Punished Props Academy Hey Bill I was wondering other then Catspaw dagger would you ever want to build Longclaw or Heartsbane or Ice from Game of Thrones in the same way you built Catspaw dagger?
This looks so awesome I'm already planning to make my own, but there are a few things missing from the parts list I was hoping you could clarify. The buttons and switches you used are different than those listed by Adafruit, and particularly since you designed the CAD model around the push button I want to be sure to get the right one. Could those items unique to this build possibly be added to the parts list?

Asokas lightsabers from the clone wars is my fav lightsaber love how simple and clean they look
My fave is also from Clone Wars, but it's the Wookie Padiwan's from the episode where several padawans were making their sabers. Simple lines, carved wood grips. Always wanted to make that one. Can't recall what episode that was.

I have a printed one based on a Saberforge order and even at 50% infill, the polycarbonate blade I'm using has enough weight at the end to tear the thing apart.

The lightsaber can't just be handed down(though it technically could) but the lightsaber is assembled by the force sensitive person, as the force guides them in making it for their standards. Anakin made the lightsaber. And the reason he didn't just keep the green one from Attack of the Clones is that same reason, it wasn't his. I will say, that Lightsaber blew up, so this one might actually be Rey's, if she actually made it. It might just be repaired(With Disney magic, because that makes sense, apparently) Than it's still Anakin's.

@@SaitoGray both what are overpriced? Adafruits solution is massive and low quality. There is a whole community of creators and companies specifically making lightsaber electronics for all price ranges that are tiny and much higher quality.
Could you direct me to one of these companies that makes the electronic do dads that make the lights & noises work please.
I'm actually looking for something to make the thermol detonator make the sound & a light flash. Any ideas ?

I love this! My favorite is Luke’s from ANH, mainly because of the origin, coming from a Graflex 3 Cell Flash. Also the ANH lightsaber is the only one to have the activation switch on the opposite side of the bunny ears.

My favorite in universe hilt is Kanan's. The detachable emitter is a really cool idea to me. My absolute favorite is the one I made with ASP parts from saberforge because it's uniquely mine.

Sophy is truly my all-time favorite guest at Punished Props.
Each trilogy the lightsaber switches its ignition switch, when Anakin used it, it was the main button on the front (used to be red) and Luke used the box in the middle, and now Rey uses the one that's high and on the back protruding.
I thought I was the only one that noticed

It’ is and is not in the story no but in real life they just his again and changed a few parts around You can specially towels because in the original the lightsaber was supposed to be blue but then they changed it to Green

Someone finally recognizes that it wasn't just a lightsaber Obi-Wan found in the dump and gave to Luke, it was Anakin's. Everybody ignores the fact that it was Anakin's saber, they just pretend it was Luke's and then it was Rey's. I know this video is over a year old but I am so glad to see it.
Ummm everyone knows it was anakins. Obi-wan literally says that it was Luke’s “fathers light saber” when he gives it to Luke in the first movie
The leather looks really good on the lightsaber. This is way out of my league but it's just fun and relaxing to watch and it's so cool with the lights and all.

The way everyone classifies lightsabers is lukes or anakins or darth mauls, so even if someone else is in possesion of it people still say its lukes or obi wans, so it should apply here, she has anakins lightsaber. regardless she has her own
He calls it Rey's lightsaber because it has different customizations as compared to anikin's. Its the same light saber with slight differences in design

"I hear the lightsaber screaming in pain!" Yeah, it and me. You know, with decorative leather like that, you really only need to scratch the points of most wear. In this case, you could have gotten away with only scratching where the leather ends meet since the rest of the edges look mostly held by tension. With the addition of superglue, it would have held even over the paint. Less scraping, less cringing, and less work. Maybe scratches at the outside corners, too.
But that's my armchair quarterback opinion since, you know... you made it and I didn't so, technically, your expertise far outweighs my own.
I definitely prefer to make things more secure, but that's just my personal preference as a maker :)

I think the 2 brass pins in the side ( 23:25 ) are the remote trigger input for the flash gun the original Luke sabre was made from.

Wow! What a nice vid making these awesome lightsabers. Wish I had the knowledge and skills making those beauties. I once owned a Master Replicas Mace Windu lightsaber. I thought it was awesome because of the purple color, but sold it to someone who collected all MR sabers, so it got a good home. Really like the way the two of you connect in this special vid, making these fantastic lightsabers!

Hi Joel and gang loving your videos. At about 7 minutes you said about the hole sagging, i was watching 3d printing nerd and he said about making a teardrop shape at the top so it gives you more support. hope that helps.

@@TheXxPSYCHO the female prop maker built a replica of lukes. The male prop maker built a more recent version used by Rey in the rise of Skywalker.
