Lexus Owner Spotlight Series- 2023 Lexus IS 500 & Tony's 2022 IS 500!

- Hopefully this is the first of many nationwide on a new series I’m still tweaking. After many months of heavy thinking on engagement, doing something different and highlighting others and “paying it forward”, I came up with this concept. In it a @lexus vehicle is highlighted and then the conversation changes to highlight an owner with the same identical car. It doesn’t matter if the car is stock or modified, the idea is to use this platform to highlight other amazing Lexus owners & their vehicles. @blu_is500 kind of gave me the final piece to this puzzle when he asked to accompany the 2023 IS 500 FSP shoot that was taking place. He happens to own a 2022 IS 500 in the same Ultrasonic Blue color. I thought this came out pretty good for a first effort. I think this can evolve in different ways and even transition to someone else hosting. I also want to feature swag I wear from brands and people I know like my @atatfmedia hoodie. Congrats on your cars. This is my dream car. It was a little out of reach for me right now so I just purchased a 2016 GSF, which I have actually fallen in love with and may even prefer over the IS500. I am sure I will own an IS500 in the future. Most people don't understand these cars or why we like them, but it doesn't really matter, drive what you love and what makes you happy.

That Ultrasonic Blue is an amazing shade. Our Q50 is a darker blue and look good but nothing like my USB IS500. This one is a keeper

I've got a 2023 in Grecian water with black interior, I absolutely love it, definitely the best car I've ever owned. I like the USB 2 but to me the Grecian water is just so striking in person.

I had my Cloudburst Gray IS500 until I found the USB a couple of weeks ago. I flew to Tampa and drove it back. I loved the Cloudburst but now I have it in my favorite combo 💙❤️
I actually drive the IS more than I do my LC500

Ive got a 2024 Vector Blue IS500…absolutely love this car… had an Audi S3 prior which is also a nice car, but I definitely like the IS500 more…:-)

i actually like silver wheels better than the black ones, black ones just blend in with the tire. The rims are awesome looking, reminds me of f80 m3, only those where 20 inch.

Funny thing, I had every intention of trading out the Silver Enkeis for the BBS wheels, until I saw them in person. For me, they hit perfectly. That’s the beauty of the car community, it allows us the space to like what we like!
Love it. Personally I would go for atomic silver with the bbs tires but ultrasonic blue is sick as well!

Great video and like you said the Lexus community are very friendly. I followed the F development since ISF -> RCF -> GSF -> LC500 and now IS500. I always wanted a ISF in USB however the MY2012+ goes for big dollar.
Initially I wanted a Ultra Sonic Blue Mica 2.0 GSF but with less than 2500 units to chose from is a limited option, after months of searching I end up with a 2016 GSF in Matador Red Mica.
Funny story is during a rush hours I follow a IS500 as I want to heard what the 2UR-GES exhaust sound from outside perspective. The owner seen strange as 1st but when she saw the blue F badge on the fender she rolled down the window and we chatted.
She bought a IS500 because she couldn't find any GSF that less than IS500 MSRP pricing.

You will not regret it. The 350s are freaking awesome (I had two!), but the 500 has that special sauce.

Mike are they ever going to upgrade the infotainment system in the IS? I truly believe if you upgrade the infotainment Lexus can take market share away from bmw and mercedes.
Just my personal opinion, I doubt it. Sales are still brisk for a sedan and I assume a next generation comes sooner than later.

So there isnt really a difference between the 2022 vs 2023 besides wheel color?
Well the black wheel is optional. Most everything is the same. Molten Pearl was the new color in 2023
…and the 2023s come with a dashcam. I do believe it’s standard, but I’m not 100% sure.
Minor and very subtle improvements like slightly heavier steering when in Sport S+ mode and they seemed to have corrected an issue where the front bumper would slightly separate from the body panel.
The only real difference is the interior trim was changed to silver instead of black, BBS wheels were a 2,400 option, MSRP was raised about 1,000 dollars, and Molten Orange was added for the limited color. No functional difference between the two.

Given how overpriced these cars have become lately, in fact the entire IS range for that matter, do you guys reckon that these cars still represent the great value for money they had become known for?....Because to me the overpricing kinds turned me off slightly from Lexus....at this point event a 5 Series BMW is far cheaper
That’s not correct. A 2024 base 5 series is a 4banger with less than 300hp and hardly any options for $58K USD. The base 500 has everything except NAV, a smaller infotainment screen, and no rear sunshade for $500 bucks less. No subscription madness for something like heated and cooled seats, plus a bulletproof engine and legendary customer service. Personally I think this car is worth every penny. I’m a true-blue Lexus owner (this is my 5th one) and Lexus practically packaged this car for me specifically. 😜
@@blu_is500 But when one looks at a 2021 540i M-sport, which is a straight 6 with the glorious B58 and a 2022 IS350 F-Sport new gen, the 5 series always comes out cheaper, and a year difference is practically nothing...And keeping in my that I am huge Lexus fan, but just been turned off lately by the ridiculous dealer mark-ups
@@neotemana really? in Canada an fully loaded IS350 is 15K less than a base 5 series.
Comparing used to new is apples to oranges. The used car normally comes out ahead. The IS 500 being one of the last N/A V-8s will be a for sure classic in the future.
Then compare to a used is350 lol .... they go for like 35k-40k
