  • Marriage tips from Mufti Ismail Menk (Part 1)
    "The best of you are those who are best to their wives" (Hadith)
    The audio in the video is a small portion of an old program Mufti Ismail Menk did on the topic of ‘The social conduct of a Muslim'. The whole program is over 5 hours long.
    If you would like to find the whole program then you can do so in the following ways -
    WEBLINK - Click on the following weblink and go through the list of tracks until you get to the program 'Social Conduct' (part 1 to 7). www.muslimcentr...
    IPHONE PODCAST - If you're an iPhone user you can get the program for free by clicking on the 'Podcast icon' on your iPhone and then searching for 'Mufti Menk social conduct'.
    IPHONE APP - Download a application from the App Store called 'Official Mufti Ismail Menk' by Nathmie Slamang. Open the app and scroll down until you get to the 'Social Conduct' program parts.
    ANDROID APP - I'm not an android user but I believe there is also a similar android application. This can probably be found by searching in the play store for 'Official Mufti Ismail Menk' or 'Muslim Central Audio'.
    Please Note: The rights of the wife and the rights of the husband can be found within the track 'Social Conduct Part 2'. You may want to listen to all 7 parts. I found the program to be very beneficial. It also deals with other topics such as the rights of Muslims, neighbours, parents, children, widows etc.

    Yes it is absolutely right, we should respect our woman, both have equal rights, if something happening wrong between you do not scream at her, make her understand politely, She'll understand, Respect others you'll be respected

    what can a wife do if her husband is disrespecting her? accusing her of adultery, saying he divorced her during anger or when he isn't anger? where the relationship is unhealthy, no trust, & honesty.

    • @KweKanata
      @KweKanata 7 лет назад +7

      Warson Ali he cannot accuse you of adultery unless he has witnesses that they caught you in the act of doing it. If he does he must be beaten for lying. If he just says "You're divorced " as a joke it counts as a real statement of divorce , so it counts if he says it in anger as well and sister, if he has done that 3 times you are irrevocably divorced and must leave him or you are living in haram with him. A man cannot toy with a woman's emotions in Islam and string her along. Study your Islam my sisters and know your rights because it's in men's nature to hide them from you to have control over you.

      Warson Ali Never marry under islamic law. It's a joke. Always marry under your country's general marriage law. You'll have some rights.

      That is your version of the story, we probably should hear from them. I have seen many women who are nothing but abusers. They are ungrateful to Allah nor to the husband.

      The one who accuses someone of adultery without 4 eyewitnesses is to be punished, if I'm not wrong.
      If he says he divorces you, you are divorce and can't live with him.
      The best advice from me would be to wait for a while, seek marriage counseling and then a divorce if he keeps doing that.

    im sorry that that is the way you understood the message the mufti was presenting. i think that years back i would had came with the same opinion . but we must remember that Allah has placed the man a certain degree above the woman and he is responsible for her, which means he will have to answer to Allah about her. example that made me understand i hope it will be excepted; when i first was married also 26 yrs ago mashallah my husband use to ask me constantly did you make salah. he ask me this question so much on a daily basis i eventually became annoyed with him, and i told him look i made salah before i met you and i still make salah why to you keep asking me? he said it is not that i doubt you i only ask you because Allah will ask me. we are muslims and we should give the best islamic advice we can. our comments can lead others astray lets be care as what we write here is also written in our books of deeds . i hope what i said was beneficial forgive me if it was not

    Hitting a woman is NOT AN EFFECTIVE METHOD TO SOLVE A PROBLEM - EVER !!!
    Even if she stops doing whatever it was which resulted in the beating, she will end up HATING her husband and their relationship will progressively deteriorate until it is unsalvageable.

    • @asmaazeem3941

      there is a difference between tapping and beating

    • @ahmadnoorm.s5521
      @ahmadnoorm.s5521 8 лет назад +1

      'Hitting' in this instance actually means ' AS THOUGH hitting GENTLY with a piece of siwak...not hitting the face and that 'hitting' must not result to any bruise or injuries to her. Siwak is a small and very lightweight fragrance twig..used as a toothbrush in ancient times.Now, try hitting yourself gently... using a baby toothbrush...while ensuring no bruises and injuries to yourself in the process.How much hurt and hatred will that caused you ?..Hardly any..lol.. And thats why when non-muslims said that Islam promotes wife beating/battery...we know that they are totally clueless about what this 'beating' actually means. Muslim men who do beat up their wives violently are considered BAD Muslims. They are basically violent men..and this group of violent men certainly exist in ALL religions....not just Islam.

    I am very dissapointed in this video , especially since I normally admire how mufti menk supports women. I don't want to say this video is bad or wrong, it is correct however this is more like the rights of the husband, there are other things he could have mentioned for example how a man should treat his woman eg- how he is obligated to be romantic and express his feelings and how he must always make her a priority and give her time and attention so that she can love him more in return.

      the Muslim man needs to reframe and check his brain out, yeah the man is the head of household does that give him the right to molest and mistreat his wife and kids when he feels like it. my God Lord Jesus Christ taught me to love and how to treat people my God don't tell me to kill the Infidel to judge the people for what they do. the woman has a right to express herself, the woman has the right to have education and the right to learn to survive in this world. a Muslim woman has the right to protect herself. Muhammad is not a God , he is a man that wrote a book and suria law is blind.
      why does a woman always the accused of adultery? when a woman forced to be raped why does she have to be stoned to death what happened to the guy that did it, does he get punishe? does he get stoned to death? that's just get his head blown off with a gun.

    • @bb5806
      @bb5806 6 лет назад +5

      Jose able Puentes if a woman is raped, there is no punishment for her, only for the man. If adultry is committed, then both man and woman get stoned to death (if they are married). If they are not married then it's 100 lashes. This may seem harsh but the rulings behind a person getting punished is that there has to be four witnesses to the act, now tell me, is there ever any witnesses when such an act is committed? See, even this is a mercy from our lord. As for women, Islam has liberated us, it is only when out prophet Muhammad (saw) came, did we women get rights. He is not a god, he is a prophet, there can only be one god and that is Allah. Our prophet always stuck up for women, always emphasised for men to be kind to us. A husband does not have the right to mistreat his wife or kids. A lot of misconceptions is that he is superior than the wife, that is incorrect, his dominance over his wife is only because he is the caretaker. We are a trust given to him by Allah, he has to treat women right, for if he doesn't, then Allah is all seeing and will do justice for the ill treated women. If you have any misunderstandings, please let me know, I will gladly help you understand

    I've listened to the rights of the man and now I'm listening to the rights of the women and both seem to be directed to correcting the women. It is just saying for men to not yell ,swear or beat them when they anger you. But the actual change of behavior is only the women's. Women must be patient , women must do all the emotional work. I'm Native American and women choose the leaders of the people we are traditionally respected as the silent leaders . I cannot believe that Islam is one sided. Where are the women scholars to teach from a women's view point? Can someone let me know of any?

      +KweKanata Im glad Im not the only one noticing that : ) This religion/way of life from the 7th century hardly addresses the rights,needs and resposibilities of 21st century western women it is at it's very best extremely offensive.WOMEN have risen !! Have their own education,jobs,money,rights by REAL laws more equal than your male oriented Sharia law and Quran.Women dont need an overseer ??All this smells very much like oppression, sounds like slavery to me.Realising all those Male rights over me has just prompted me to tell my Muslim man that I will NEVER marry him : ) he can find that half of his deen somewhere else maybe a muslima : ) I dont like a leash around my neck.You talk about women as if they were children as if they need an overseer or keeper..not here in the west !! I have taken care of me and my child by myself and have done very well for myself and know many women to do the same,a man will NEVER be my overseer telling me when to breathe,were to go and who to talk to.Muslim man seem to be insecure jealous,controlling (if they have to tell her what to do) chauvenistic,spineless,oppressing....she can or should not refuse sex ?? sounds like slave to me.If he cheats it may be her fault ? Dont take resposibility fortheir actions.YOUR "religion absolutely SUCKS...and I am reading this quran but it leaves me only angry

      +Anita Parks Yes in the Western Hemisphere , women have all those rights. Absolutely, and it is our culture to be independent. Also, as women, we ridicule women who stay in non-functional and abusive relationships. ( Which I believe is so wrong because we are blaming the wrong person and also feeding other diseases such as the rape culture within our society, in any culture no one group of people should be allowed to oppress another in any way) Any culture has the good and the bad. But being complicit in it is what is wrong . We as women, need to encourage and support all the weaker in society . To educate ourselves to be able to educate others is the goal as women. I'm a Muslim by choice and I have seen both sides of the coin. I'm not suggesting women to rise up and stand on the necks of men but to educate ourselves in the truth. Islam is about equitable behaviour and the fact that this video doesn't show this is what I am questioning. The fact that this is not seen is the true probl

    Wow, you are really insulting! I've been a Muslim for 32 years (alhumdulilah) and I have studied Qur'an and Sharia most of those years. Of all those years,the majority of works are written by men from a man's perspective and based on a mans perception of only a mans opinion of their translation. We need to look at it from a woman's point of view. Do not insult my Nationality, and justify your opinion by using "karma" this does not exhibit in Islam. You are known by your deeds, not Karma. Know your battle ground before you start a fight, little sister.

    most women love to know about these things in Islam which talk about women's rights and duties of a husband and use it like a weapon if an argument breaks out ..however, if a husband starts talking about the duties of a wife towards her husband, they will immediately keep Islam aside and become strongest advocates of feminism ... tell her that Allah has made you "hakim" on her and tell her that its her duty to be obedient and respectful to you, she will immediately start talking about equality and freedom and what not ..Islam will be flushed down the drain in no time

I am aware that friendships between males and females are forbidden in Islam. I don't know if he is aware. He says they are 'just friends' but he has had 45-minute conversations over the phone before. And they speak in Arabic, which I can't understand much. Am I wrong to get upset about this and to ask him not to talk to her again?

Just three things basic needs food, clothes and house nothing else except even by your own wishes, can not donate to your wishes... She should not take expensive gifts, do not take more comfort than necessary, shuold not be donate zakat on her jwellery to husband's money.... Husband's money should not be spent on her parents and siblings..... Should not even go with husband's money.... The tour dream should not go... Here is the SHARI'AH.....
    Just remember the shari'ah law in the case of husband's parents....???
