it can absolutely backfire. the opposite is true though, if she has to ask you for it she really wants it, so why not just let that be the case since it feels awesome? (PSA: don't leave your face in when you're sending risky texts, and if someone tries to blackmail you with said pics anyway, get out in front of it/deny and don't give them any more material to use against you. alternately, just laugh in their face and say 'people don't slut-shame anymore and revenge porn is illegal' and see if they don't give up)

Yeah, psychopathic (sociopathic, antisocial, histrionic, bipolar, etc.) traits are possibly the worst personality type possible. These folks are often brilliant, but without a whole lot of healthy emotional role models as kids, and continuing love throughout life, they become robotic and hyper-focused on achievement in whatever field they can get into. Often it's business or politics or medicine or sports or acting, but obviously it can be nearly anything that requires a lot of effort and cleverness that offers personal rewards/accolades/positive-attention.

Psychopaths can be amazing people, doing wonderful things for the world, because they are very clever and focused on achievement, but without a whole lot of love and nurturing and healthy emotional relationships, they are also the most dangerous types.
Society would do well to ensure far better health care for kids, including parental coaching and caring mentors both in schools and in normal life.

So, wait...the lady in the last story Catfishes her because her mom wouldn't let a random new girl, her mom, and a 5 year old move into her house?!?! If she knew the girl lived with her mom what made her think bringing her entire family without permission of the mom was okay?!?!?!
What's worse to me is the age gap. The black woman was 19 at the time and the other lady was 24 with a kid and her mom in tow. If anybody was going to take anyone in it should have been the other way around😅 I think she got mad that once the mom told them they had to leave the other girl didn't leave her family for them. And to be clear I don't think the age gap is inappropriate, I just would expect more stability from a 24 year old than the 19 year old. Her expectations were outlandish.

@@ShyAnn291 True! At 23 me and my husband moved back into my mom's house with our first son. We did good for two years but we weren't prepared for even one "rainy day" situation. Not my proudest moment but, I'm blessed that my mother welcomed us all into her home. My point is not many mom's are willing to do that, my mom is the exception to the majority of other moms that would have said "If you want to shack up get your own place"

Aliix or whatever his (her?) name was did that the second time around. Though that was more of a grooming situation, which is even scarier. Catfishing is technically harmless because it's the "victims" who sort of do it to themselves, getting all overly attached to people they honestly don't know at all, and imagining some sort of fairy tale ending to it all. It's not their "fault" because they obviously don't know any better, but they're still the ones who choose to ignore the reality of the situation, and often even get angry when friends and family question the relationship.
Ideally, we'd teach kids about this stuff long before they ever get their own phones or have unsupervised access to the internet. But second best is schools and parents talking to their teenagers about this stuff along with sex-ed stuff.

Psychopathic personality types do have feelings, and it's important to realize that. What causes problems is when they are children and never have emotionally healthy parents and other caretakers around them to model for them how to effectively express their emotions. They also struggle to understand other's emotions instinctively (similar to ASD types), which is why they have to work so hard to sympathize with others. But they can, with lots of love and care, grow up to be healthy, happy people who are generally good in relationships. But they do have to work a lot harder than those of us with more emotionally open personalities.
Most of these folks who catfish, though not all, really struggle with either poor role models as kids, or are/were bullied for being "different" in some way. It's not an "excuse" but can help to understand why they do what they do, and help find better options for them so that they can have healthier relationships. Everyone needs to be loved, and it's not always easy.
So if you do have a naturally empathetic personality, you might be able to help those who don't find ways to get the healthy love they need from someone out there. Or at least you can let them know that they are human beings and not monsters, like so many might have told them before.

There are many folks in non-exclusive relationships. In fact, it's quite common. And not just polyamorous folks, but normal folks who just "date", even long term, while being open to dating others. If you're in a relationship that doesn't have to stop you from dating others. Some think it's good, others hate the idea. Just be honest about it with everyone upfront, and it'll be good. Most folks run into problems when they are too scared to be honest about what they want.

Well, they're probably not making any shows right now, given the actors and writers strike in Hollywood that's been going on for a while. But I also heard something about contract negotiations for this show, as MTV was being sort of annoying. It's also possible that it's harder to get honest people these days, due to the popularity of the show, and how many folks are willing to try to scam them just to be on tv, which has happened multiple times so far.
