I purchased my SX4 new in 2007. I absolutely love this car. No issues what so ever. It currently has 110,000 miles and is still running strong. If this car was still being built I would certainly buy another one.
I've had mine for 8 years. Very reliable. I've really enjoyed owning it as it's very versatile. I've had some great nights away camping in mine having done a few alterations. I look back now on when I bought it and I got an absolute bargain!
I have had a Suzuki Sx4 for over eight years and it is an awesome car. The best thing about this car is that it runs like a champ in the snow. It zips around like nothing, while everyone else is getting stuck. This is a great economical car.
I will give you all a review on its safety in a crash. It works excellent even against a BMW and wall. That happened just yesterday. 2 adults and 2 kids escaped unhurt. Even the groceries were okay. Unfortunatly the car was totaled. Thanks Japan from Britain.
The SX4 is awesome in the worst snow and ice. Makes it disappear. Great car for Colorado, where I live. I just bought one before our first big ice storm and it drove circles around 2WD cars. Handles like a go cart and loves to rev! I've had Hondas to Hyundais and this SX4 is quality. Luv it!
My dad got a 2007 sx4 about 5 years ago and its been good now i turned 14 i started driving he bought me a 2008 sx4 i take care of it a wash it and i just cant wait to drive it more often 😃😃
I purchased a new 2010 Suzuki SX 4 in spring of 2010. It has only been driven the city in temperate non-winter conditions. No ice, snow, or gravel on the road. Much of the front end is pitted with paint chips. They are everywhere, right down to the primer. I take my car in for regular service intervals and keep it clean. The finish is rapidly disintegrating. I spoke with Suzuki corporate and they recommend I take it into the dealership. I will do this and keep you all posted.
I always wear a crash helmet when I drive mine, and I always take shortcuts through the green belt instead of sticking to the highway. With its small size and all wheel drive it can tackle almost any walking trail or cycle lane.
I had this car as a rental, definately a surprise hit. I don't even like small cars, but I have to appreciate this car for what it is. Great peppy engine and strong brakes with a nice interior. I'd easily pick this over the current Lancer that I've driven also.
yup, the front A-Pillars REALLY hinders visibility, especially at night while turning, I'm always worry I'm going to hit a pedestrian crossing. BUT apparently, this A-Pillar ADDS tremendous rigidity to the frame. It makes it an VERY good and capable WRC car, and the weight distribution too is 50% rear-front, where normal cars are more like 60% front.
I have 120,000 miles on my 2007 SX4. The only problem I had was a thermostat replacement. With a good set of tires, I've driven in the mountains during snowstorms with no tire chains. The 4-wheel drive lock mechanism works perfectly when the going gets tough. It's small, fun to drive, and durable. My only complaint is that I wish it had a sixth gear (manual transmission) to keep the engine revs a bit lower. Best car I've ever had. Too bad Suzuki bailed on the American market.
Mine only has 112,000 and I have done had to replace the control arms, my ac don’t give cold air, I had to replace an oil and transmission seal but other then that I love my car I just hate that I can’t figure out what is wrong with the ac
Ive owned 6 different suzuki cars and suv's no complaints with any of them. They were never in the shop very very reliable and fun to drive. Not sure why so many are pissing all over suzuki.
Topsx4 it’s because it’s a cheap car and everyone thinks the cheap cars are the worst cars. I can tell you with my SX4, it’s one of the best cars for weather where I live and fun to drive.
I meant the Swift '+', but the specification was unneeded as we were talking about NSA cars. I know the Sedici is the SX4. However, the SX4 is built on a new chassis. The Swift chassis didn't have space for the AWD system (half shafts etc). The frame is similar to the Swift's, but there are enough changes from the initial stages of development for it to be considered a new chassis.
Please, do not compare an OVERPRICED cheap sedan car like a Yaris with an Off Road Legend like Suzuki.....This car might not be able to do the same as the Grand Vitara, but the off road capability is unique for a car of this segment and price range.
I own a SX4 and it is a great car. Its quick enough and the sedan w/sport package comes with Navigation and 17" Alloys all for under 15K for the money there isnt alot of cars better. I would reccomend this car to anyone on a buget
Well, I'm confident in saying that ALL car companies use external suppliers to produce their cars. So as Suzuki may make their cars in Japan, using parts branded as their own (they're only bought and sold as their own under contract from the supplier), they will still buy most (if not all) of their parts from external suppliers. Just like any other car company.
Best comparison would be a Toyota Matrix or Pontiac Vibe. Not really hatchbacks but not really crossovers. Sure would be considered a crossover today though!
the 2006-present Suzuki SX4/ Changan-Suzuki SX4/ Maruti Suzuki SX4/ Suzuki Liana (Queensland, Australia)/ Suzuki Neo Baleno (Indonesia) is assembled in Esztergom, Hungary Kosai, Shizuoka, Japan Manesar, India Bekasi, Indonesia St. Petersburg, Russia
i wish Suzuki would bring something like an updated Sidekick or Tracker out--a small version of a Jeep Wrangler with soft top. The Tracker/Sidekick was unbeatable as a cheap, durable SUV.
You're right about the engine. The Honda Fit is underpowered. Looks... It's a 'hate it or love it'. No Space? WTF?? O_o I own one and it has 57 CUBIC FT of cargo space with the rear seats folded flat. That's even more space than most compact/midsize SUVs!!
I bought this car used 6 mths ago. It is generally ok but there are a few issues. As this video points out it drives well but lacks responsiveness---translation-->it takes its time getting from 0 to 60. If you are used to a car with more zoom, its annoying. But the thing that bugs me the most is its 10 gallon gas tank---10 GALLON! I feel like all I do is stop for gas and I'm constantly worried about running out.
I don't see the value in 15 grand. I mean, it is a good car, don't get me wrong. We bought a new Forester for 18 grand, which in the grander scheme is not much more. We are also achieving over 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg in town with more power too boot and more equipment. If you negotiate (much like we did with the Forester) a new Subaru Impreza in base form should not top 16 grand. Much better value.
Wrong again, the Swift chassis DOES have enough room for the AWD system, you can even purchase a Suzuki Swift in Japan with the AWD. And Suzuki itself doesn't consider the SX4 to be a new chassis, in their print literature they DO say it's the stretched global swift platform.
sx4 definitively age better than its competitor , resistance to rust is very good compared to the fit , its also much more up to date in design compared to the others , not to speak about the fwd/awd/4x4 modes , not even in the same category as the competitors named here .. more like compared to a subaru legacy and other crossover/awd+cargo
Fit and Yaris and all other can't go offroad, and Mazda2 only has 100hp, this car has power and utility, 150hp isn't like breath taking, but sure it is a lot of power for mini car
The two cars use the same parts, to make what is essentially the same car (only differences being the badges and rear light clusters). It would be a silly decision to not share parts.
Nope. The Suzuki Swift uses the same platform as the Aveo, but the SX4 does not. The SX4 uses a completely new chassis, as I said; jointly developed by Suzuki and Fiat, which goes to two cars only: the SX4 and Sedici.
SX4 1.6L VVTi 4 A/T with rear fog lamp,front fog lamp ; 13L/100km in city,9L/100km on highway SX4 1.9L TDI 4 A/T with rear fog lamp,front fog lamp ; 16L/100km in city,12L/100km on highway
As far as the "Joint Venture" between Suzuki and Fiat.... the ONLY thing Fiat had to do with the car is fitting a Fiat diesel engine in it, for sale as a Sedici. Other than that, Fiat had nothing to do with the design or engineering of the SX4.
My husband drove mine on a hill side ways with no problem 😂 😂 I love this car I just got mine in March of 2020 and yes it takes time to get up to speed but I love my car
