There is something ultimately very funny when models crash or disintegrate and it's a completely primal thing.

Dang it man, that was honestly one of my favorite builds that you've done too. Is there a similar model that you could obtain, that's still in the same size class as the 380, but meant for the crazy high speed you're trying to obtain? How many RPMS and what pitch were you running at its top speed? I doubt you'll be able to rebuild it just from what I can see in the video, so do you think you might end up building another 380 similar to this one?

I devastated my S2 yesterday. I feel your pain. No reason, it was hovering level about 30feet up, then plowed right into the ground. Even the bearings shattered inside the rotor head. Our club had multiple utter avionics failures that day.A few min before my s2 fell out of the sky, a scale 787 suddenly pitched into the ground full speed and disintegrated.

@@westhobbiesrc8051 My club has recently come under bad attention. The renewal license was terminated after 30+ years of operation citing its recently come to light that evidence of Indigenous remains are in the field we fly over (rather recently researched historical documentation that lays claim, not actual physical evidence).
If true, of course I'm fine with the field shutting down; I already got membership at two other nearby clubs as alternates.
I guess I was foolishly (or selfishly) expecting a peaceful transition next spring when things officially shut down.
Not that my theory is even true of course...it could just have been an absolute fluke day that my wife lost signal and our plane was a speck heading off into the distance before I got it to turn around. On top of everything else I mentioned, it was just too many for coincidence. Regardless, I'm never setting foot there again; it was either a pet cemetary level happening or disgruntled descendant. Either way, i'm not motivated to fly there anymore. Even if the charter and license is allowed for another 6 months per the agreement.

Wow. I commend you for the attitude. I would be really upset about something like that. I had never seen the frame break apart like that and separate it into two halves. Really bad crash indeed and I agree it's a total rekit. Well you have the pretty mean big machines but I get it, you worked hard to get this to where it was. On the bright side, I know a ton of people watch your channel and support you so I wouldn't be surprised you get a machine at IRCHA to try out or given to you. Don't know if you'll have time to tweak it though. Anyways hope for the best and take care.

I usually laugh when there's catastrophe with 3D flying, but just don't feel the same with your bird, here. You were just going for forward speed. I had my scale 800 Hind-24 (Red Dawn) and like an idiot, night flying, and struck power lines. In the pitch black, she fell to the road where 10 seconds later, a spectacular explosion. Thought it was one of the 5,000/22v packs that blew, but it wasn't. Turned out- one of the blades leading wires, hit line, got hot, and blew the blade like a balloon. Now my 700 is flying fine.

I usually thumbs up a video to support the channel...but I just feel awful about this one. I saw that clever edit you did on impact...im sure the few frames missing had some words with it.
Again, so hurtful to see it happen. Is there a lesson to learn? Sounds like you already seated everything properly, I myself am deliberating on how I will seat my avionics in. I wonder if a hot glue gun bead around the perimeter of equipment after you 3m tape it in place, just to dampen vibrations and also add an extra layer of securement.
I did a bead of hot glue on my BT adapter for my S1 and S2 and after many flights and crashes, it hasn't budged at all.
