Ola! You have an international audience well done for an excellent tutorial. Is it possible to always state what season it is when you do a video? Months of the year don't help as we are potentially in different hemispheres
For the trunk to have developed so thick the thyme must have been growing for some time and yet it was still very short in height. What was the age of that thyme?
Its a bit of a lucky shot - you can never really see into the plant before you start pruning. But whatever you find, work with it and create something nice!
I'd like to know how to get to a plant like that. Even though small in the pot, it has really thick branches comparing with the ones you can get here. Anyone from Ireland knowing a nursery where you could get something with that quality?
Why are you putting it straight into a Bonsais pot? Im new to bonsai and I thought you put it much later in abonsai pot so It can grow much faster and stronger into the desired shape. But I think it already Looks really good
If we'd want the branches to thicken we would indeed keep it in a larger pot. But this tree mostly needs refining so we decided to place it into a medium sized pot (perhaps the next pot will be shallower than this one).
Definitely isnt muzak but every other YT channel is doing it and theyve been doing it for 15 years on this channel. Your opinion doesnt hold that much sway.
@@brent829 well that's a different matter, he's done the best he could with what he was working with. But the way you said it made it sound like he sucked at what he did
Trying different herbs as bonsai has always intrigued me. I love the idea of pruning my tree and using the cuttings for culinary purposes
Exactly!!
"inspiration 💫😁 move me brightly...". Great video man!
Awesome! Thank you!
Lovly idea to use thyme and herbs in general, definitely getting myself a thyme to style 😅
It will be fun to see an update on this one later!

Loved this something very different and looked great at the end
Thanks so much!
It’s a really beautiful tree! I like it Oscar!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very Nice! Thyme also flowers, really curious what this little tree will look like in full flower. I have my own thyme bonsai styled as a willow.
I thought this was a Hokkaido or seiju elm when I first glanced at it. I liked and subscribed... Nice job dude
Awesome, thank you!
It turned out really great!
Thanks! Work in progress though :)
Looks really lovely
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for paving the way for all us new you tubers. You have been doing this for like 14 years?
You mean our youtube channel? Or bonsaiempire? Bonsai Empire started in 2000.
Hmm I was going to choose juniper for my first bonsai, but this looks easier
Beautiful.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great content so cool also want to try
You should! :)
Ain’t nobody got thyme for that
lol :)
My favorite meme! ☺️
Oh hey, I have no idea how to bonsai but I started doing this with a thyme! I have too many cuttings.
It looks brilliant!
May I ask you that when do you start fertilizing it and how? Liquid or solid fertilizer?
Solid and throughout the growing season, so we just started!
@@bonsaiempire Thank you! 🙂
Ha! Thymeleaps!
I think Im kinda do that to my new thyme 🤔
For the trunk to have developed so thick the thyme must have been growing for some time and yet it was still very short in height. What was the age of that thyme?
Its a standard plant from the supermarket - I'd be surprised if its older than 2 or 3 years.
looks nice 👍
Thanks! Its a work in progress - but so far so good!
Beautiful, I should try this! Is it common to find a Thyme in a garden center with the branches so thick?
Thank you
This is a very standard thyme plant, branches were 1 or 2mm thick so still easy to bend. Try it out!
@@bonsaiempire Alright, I will. Thank you!
I'm pretty sure I can find the thyme to try this out!
Lol :) Keep m coming ;)
@@bonsaiempire Sure My thyming is on point!
I have never seen a thyme plant with such a trunk of a base

This was a standard plant from the garden center, to be grown in a pot or garden.
thymelapse haha creative
Thyme will tell :P
Bravo pour votre vidéo

Hi Titi! Lots of questions haha - would you mind posting on our forum at www.bonsaiempire.com/forum so we can help you there?

@@bonsaiempire ok thanks for the answer
neat❤ I don't use akadama as its cost here is very restrictive
What’s a cost friendly alternative?
@@andytlwy i just use lava an pumice. here akadema costs 70% for a 10lb bag.. that would be gone on 3 plants
Beginner here: why remove the old soil completely and not just enough to fit into the new bonsai pot?
We prefer to use a bonsai substrate (inorganic) which is far better draining. Check out our videos about bonsai soil for more info!
saya suka karya anda..
👍👌🙂
Thanks Bruce, you never miss a video do you? :)
Loose the elevator music. You have good content. You don't need muzak to distract the viewer from what you are saying and doing.
