    You are so sweet :). I think, integrating from vegan, keto, carnivore back TCM and ayurveda principles as western woman takes a lot of work. But it is like Feng Shui, needed for my mental health in balance.
    I ate no milk because of all the breast cancer causations, but goats milk bcm 7 free is oure dense amino acids, anti inflammation and gives qi, yin and nourishment. My skin looks younger like i aged 4 years backwards with 27.
    From a science standpoint, i eat meat and organs, sushi and eggs as well. I just think we are omnivores. No coffee, nicotine or alcohol that interferes.
    Thanks for your lovely insights, i as pitta felt the cooling effect of milk like any anger, heat and redness puffs away (bio goat joghurt high omega 3, sugar free, bcm 7 free). Red eyes and inflammation..the 6:00 + tip is good, never heard of that. Problem is only..its better to eat regional in germany. How do they measured that a food works like that in the body? And i tried coconut water, but it tastes just really bad, no pleasure

      @Sonia, my pleasure! Please take very good care! I think heatwaves will only become more common. Being born and raised in Malaysia (a tropical country), and as a Chinese Medicine practitioner, I am grateful and happy to hear what I shared in this video has given you some new ideas on how to cool down with food. Keep cool and stay safe! 😊

    Great video, Shirley! perfect timing as summer nears. Are split mung beans cooling as well? I prefer split mung beans with lily bulb dessert soup.

    • @ChineseHerbalPantry
      @ChineseHerbalPantry  2 года назад +1

      HI @bizkitbox, so sorry for my late reply. I just saw your question here. Split mung bean is still cooling but its 'cooling' function is less without the skin (hull).

      @thecelestialhealer, thanks for your kind words! You can just start with you have! Chinese barley and chrysanthemum flowers should be easy to find in Chinese groceries. Otherwise, start with mint and green tea is a good start too. Take care during hot days!

    Thank you! I just subscribed and am really enjoying your thorough videos! What do you recommend for dry heat? We live in the desert and my 9 year old daughter daughter seems to get bloody noses during the drier seasons .

    • @ChineseHerbalPantry
      @ChineseHerbalPantry  Год назад +2

      Hi @Isabella, thank you for subscribing my channel and I am so happy to hear you are really enjoying the videos here 😊 Good question about the dry heat. For dry heat, it is whether we find a herb that can clear heat and at the same time has 'moistening' function or can replenish fluid, such as Asian pear and Lily bulb. Or adding a 'Yin tonic' to the mixture of the herbal tea/soup will help too. Having said that, please note that the above suggestions are only for adults who are generally healthy but struggle with dry heat. For children with bloody noses, I would recommend to check with Western medicine doctor to rule out any other underlying causes. If all are good, then can look for a Chinese Medicine practitioner locally to give a more personalised care. I can't give any recommendation here. Children's condition may change rapidly and may have many other causes, your daughter will need proper care. One simple tip is, if you haven't already, is to have a humidifier at home. This may at least help a little bit.

    Is ginger good in summer ?

    • @ChineseHerbalPantry
      @ChineseHerbalPantry  2 года назад +2

      Hi @Hind there is no problem to take ginger in summer. There is no such thing as good or bad of a particular food or totally to avoid some foods or take a lot (never overconsume anything even if it is good). In fact, there is a school of thought thinks ginger is good in summer. Most importantly, it is to find the balance and listen to what your body tells you. I won't go into the explanation here, it is too complicated to explain. Moderation is the key too and everyone is different and responds to food differently.

    Can i give it with my patient for she drinks less water sometime i add honey on it just for her to drink. So coconut water is good for her.

    • @ChineseHerbalPantry
      @ChineseHerbalPantry  2 года назад

      @Bhambie, for a 96 yo, sometimes coconut water is too cooling. Small amount is fine but don't overgiving it to her. Please watch the section where I talked about precautions for coconut water, especially not good with those with chronic kidney disease or take ACE inhibitors medication. If you are unsure, please check with her doctor. Add some amount of honey is a good idea too!
