As someone who worked in Baltimore a couple of decades, this is exactly how we react. Then you place bets on how many cop cars are going to show up. I have been in the middle of two police shootouts. It is just a fact of life when a city is sunk in poverty. You learn to gauge what is a serious threat. It like a thunderstorm, you learn how far away it is, how much time you have, and when you need to take cover.

There's a road that goes up into the mountains just north of Los Angeles (Pasadena to be precise). I would bet anything that there's piles of bodies at the canyon base where the road turnouts are.

I watch a guy named Gray Hughes who does True Crime, but he does A LOT with Google Earth as far as where the crime was committed or person last seen and any search areas. Sometimes we speculate based on facts where someone may be found ect. Well a woman disappeared from Riverside, Ohio last October, foul play has been suspected from the start...a few weeks after she disappeared a body was found not too far away and I thought surely it was her. Gray said there are bodies all over and probably wasn't her but I was skeptical. Turns out Gray was right! It was some sex offender...

The interesting part about this is that the fear is all human related. It's not about the spooky supernatural, it's about the fear of finding human remains, violent people roaming around, the fear of getting attacked or shot. It's so incredibly creepy because of how real those fears are, as opposed to ghosts or demons

Nothing fantasy or paranormal comes close to this, not when you know that there will always be a risk of a real life monster who looks like an every day person coming for you at any moment of any day or finding something you were never meant to find. You don't even have to be in a place you don't belong for it to happen either. Our homes lull us into a false sense of security. So do our small, quiet towns where nothing eventful happens. It makes us think everything that happens in this video happens elsewhere. Never here. Never to us. It's not until something happens close to home and rocks the community that people start fearing others. Those poor people shown live with that fear every single day.

If you spend time in places that it is more frequent you learn to identify the noise and then keep away for a while (these guys didn't do the second part so well). Heard hundreds of gunshots over the years when I was in Kansas City as well as central Minneapolis. You start to become more robotic about it in terms of mental response

Im in SC and don’t stay in a big city. I do stay up till like 2am every morning and I hear gunfire almost every night. I just ignore it. My bf goes to sleep early and is a deep sleeper, but one night he stayed up with me and heard pistol shots and freaked out. I was just chillin like yeah I hear it all the time. His face was priceless. Guess we get used to it.

I live in Rural West Virginia and hear gunshots constantly all year round from neighbors. Eventually it's just part of the ambiance and you don't even notice it
Wow! So sad to see this. I grew up playing in Leakin park. Seriously you have no clue what the park used to be before the city's malign neglect reduced it to the sad state it is currently in. You barely scratched the surface of what is there, virtually nothing from the true interior of the park. When i was a kid people lived in the park, my friends lived in the park. The government created this mess by slowly but surely pushing the people out. They wiped out entire small communities. When people lived there the park was clean, well maintained, and NOT a dumping ground! There were some truly grand old houses, one off of Wetheredsville road even had a gatehouse. I had friends who lived along Windsor Mill rd, Hutton ave, Ridgetop rd. Point is it was NOT a scary place at all! It was a marvelous place to be a kid and play in. There were great natural springs to get drinks from after playing hard. The old Rock Crystal Spring water company building was still standing on Wetheredsville rd, some of the finest sweetest tasting water ever. Far better than the bottled crap you buy now. The city had stables then, and there were miles and miles of trails to ride on horseback. Old abandoned farms and homesteads to explore. Now even the old cemetery had been vandalized. Do you know how it came to be the body dumping ground? By default, if you look a Druid Hill Park, the vast majority of it was been sealed off, either by fencing or barriers. Druid Hill used to be the dumping ground for bodies, Hell it's right in the city! And all the little back roads, perfect! But the zoo is there, so it became crash priority to stop the dumping, kiddies and dead bodies not a wholesome mix. So the thugs had to move on to Leakin Park. It's a bum rap for the park, because with the exception of that lunatic Hatchet man, almost none of those people were killed IN the park! Nope not like it was park visitors being murdered, they are killed elsewhere, and just shoved out the door of a car driving along. It's a shame, I can't walk well anymore, or I'd offer you a REAL tour of Leakin Park!

Far from it. There are bad areas, just as there are in any major city. The majority of the city isn't bad at all. Downtown, Mid Town, New Center, Indian Village, West Village, Mexican Town, Rosedale Park, Corktown, all good places. Don't be dumb and go into the hood and you'll be fine.

Mid 80's, an old church on park grounds was renovated to be a community center. The day it was set to open, it was struck by lightening, and burned down. That's Leakin Park!
This is one of the most terrifying and real and well shot videos I have ever seen on this site... This made me terrified throughout the entire thing honestly.. it makes it feel so alive and just as if I was there.. just my opinion.. good on you for going there yourself.. because theres no way in hell id do that.
I did door to door sales by this park last year and the locals told me to never go here and i never got why until now
Its not that bad. Definitely some nasty things happen from time to time but bodies are found everywhere in Baltimore. We drive the park with my F-350 and clean up the road all the time we also walk the park and take trash bags and clean up. Have actually found a lot of money in the park. Found a fanny pack years ago with 6k in $100s turned it in and wasn't claimed and got it back.

If Baltimore had a functioning city government they would clear cut and bulldoze huge swaths of that park to prevent it from being used like that. It could be done in a way that preserved the green space but made it very difficult to use as a dump /drug den/ homeless camp.
As long as there is no Reformation for drug users, and no care for the homeless. People will always find a place for deviation.
