Hey everyone - realized after the video was up that Haze Bending is a once per turn effect. We just assumed all illusionist cards are busted - and this one was less busted than we thought. Still a super fun game though, hope you all enjoy!
Illusionist cards are busted, alright. Forced to destroy itself without effect, lose an entire turn when the opponent blocks with one card, provide one value per turn conditionally, absolutely INSANE!!!
I deeply respect that you actually did the potential math and doing a ton of extra editing just to explain the misplay and why it doesn't affect the outcome of the match. Any other channel would literally just say "woops misplay no big deal. lol" but you guys actually go into detail and illustrate why you guys think it's inconsequential. Misplays are gonna happen, but taking responsibility for the misplay and explaining to a new player or one that might not understand the gravity of the misplay is really important. ANOTHER reason to love this channel!
I like how Sam's accent drifted from gritty cockney to new yorker. LOVE your videos guys, kinda reminds me of Wil Wheatons Tabletop but for FaB, you guys do it so well
Love how you guys keep games with mistakes and take the time to walk through them. FaB is a complicated game. Seeing even upstanding individuals such as yourself make a few woupses here and there makes me feel a litter better about making my mistakes and learning from them. :) I know I say this almost every video but the set up and pay off this game was so strong! Building up the hype for Sam's first unpreventable arrow added tension to the CnC and made the pay off the next turn so much sweeter. And I can't remember the illusionist card name but continually hoping to draw the one that could move counters to safety and not getting there on a critical turn was heartbreaking because of the set up. Found myself cheering for both of you to win from start to finish!
Timestamp 20:11 "pitch an inner tree" pretty much all of your pronunciations of chi were spot on, this one time caught me off guard, and i laughed my ass off, there were many times i laughed throughout this video though. You guys always bring a fun time to the table. I really appreciate the content of Three Floating. The love for this game is dripping from your Flesh And Blood souls. I feel it! It's contagious! Much and love and success into the future.
I love these videos so much, but in the interest of clean play i just want to point out that Haze Bending’s ability is only once per turn (which didn’t really matter) and Death Touch can’t be pumped by Seek and Destroy as it’s not an arrow (this one may have mattered)
Yeah we caught the death touch but not the haze bending!! Aidan didn’t have enough block at the end and his deck was mostly chi so he was pretty dead, and Sam had a bolt n shot he could have used the seek on
Excellent video as ways, gentlemen! Don't feel bad on the Haze Bending misreading. I made the exact same mistake for my first few games with Enigma. The "Once per turn" never mattered when it was Spectras in OG Prism 😅
Riptide caught my interest early on, but the need for three Codex of Frailty put me off. He does look like fun and it's great that he can put up a proper fight against Enigma, maybe I'll try him one day when I have more money. Always hype for a new Three Floating, great video as always! 🎉 Edit: Would you guys say that Codex of Bloodrot would be a decent substitute til I can afford Codex of Frailty? Or would I be better off putting an extra pump in the deck instead?
I think since you already have Codex of Bloodrot’s load effect on your hero ability, I’d get another 0 cost pump in there! Should give you better numbers until you can get codex
I'm a Riptide main. We play Codex of Frailty for two main reasons: recycling and card draw. Other Codexes have the last part, but it's the ability to block with an arrow and then reuse it what makes Codex such a powerhouse in any hero that can run it. Just play some good arrows instead
@@ih8people Gotcha, I figured that about Codex of Frailty, I just can't justify $180 for the set at the moment. It does look like an amazing card for Assassins and Rangers that I'd want to get eventually if I go into Riptide.
RIP! FISH! TRAP! TIDE! Go my fat green man, go! P.S. This is mostly for Aidan. Go again doesn't matter if an attack is destroyed by ward effect as the attack does not resolve and thus skips the link step where go again is processed. You need to have action points from other sources to be able to continue the turn. P.P.S. This is for Sam. Technically, you _play_ the traps first, so Riptide's 1st ability only triggers when they _defend,_ which happens only when both players pass priority. In general, it is a good thing to verbally pass priority after playing or activating anything when playing vs any hero capable of instant-speed shenanigans :P
Another random comment. NEVER Collapsing Trap Zen when he has more than 4 cards in hand. Half of those are Crouching Tigers, so he will just exchange them for real cards
I believe the sacred art wouldnt transcend cus its one of the 3 modes. He picked 2 spectrals because he could only pick one. Fantastic fun game as always even through the misplays
so does this make Riptide the hard counter to Enigma? being able to build around D-reacts, ward popping through Grapnel, and Riptide 1 dmg trap triggers blowing up single wards seems like Enigma was going to have a difficult time all game to ever keep any wards online. Perhaps Enigma should have brought more attack actions against Riptide instead of relying too heavily on wards. A few Chimeras, Battlefront Bastions and Phantasmaclasms could have made It a closer game perhaps.
At 41:41, I'm pretty sure you can't respond to the Tarpit Trap before the Riptide ping triggers because both effects are placed on the stack at the same time. The Riptide player plays the trap, then holds priority to trigger Riptide, before passing priority to the Enigma. I don't think it's possible to fizzle the ping like that.
it is possible. their wording is a little bit off, but you could remove the counter when tarpit trap is still on the layer and not resolved yet. That way the result will remain the same in the video.
@@dihimono I disagree. Tarpit Trap is an event-based trigger, so the only way it would fizzle is if the event that would've triggered the trap was modified before it occurred (Rule 6.6.5b). However, the event that triggered Tarpit Trap occurred the moment it was played as a defending card (Rule 7.0.8a). There's no fizzling the triggered effect after that point. Likewise for Riptide's ability, it's triggered the moment Tarpit Trap is triggered. Riptide doesn't care if the trap resolves, just that it triggers.
@@icekane7435 In the scenario I mentioned, when the trap resolves, there's no more counter on the aura, which means it has no go again, how would tarpit trap trigger in that case?
You absolutely can. Sam skipped straight to resolving the trap off the stack instead of waiting for Aidan to pass priority after he _played_ the trap. Riptide's 1st ability only triggers when trap _defends,_ not when you play it.
Im noob just started out, can you show us some budgets deck, some of the cards are tuff to find or really really expansive for the little new player im😅
Hey everyone - realized after the video was up that Haze Bending is a once per turn effect. We just assumed all illusionist cards are busted - and this one was less busted than we thought. Still a super fun game though, hope you all enjoy!
Also, during the last turn Seek and Destroy is not supposed to effect the Death Touch. It's next arrow attack. Still great video though!

I actual love all the rules violations 😅 it makes it feel more "kitchen table"
Haze Bending is pretty strong, especially when you don't read the "Once per turn" part 😁
I knew that card seemed strong! 🤣🤣 Gonna make my future games into enigma a little easier - thanks for helping us out!
- Sam

He's from the city.
"Which city?"
Yes
Three Floating has some of the best editing on RUclips.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
That “he’s got a little board built” is going to be stuck in my head for a LONG time.

Life before death, radiant
that was unironically a really good wolf howl

Congratulations guys, your videos are incredible, as a Riptide fan I feel excited about this hero's future.🏹
Love the south African accent used for riptide. Really been working on those voices.
I always imagined Riptide sounding like the Hitcher from the Mighty Boosh. Same mannerisms too.
Wsa planning on building an Enigma deck next, so this episode is PERFECT! Lets Go lads! Still loving your content as always! :)
Great video! Interesting to see how strong Riptide is into Enigma!
50:36 Wait, Death Touch isn't an arrow attack, right?
Yeah should have been 6.
Love the work y'all do, keep it up!
Brute gang approves of fighting illusionist.
BRUTE LIFE
Just FYI, Seek and Destroy only works on arrow, so not on Death Touch.
When damages can't be prevented, all the spectral Shield disapears and the hero takes the 7 damages ? That's realy strong !
The joy of seeing new episode of fight nite is so hard to explain
HOLY DHIT I WAS WAITING FOR A NEW EPISODE

Around 31:00 how does riptide premed another shot if he used his action on searing shot?

I want more Riptide role play. Cosplay when?
Another random comment. NEVER Collapsing Trap Zen when he has more than 4 cards in hand. Half of those are Crouching Tigers, so he will just exchange them for real cards
Aidan, don't forget to de-Chi! haha
PLENTY of de-Chi’ing happened at the end of this game (pretty much every card left in my deck lol) -Aidan
Dang. When did Jason Statham grow a luscious head of hair??? 🥵
@50:40 Seek and Destroy only buffs arrow attacks
It definitely didnt matter, but given you didnt play a blue on that last turn I dont think you could create two shields and transcend for another
Aidan need to play zen the next video in a favored matchup, two loses in a row is so shame!
I have been seated into two uphill battles, that’s for sure hahaha -Aidan
I believe the sacred art wouldnt transcend cus its one of the 3 modes. He picked 2 spectrals because he could only pick one.

Yep - Sam talks about it at the end of the game.

How do spectral shields smell tho
What is the dice that they use?
A new video, a happy me!

Thareeeeeeee Fhaloaaaatiiiiiiiiiing!
Does Sam always pick his hero after Aidan so he can counter? 😂👀
Aidan wanted to play enigma!! There was no dishonesty afoot!!
