Just got Lightroom 2 days ago & your video helped me out alot. You explain everything throughly & I already feel like I have a good grasp on editing my photos. Thank you!
This was the best Lightroom video tutorial I've seen. I am a beginner photographer and you helped me immensely. I watched several videos back when I was trying to edit my Point&Shoot camera and those came out pretty good, but after watching your video and now that I have a DSL Canon, they look immaculate and I could have never gotten them like that from the other videos. I was wanting to post a side-by-side before and after picture here for you but it won't let me. Kudos to you sir, and thank you very much.
So happy to hear that you enjoyed this video, Michael! Thanks for all of your support on this channel - and I'll certainly see what I can do about that tone curve tutorial!
First Video I've seen where they were not pushing split toning in my face...refreshing. I did not think to use radial tool for vignette so thanks for that. I liked your overall edit, mostly realistic with a touch of creativity...thanks.
Great tutorial, to the point. Love your channel. Amazing on camera personality. Camera focus was an insane boost to the video, some people use jump-shots, your camera did the job for you. Epic. Didn't punch the Sub button this fast in a long time. Cheerz!
Very nice video! I have done mostly video editing with davinci resolve. So a lot of these concepts are familiar but I don't know how to use Lightroom. This was a great quick start guide!
Thank you very much for making this video! I'm not completely new to Lightroom, but I am still on the newer side of things, so while I knew about how to use some of these tools, I certainly didn't know all of them, and I'm very excited to give them a try! Thank you for showing your process! I would love to see even more videos like this in the future. :D
i want to develope some preset finishing filters for my instagram account so it has a really set theme. Do you do a video on this? so far your demo has been the best!
Hi! I find your video very helpful, so thanks a bunch! I have a question regarding exporting. I shot my pictures in RAW and I did some editing using Lightroom in my laptop. But after I export it, transferred it to my phone, I realised the colour just doesn't look the same anymore. Any tips? It looks totally different, especially the saturation and highlights. I changed my colour profile to export my pic in sRGB, but it still looks off. My laptop is colour managed too, so I don't know what did I do wrong. Any tips?
You’re most likely working with different color ranges somewhere along the process. Unfortunately things get very technical there and I don’t know what your setup is. I would confirm that all devices - your phone, photos, Lightroom, and monitor are all in the same color range - that’d be a good place to start. Hope this helps!
Hey, Kael! I believe you're right. Chromatic aberration occurs when a a lens doesn't correctly line up all of the colors on a focal plane. That leads to the fringing that is seen. I suppose the Sigma lenses I am using now are better than any other lens I was using on my Canon T3i which led me to conclude that the Sony a6500 is better when dealing with chromatic aberration. From that perspective, technically speaking I guess I'm still right but at the end of the day, yes, I believe CA is a lens issue and not a body issue. Hope you enjoyed the video!
How did you get the color grading you have on Instagram for this photo? It’s definitely different from your final picture on this video. Really would like to know. Thank you!
Hey, Cindy! I use my own Presets and LUTs for all of my color grading on my photos and videos. You can find the presets that I currently have available at BMAC.link/DigitalStore! I hope this helps! More tutorials on specific color grading styles coming very soon!
I may not be right, but i think it also is about the camera you are using, i know you can do a lot with a cheap camera and also you can show an amazing picture if you invest on a camera than can offer more sharpness, what can you tell me about the camera you use for this picture?
Cameras with higher dynamic ranges and higher megapixel counts will always be more impressive, but a high-end most certainly isn't required for editing photos to make them "pop" and really look great. All my gear is linked in the video description box. I hope this helps!
Anybody ever tell you that you kinda look like Chris Evans? Random, I know lol but anyway, loved this walkthrough bro. You just got another subscriber 👌🏾
Hey, T! No name for it, it's a LUT I've developed and tweaked myself. Have not yet decided where or not I will release it, but, if I do, I'll announce it on this channel!
Thanks, Christopher! I appreciate the support. I understand that not everyone is going to appreciate my style of editing or workflow and I'm OK with that. That's the beauty of diversification in the photography world. Thank for the kind words, though! I do appreciate them!
CA is actually a result of your lenses not your camera body. It happens when different colors hit your sensor at different times. Better lenses reduce this more.
So even after editing you would still use an Instagram filter on top of it? For the crop how come you don’t use 1:1 for Instagram ? I thought Instagram was a square. So the “Instagram look” is just bumping up clarity to 100?
I personally don't use any Instagram filters as I do my own coloring and editing. Others can do as they wish, however. I'm just a big supporter of learning how certain filters and presets work so that down the line photographers have more control over the look of their final edit. I don't crop to 1:1 because 4:5 is the maximum crop ratio and has more of a portrait look on the Instagram feed (which can help your post stand out). I wouldn't say the "Instagram look" is bumping the clarity to 100. I'm not sure what you mean by "Instagram look" so I'm hesitant to agree with you there. I hope this helps!
BMACadelic thank you so much ! I’m curious if you’ve changed your posting times since IG has changed back to chronological feed? By Instagram look I mean the super HDR look, where people bump up clarity to 100 or structure etc and it looks unrealistic or contrast and saturation are turned up to the extreme
Make Sure to watch in 4K if you can, or the highest quality, because that will give you the best look at what he's talking about when he says, "not sure if youtube will be able to see this or not."

Yeah he calls himself a cinematographer but can't hold focus on a simple shot where he's staying the same distance from the camera. Use manual focus, it aint hard.
BMACadelic I think he meant more your ability to judge when is appropriate to USE autofocus and when is appropriate to use manual. For a situation like this where you’re staying in the same position throughout it would have been better to use manual, hope this helps xx
On a Mac, it’s the key with “Option” written on it. It’s been a while since I’ve used Windows, but I think on Windows it might just say “Alt.” Hope this helps!
The color grading on this video is very unnatural. Just full on orange skin with no subtle variation and everything else is teal to the extreme. Subtly goes a long way and this color grading made it difficult for me to finish watching the video.
I would certainly not call it unnatural, eelaws. Different, sure, and you're perfectly entitled to that opinion but if color grading alone causes you to not want to watch the rest of what could be a very helpful video for you, that'd be unfortunate. Either way, thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏼
That's very well explained. Thanks a lot !!! The auto focus of your face and the computer is disturbing a lot. Please show either the computer screen or face at a time rather than switching each other frequently.
Thanks, R! So happy to hear! The AF definitely wasn't nailed in this video, but I don't think it's as bad as some of the comments are suggesting. Nonetheless, feedback taken and thanks for watching!
Which Adobe Lightroom tool mentioned in this video is your favorite?!
Tone Curve & Camera Calibration :)
tone curve and sharpening
Hey i got question. I don't get what you say "Option" is that shift or ctrl?
You just gave me alot to think about and i kinda like how balanced you Instagram feed is. Thanks

I am a beginner at using Lightroom, and I want to thank you for so useful and helpful tutorial!
Happy to hear that, J!
I think what we really want is a tutorial for how you colour graded this video
I'll see what I can do about that, David! Thanks for the request!
yes please!
I agree with David
download a teal and orange lut. pump the saturation to 100. you have this look
Or you can do your own color grading, create your own LUT, keep the saturation where it was, and grade a little warm, FbF.
At the points where the photo looks awesome for me, he just says UNREALISTIC 😂😂
Hey, it’s all personal preference at the end of the day! Nothing wrong with that!
@@itstheBMAC yep bud. No prob at all. Just for fun 😊✌

hey one quick question, what is the option key ?
It’s a special key that you should have on your keyboard.
BMACadelic what exactly is written on this key?
On mine, it's "Option." It might differ depending on your keyboard.
CA is actually a result of your lenses not your camera body. It happens when different colors hit your sensor at different times. Better lenses reduce this more.
Yup! I’ve since learned that to be true. Thanks for the tip, Eli Epstein!
So even after editing you would still use an Instagram filter on top of it?

Hi, computer requirements for Lightroom 5?
You can find out on the Adobe website the specific system requirements.
I like original more. Beautiful light, warm sunlight on the tip. After editing it looks too sureal and somehow plastic 😊
We’re all entitled to our own tastes, Igor Mazej. 👍🏼

How do you make your Temperature settings go from 0 to 7000 ?
Make sure you shoot RAW. 👍🏼
Make Sure to watch in 4K if you can, or the highest quality, because that will give you the best look at what he's talking about when he says, "not sure if youtube will be able to see this or not."
Indeed, Thomas! I always watch in 4K when my Internet connection allows! It makes a tremendous difference.
Can't forget the dehaze slider.
I like the Dehaze tool! It's very sensitive and is sometimes best left untouched, but it can provide interesting results in certain situations for sure!
Great video...
A little feedback: Just manual focus your face and leave the screen blurred. Too much focus pulsing when you move your hands.
Without a front-facing viewfinder, autofocus is usually a must, mogoliapowah! Thanks, regardless, for the feedback and glad you liked the video. 👍🏼
Notice your instagram usually has a fade. Do you add it in Lightroom or with something else?
Hey, Luis! Yes, every edit that I publish to my Instagram feed now has been made only in Lightroom. No other apps. I hope you like the feed!
