on. Thank you for sharing your work and knowledge with me. Regards from Ernie, in Pennsylvania, US

Again great ride, thanks for bringing us along - it is never boring. The prep for paint does wear thin quickly but I always liked the actual painting which I did for many years.
Don’t worry, Div. We will not be laughing at anything you do. As someone else commented, this was interesting as usual. Hope you don’t find anymore rust holes. A balmy 21.2F or -6C. Just had 17 inches of snow in 2 days. Winter is coming here in Manitoba, Canada.

I myself like watching how you do the repairs and finishing on your projects... All too often RUclips people tend to forget that most of the people who watch their videos are novices who don't know how to do what you are doing in the video... If you are making something, doing a repair, or even bodywork, they want to see and feel like they are hands on
Dif, No matter the time on the video I always watch from start to finish. I may skip past when I get it. Although seeing you work real time I enjoy very much. You do amazing work and you do an excellent job editing. I like when you speed the video and play a little tune while you go. I very much enjoyed. As for wifey, Give her my love. God Bless.

Thanks! A man has to have a thinking chair! 🙂

Good old European metal. I was visiting a panel beater friend who was working on my kombi. Showed me a USA cab he was working on. Compared to mine looked double the thickness.
That seems to be true, hey!
Dear Diff.
You asked and here's my answer: I too get bored if the same is shown over and over again. But I never get bored if it is shown in time lapse mode. I would have loved to see you doing the battery box etc. in time lapse. To me this is definitely better than missing something respectively only see the finished product. Of course sanding and some prep work can be done in an almost faster (formula one) type of time laps. But of course this is only my opinion respectively my personal kind of taste.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Thanks for the feedback brother

You are still my favorite builder on y tube. Real hot rods are built from nothing, not credit cards. Ive been chasing never ending rust holes lately, eventually you just need to call it well enough before you have ended up building the entire body from scratch.
I appreciate that, thanks for watching!
This is why I watch to see your work all of it😊
Hi Diff. I know what you mean when you say nothing can scare you. I am married to a woman from Northern Denmark, and I feel exactly the same as you.. Greetings from Misery Bay 😅😅

Love the progress! Keep them coming, you are my inspiration!
Always great to hear that I can provide some inspiration. Thanks
A good cup of coffee goes a long way my friend! I think that car would look good with the rat rod bob black with silver rubbed over it
Always a joy to watch your videos. And I learn things as you build. Wife is a lucky woman. If she doesn’t like it I will be glad to take it. 😅
Thank you, I appreciate you watching! 😄
