I visited Romania last year, just before the Xmas. Went high in the mountains, stayed at remote hotel 1000m+ above the sea level. Am born in Europe, seen a lot of different countries but Romania blew me away. I would love to live there in the rural areas. F the civilization lol. First thing I really did like is very strong bonds to your traditions and also how people are tied to each other.. at least my romanian friend says that mountainers are different than those city people :) Don't know if it's true. Much love to Romania!

Urbanization only happened in Romania in the last 50 years, so post people have a countryside home or at least grandparents that had one. This kind of low tech was normal 2 generations ago. A lot of foreigners come to Romania to experience this. But it's not so interesting from a Romanian perspective.
unfortunately a lot of Romanians don't really know the roots because of growing up in the cities. I'm born and raised in NYC but i have family from poor village in Romania which i spent time in so I've experienced the best of both worlds, one of the richest cities in the world and country side living off land and from my personal experience, I rather live off the land in Romania and I will leave new york for good one day
If I weren't married with kids I would move in with this guy tomorrow. Jut my type of person and I also noticed the art embedded in his home. Good luck with everything!
Amazing video, amazing family. I didn't knew about them and I am from Romania. As a romanian, I would never eat mushrooms handpicked from the forest(my mother collect them every year). We always heard stories about people who were handpicking mushrooms all their life and they died due to mushroom poisoning. You can have a small piece of a bad one and it's fatal. My mother loves them, the other part of the family don't touch them

There are traditional methods that help finding out if the mushrooms are poisoned or not. I suppose your mother is using them.
